    How to feel safe and how to actually be safe. Safety is the most primal drive of every living thing. Yet our capacity to feel safe can get distorted to such a degree that we don't feel safe, even when we are. Tapping is a powerful remedy for that.
    Tapping on the Meridian Points (from acupuncture and acupressure) literally communicates safety to your nervous system in the most powerful way... through touch. Touch bypasses the filtering systems of the conscious mind and delivers this message of "You are safe" directly to the body.
    It works like this. Even though I will be saying things that sound quite negative, I am only voicing what your unconscious believes to be true. Just confirming what is believed actually communicates safety since you are not trying to force it to change.
    At the same time the body is receiving exactly the opposite message through the tapping. The words say I am not safe but the touch says I am. Touch is more influential than thought and the nervous system has to reconcile this difference. It reconciles it by opening to the possibility that maybe it is not as dangerous as it believed it to be.
    Seeing that it isn't, it begins to relax. You feel that as a sense of relief. Do that consistently and your nervous system will begin to assume that things are safe and you will find new balance and freedom in your life.

    Inner Reconciliation, EFT and even meditation are still in regarded as experimental and so please take responsibility for you own health and wellbeing. That said, I am unaware of anyone experiencing negative side effects from using these videos or any of the techniques presented in them. However, different people require different care, and depending on a number of variables, it is possible you could uncover deeper issues within the process that cannot be addressed in these video.

    I’ve done this consistently for 3 days. At the beginning I felt a HUGE constriction in my body and knot in my throat that I didn’t feel as tense today. I’ve been able to start to feel safe to release and cried a lot! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

    Hello GP! I love the way you do EFT. I cried my heart and eyes out during this session and I understood some old deep pattern not just with my head but deep somewhere in my soul. I really hope I can join you at the end of this month for the EFT course. I want to help as much people as possible in my life to release what hurts and live an happy and fulfilled life.       Yeah you can feel drained. As the system let’s go there can be a release that will feel like exhaustion. Like when you’re working really hard on and then you finally just stop and relax for a second. Your energy system has been on guard for quite a while. It is exhausted.

    I've never felt safe around my immediate family my entire life. I've never felt like they had my back completely and that they wanted the best for me (unless it benefits them). My nervous system has always been on high alert (even now) and I constantly walk on eggshells because I'm afraid of upsetting my family members and be attacked for it. It stems from me being raised by a narcissistic mother and having family members with anger-management issues who physically attack me when they're mad at me. I could not trust them with my safety and I could never feel safe around them.
    I'm hoping you could do an EFT session for people who grew up in a narcissistic household because people like us have a different and a deeper fear of safety.

      Hey ToughSoftie - I grew up in such an environment for the most part. So you nervous system concluded that it was not safe to be yourself and to let your guard down.
      Now the thing is, at the time is was actually true. But your nervous system generalized it into a permanent condition rather than temporary. Thus is it continuing to behave as if it were still in the war zone.
      Be patient and continue demonstrating that the war is over and it can come out and play again!

    Thank you so much for this video! I have cried during the whole tapping and it felt good to let it all out without thinking or analysing it. I will repeat this tapping since i still feel unsafe about being alive, being in my mind and body. I think this tapping helped me gave that part of me who is feeling sooo unsafe and scared a voice and permission to 'speak' without me being that angry and impatient at that part. So thank you very much! I do feel calmer right now.

    This is absolutely fantastic. I've been in a state of hypervigilance for a long time now, and my nervous system just refuses to get off high-alert mode.       You are so very welcome Laury. This is a practice. The nervous system takes time to adjust to the experience of safety since it is assuming that there isn't any. It will eventually come to trust it and then the default state will begin to shift and the hyper-vigilance will begin to morph into greater freedom of self-expression.

    Thank you GP for this session, this is my first time watching a video of yours and I totally loved the way you do EFT. Although I can still feel resistance but at least I triggered my nervous system and subconscious mind.

      Yes, the repetition will eventually become your default state. So just tap, not to get rid of resistance but to love it into a transformation. Energy doesn't go away. it transforms. We direct it to transform into love and confidence.

