    I am very new to longboarding in general but I am finally getting the courage to start learning steps to longboard dance. Videos like this are invaluable tools and I am so grateful you take the time to share your skill through your educational videos. Tips like keeping your head over your feet, committing to the steps, and finding the flow are really key tips. Thank you!

    with dancing moves it's nice to practice them first without carve. Make sure you realy get the feeling and get comfortable with moving like that on your board. For example the switchstep is awesome in a carve but for us also the first dance move we teach. By putting your foot in the middle it's realy doable and a great way of starting of your first dance steps. And when you get them down start doing them in a carve. Great episode!

    Great video. When I first tried cross-stepping, I was terrible because I was no good at riding switch. So, I practiced riding switch and that helped a ton.

    I don't know his name, but the guy at the end... his advice about flow and stop seeing tricks as these independent things... That's the stuff. Flow is the key, and feeling the flow is the only answer that matters. If you are longboarding to get a list of tricks, I suppose that's cool, but... man. Just riding for that feeling of flow is where it's at!

    I am a parkour coach try to learn longboard dance. I love the idea of is not a trick is a step. It's about flow it's about style. Do you guys have a training routine or loose pattern to your skating that helps you grow? Warm up? how long to skate? crosstraining or conditioning? how to add new steps you suck at with steps you are better at into flow? thanks for the video

    • @LoadedBoards
      @LoadedBoards  6 років тому +3

      Awesome! We are all about flow since skating in general is one long experience rather than short moments of fun.
      Usually, we practice by cross stepping every direction we can. It familiarizes yourself with the different balance points on your board and your balancing skills on each foot, as well as getting comfortable skating in different positions than you usually do.
      When we are trying to incorporate new steps into our routines, we will practice the new steps first and make sure we understand the balance and movements. Once comfortable with the new steps, we will usually start with a cross step and try to lead into the new steps, creating new combos while still mastering new maneuvers.
      For cross training, many of us like to snowboard and surf whenever we can. Help you understand the different balance points that cater to each type of board sport and how they can then help your skating balance. We also like to practice our balance and control with balancing boards like the Indo Board. You can easily make your own by filling a STRONG two liter water bottle with water and taking an older skate deck with not trucks or wheels and try to maintain your balance on top of the bottle!
      Hope this helps!

    I fell off hella hard. Now I’m shaky when I get back on cause I’m hella scared. What do you do to get over the fear? And, how do I know I’m ready for the trick?

    • @TysonRoehrkasse
      @TysonRoehrkasse 3 роки тому

      The best thing you can possibly do is learn how to fall safely. Depending on availability for you, look into gymnastics tumbling, parkour, or mobility training type stuff. Learn how to roll and how to land softly when you can't roll and practice falling down more than you practice anything else. Once you have it in muscle memory you will feel much more confident when trying tricks! Your body will know how to fall and it will be an instant reaction, you don't even have to think about it. That's why a lot of advanced skaters don't wear any protective gear at the skate park - they've learned how to fall without getting injured. They still get bruised and scraped up, but no serious injuries.
      Also, get pads and a helmet if you don't already have them, they help a lot for making new tricks feel less scary. I have a helmet + elbow + knee pads and I wear them a lot when practicing, even though I do know how to fall safely. You have to screw it up many times in order to eventually get it right, so brace yourself for lots of falling!

    • @LoadedBoards
      @LoadedBoards  6 років тому +1

      Yeah they can work! We've tried them a couple of times on dancing setups and they roll just fine, but we did notice that the lumpy edges of the wheel seem to slow you down when you carve really deep into turns. Maybe we are hallucinating, but that's just our personal experiences They look cool though!

    What board do you recommend starting with?

    • @LoadedBoards
      @LoadedBoards  5 років тому +1

      From our line up, we suggest starting with boards like the Dervish Sama or the Tan Tien! They are drop through boards and make it easier to push and get around town. Each board comes in different flex ratings to make sure you have something that will fit your weight range (weight ranges can be found on each board page)
      If you want something that will be with you as you progress your skills, then we suggest the Basalt Tesseract! Light, with a little bit of flex, the Basalt Tesseract is perfect for just about any type of riding you want to get into!
      Tan Tien: loadedboards.com/114-28.html
      Dervish Sama: loadedboards.com/114-29.html

    • @LoadedBoards
      @LoadedBoards  6 років тому +1

      Trueeee, the subtle angle of your feet does make a big difference and should've been mentioned! We will keep that in mind next time around. If you got any other suggestions please mention them!

      @moritzschierenbeck 6 років тому +2

      Ethan does them like that in the clips before and after that so I guess if they watch closely people will know how to do them.
      Adams Video helped me a lot because I just couldn't balance myself very well doing them with my feet almost perpendicular to the board.

    I’m riding a 9.5” x 47” Koastal Current. My question is if it’s better to loose trucks or tight and hard or soft bushings. Thanks in advance for your
    help

    Where can I buy a long board in India?

    • @LoadedBoards
      @LoadedBoards  5 років тому

      You can order on loadedboards.com and have it shipped directly to India. We can't give you a shipping quote at the moment because it depends on how large the board is and how much it weighs. You should be able to calculate your shipping costs on the checkout portion of our website!
      You can also try and order a board from a nearby country that distributes Loaded and Orangatang product. Look into shops like Cold Mountain in China, or Longboard Love from Singapore. We also have distributors in Thailand and Malaysia!

    is it possible to do a pirouette on grip tape?

    • @perroprod
      @perroprod 6 років тому +1

      it is, at least for 360 pirouette, it just kills your shoes sooooo quick, if you want to try 540 or even 720, grip tape will give you a hard time spinning
