There needs to be a complete remastered/revised version of this game
No there needs to be a sequel that improves upon the first.
Ze Kollektor is still out there and I want my revenge for him beating Rubi in there first encounter.
I love how the guys at CGR can appreciate a non perfect game, unlike pretty much every other reviewing company out there

Yeah, mentioning Quentin Terrantino was spot on. Honestly at points it's hard to think he wasnt actually part of making this game. This is definitely in the style of Grindhouse/Kill Bill....and that's perfectly fine.

@broli3110 Except the point is that an Xbox uses a regular DVD. It's to be expected from a DVD. Not a high definition disc.

This game seemingly reminds me of Punisher for PS2... kinda repetitive and nothing TOO spectacular, but just a lot of fun to play. I probably replayed the first level alone in Punisher at least 50 times. It's good to have a mindless gorefilled romp sometimes.
So it's a Grindhouse type video game. Hey, works for me. Great review dood.

Wikipedia says it came out 2009. And Uncharted came out 2007 and it looks outstanding, even today I think.

I've got this game, like said in the review it's not perfect, but it is seriously cool and stylish and fun.
It's a little repetitive, but you can upgrade your moves - the whole point is to kill your enemies in the most stylish way possible.
Some of the set-pieces are awesome - like the highway levels and sky-diving, and the music is great.
It's like all Tarantino movies made into a game.
I think there's a playable demo on PSN and XBL , check it out.
@OrdoMallius Just barely going on 10 months old and on a *Blu-Ray disc*. The age of the game isn't much of an excuse to say "Oh we'll fill this 25GB high-def disc with only a storyline." Sure it's worth playing for the story and killing things but nothing else.
Just bought this today for cheap. Can't wait

Yes, it's better then PS2, but when I look at Killzone 1 oder Projekt Snowblind I can't find much of a difference. Okay, maybe some light effekts and mirrorings, but in this game you can't see that 6 years are gone between this and Killzone.
The main thing that jumps to my eyes are the cars, when you look at Forza or something, there are totally realistic cars. Okay, it's no racing game, but to make two or three cars can't be such a hard work.
looks like a fun game.
Despite all its obvious flaws, i really enjoyed this game and still plays it 10 month after its release.

I'm saying graphics don't matter; and people who care about the eye candy are caring about graphics.

@XendmustB2 I guess it depends on the reviewer's taste in music. I really liked the music for Wet, then again I hated the music in Bayonetta - personal taste n'all - everyone differs.

@broli3110 Yet a Godzilla game that was on the GameCube and original Xbox (same game) looked almost ENTIRELY different and one had better sound and another monster. Going from a mini-disc to a DVD is a big jump. Going from a 4.8GB DVD to a 25GB or 50GB Blu-ray disc (with the Blu-ray being hi-def.) is an even bigger jump. You would assume they could use the space for a bit of graphic improvement, right? Even online polls and reviews criticized how the game looks.
@DeltaPhi79 Btw this is also on Xbox,i just wanted to prove that good graphics don't add anything to gamepaly.

The graphics are also pretty questionable I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned , fine for an o.g xbox game.
i was thinking, wheres the bad parts, becouls otherwise this would be a gem. whell we can only hope a wet 2 can fix these problems

Personally if you don't like the reviewer there's no need to even reply, what good is anything but constructive criticism? I think his reviews are fine, as for the game, I haven't played it, but a mindless shoot fest is what I'd expect, so it looks grand to me

@broli3110 1: English needs improvement. 2: Though there's still the fact that one is HD and has a LOT more space for eyecandy and whatnot. Why not use it even if it's the same game?
hope that in the soundtrack it will have a litlle bit of the sex pistols or the clas or the ramones.
The game was great really. People don't understad that it is purposely repititative becasue of its scoring system. Hey, Super Mario bros was repetative too, why ot rip on that one.

This game is like Machete but a woman who is playing the lead character instead of Danny Trejo. And I love it!😍 BTW I haven't seen the movie, Machete but I'm interested in checking it out on digital on Google Play TV and Movies.

I have considered girls like Rubi actually XD She really does have an influence on what I WOULD be looking for in girls, not that I'm doing that right now. She and Lara are tied at #1 in terms of heroines when it comes to me.
@DeltaPhi79 It's the video quality. The game does look a lot better than this.
I LOVE this game. The main thing I didn't like was that Rubi can't jump straight up, only forward. And the final boss was so cool but we only got to fight her via quick time events? So lame.

@5k4k1dhtp No, what's sad is that we can't have both graphics, a well-told story and game play because the conglomerate a-holes, such as EA and Activision, don't care about the quality of a product over how quickly they get paid.

@AndyHarglesis the FF series is RPG oriented...this game is full on 3rd person action so to compare them would be stupid. Besides, FF is going down hill ever since SE decided to milk fans with remakes, remakes, aaaaaaand more remakes of the old FFs. Not to mention FFXIV turned out to be a major flop. FFXIII was ok, if it didn't have the FF brand it would be just another one of your average JRPGs, nothing too special. FF has yet to truly impress this generation of consoles which is a shame really

@5k4k1dhtp It is also sad that people do not like creativity or even color. They just like blood and violence. That is not what makes a video game fun. I think charm, creativity, and most importantly fun goes into the mix.
I kind of thought of checking it out again but holy hell. I don't remember the same repititive gunshot sounds. That would bore me quick. Same guns or not.
A gun for hire is a mercenary, not a fixer. As if this guys attitude and voice weren't annoying enough.... (wish someone else had reviewed this - anyone, even IGN [Though CGR's Mark is the best choice])