    I feel so very tired after this, I had a very scary upbringing so was happy to tap all that lack of safety away. Thanks GP, does this work immediately or should I do it again and again.

      Don't turn it into a ritual or a discipline and don't assume that there is still some lurking somewhere. Just stay in the present moment. if something comes up, tap through it. If it doesn't leave it.
      You only have to deal with what is right here and right now.

      @GP Walsh, I’ve been tapping for a half hour every morning for about a year or more now. We have a toddler here and I do not get much me time, but I have that half hour. You advise against this type of ritual or discipline? Would you be willing to elaborate on how this might be detrimental? I most often use this one currently. I had a somewhat scary childhood.

      By not turning it into a ritual I assume GP is maybe suggesting not to push past the body’s messages for rest(for example) by presuming tiredness coming up is a problem to be solved. I think a ritual of daily practice is great, it’s just to be aware of overworking ourselves as though we’re a problem to be solved

    Loved this GP . After round 1 I felt calmer and more relaxed . I felt some release in the body with the tapping and experienced a warm glow in my heart and body . Loved this will keep doing it for a few days . I always feel tired after your tapping videos like I need a nap .

      Yes, that is how it works. When you voice it, the resistance actually goes down becuase now the energy doesn't have to defend itself. Then it can engage in a genuine inquiry.

    would this help with chronic tension? i get headaches and constant throat tension. also had some traumatic/intense feeling psychic experiences that I think have contributed. could you make a video on feeling safe with spirit? thanks

      Oooo I like that idea. Many things contribute to that tension and intense feelings. EFT is very effective when it is specifically targeting some issue. I have created a whole series of videos called "Presence Tapping" which is about the longterm reconditioning of the nervous system. It helps reorient the body into a state of safety.     Thank you so much for this! This came for me. It feels so. I had been waiting for this one since I got the email on Sunday that this was next. And today was the right time for me. I felt the resistance and heaviness in my stomach when I was about to start the first round. I felt the energy in my stomach release after the second round.     Is there also a movie about not trusting other people in your life, due to Childhood trauma?

      It all came from those childhood traumas where we were genuinely not safe and the nervous system assumed that that was a permanent state. It is safer to not trust at all then to risk getting hurt. So it is a very basic strategy that it employs. Again this is only a state that was programmed into you early on and, as such, it can be programmed out of you. Since it was genuine danger and pain that created the state, it is obvious that it is only safety that will cure it. We all have to learn how to become safe for ourselves,. This is the essence of what I call the Yoga of Allowing.

      @@jessicaburgers Trauma can happen at any stage of life. Most of it originates in childhood simply because we are powerless, vulnerable and totally dependent on others. It creates the underlying inner environment that will manifest laster. Of course, things happen later in life as well but in early life we create deep tendencies which is why there is so much focus there.
      It is the feeling of powerlessness that creates the truama and not the actual circumstance itself.

    I really really like this video. But i have MCAS. You know that? Im allergic to almost all foods, scents, polls. I live inside alone with many pains etc. I know my nervous system wants to protect me. But how can i tell it that i'm safe now, that it can get off alert, because the alertness is from the past? Because when i eat something or go outside my whole system is going crazy. So the NOW is unsafe too right? I really wanna learn how to tap on this.

      Thank for that question Jessica. We can't ignore the real dangers. We have to be cautious. What I emphasize, especially in the beginning is that WE have to become safe for our bodies and emotions.
      As you practice allowing your thoughts and feelings to come and go without resisting, YOU become safe. You could simply tap with the heartfelt prayer
      Let me be safe for my body.
      Let me be safe and support it whatever it needs to do
      Recognize that it is your protector and it has gotten itself in this state because it believes it had to. So treat it the way you would treat an overzealous friend.
      I often use the analogy of a rescue dog. Think of you nervous system as a recuse dog that trusts no one including you. What does the dog need more than anything, compassion, understanding and a gentle consistent attempt to show it that it is loved.
      Something happened to you that created this state. Be loving towards yourself. None of this is your fault.

    Wonderful!!! But what....if theres still danger everywhere. Im sick and nothing workes, so scared, my mam is sick, and dont wanna loose her, im lonely etc. So the NOW is not safe.... But i know the importance to feel safety...

