i got a pxn v900 wheel and pedals for grandpa. He was saying how he misses driving. Today, installed the wheel for him and tried some free games and demo, but the free games didn't recognize the pedals while the european truck demo seems quite challenging. I never played driving games myself so had barely any clue what i was doing. I think getting him BeamNG, but i really hope both wheel and pedals will cooperate. This is a very good video related to what Beam has to offer, Talks! I think everything that's important was mentioned. I definitely recommend Beam for those who are thinking of trying it! 👍
1. BeamNG is a CPU heavy game. Generally saying, the more cores you got the more cars you will endup being able to use 2. The Register button of BeamMP no longer works. in 0.27 the game introduced whitelist dns. Meaning that mods and the game itself can no longer open links except those that point to for example the BeamNG forum or repository. I think someone asked to also whitelist the BeamMP links back then, but since the button still doesnt work in 0.30, i guess that didnt happen. Accounts needs to be created on the BeamMP forum, same account used there is used in game. 3. Technically speaking, the game sandboxes the code it runs. So mods and alike cannot do anything malicious. Several known modders confirmed to me that BeamNG sandboxed the game very well. Meaning that Joining not official servers proposes no harm 4. Actually, its worth checking out the non official servers. Thats where all the content is. CaRP, the multiplayer variant of Career. CopsNRobbers, the multiplayer variant of Chasing Robbers and Fleeing from Cops. BeamNG.touge, the place to go for all the touge maps and mods. etc etc etc. I can just highly recommend joining a community that formed around the mod, you will find plenty of Events for every activity you want togo after with others in this game.