    Is it normal to feel really afraid and resistant in the body? I feel the fear/anxiety as i tapped the first part.

      Yes, in fact, that is where it all. is. The body is way more than we think it is. Keep tapping and just give that trapped energy permission to do whatever it wants. WHen the environment in which it is moving (you) shifts and becomes a loving safe place it will respond.

    How you know if you have to tap on i am safe or i am not safe???

      Start with the not safe, until it doesn't feel as true. Then try the I Am Safe. If there is a lot of resistance to it, just go back to the I'm Not Safe. Your own responses will be the guide.

      Oke, I live in the Netherlands. I have been physically ill for a long time, and recently learned that this also has to do with trauma. I have discovered together with my acupuncturist that when I listen to meditations and songs about safety, my whole body sounds the alarm/freaks out. unfortunately I won't cry or anything but I get strong physical pain reactions. So there is a deep insecurity in me. unfortunately it is unclear what happened in the very young youth. however mediums come out at age 5 independently of each other. I was also always afraid of men & intimacy, in the past. now that i read your answer, i think, would those vehement reactions to songs about safety be resistance?

      @@jessicaburgers ​ The (very) good news is you do not have to know what it is. This is energy healing, not analysis and, quite frankly, even the best minds can fathom the subtlety of the energy system.
      As for the time involved, don't put any expectation on this. If you do, your mind will always be comparing which causes more distress. Just tap with no expectation, fully in your not knowing.
      When people try to assert safety when the nervous system is in a state of expecting danger, it only makes it double down. That is why I always start with tapping that is totally acknowledging the current state. Wo when I agree with the system and say, "I am not safe" it will immediately relax a bit. Just like if you are talking to someone and they keep telling you you are wrong, you will be tense and defensive. But if they say "I see what you mean. Yes you are right." you immediately relax. You don't have to defend your position any more.
      This opens up the space where the energy can assess for itself whether the dangerous environment, which was once very real, is still as dangerous. This can happen very fast but usually takes a little time. The more accommodating of the system's position we are the more consistent the message of acceptance (aka safety) is received. Because of its adaptive nature it will eventually adapt to the new environment.
      Just be patient and consistent. You body and emotions will do the rest.

      @@GPWalsh thanks!!!! But the new environment is "i am safe" , but...
      This is not... Im already 7 years sick, can only eat 5 products without allergy reactions for 18 months now, gave vitamine shortages but allergy to all medicines and supplements, no doctor that understands it, severe heavy pains, lost every vriend and my boyfriend and stepdaughters, a sick mam. So i cannot tell my system that im safe now.... Thats the problem i think and dont know how to do tapping, what sentences to name, because cannot tell that the unsafety is gone, cause im still unsafe 🤔😭

      Yes, because it is really your intention that is communicating. And, if you understand English then the message gets through. The tapping works all by itself in that it communicates safety through touch. And that is beyond any language.
      That said, you may want to transcribe this video and translate it to dutch and try it yourself and see if it is more effective. and, of course, you can find a skilled EFT practitioner that is Dutch and see what it brings.
      Everyone is different and trying different things to see what really works for you is the fun and the individuality of the healing path.

      @@GPWalsh its really a lot of work to translate 20 minutes tapping.... I rather practice EFT in all this time. But you think English will work? Yes i understand English.

      @@jessicaburgers English will work fine. You don't have to do all 20 minutes. Just take, 5 or 10 phrases and see if it makes any difference.

      @@jessicaburgers Well just repeat those phrases and feel into it. You'll know pretty quick. But it isn't that important since you understand English and the nervous system doesn't rely on words. It is all intention

    This didn't work for me at all. It caused way too much angst and Trauma and was very unsafe for me to do with PTSD. So I'm going to skip this one. It's just not workable for me.

      I agree with you I had the exact same response and I wasted about 20 minutes this morning on this one when it was not helping. He has another one with a very similar name that worked for me beautifully and I guess I pulled up the wrong one. I’m going to put a dislike button on this just to make sure I remind myself in the future although overall I find his videos enormously helpful and he is clearly a really lovely and kind person.
