I wish he would have just said I have to postpone this match due to an injury. Instead, to me it sounds like this match should never have been scheduled. Glad to see him taking time for his health though.

It should never have been scheduled. Yes, he had holding power vs Devon but Devon isn't even an offensive arm-wrestler. It was more than clear after Devon that Denis is, as many people should have expected, not what he used to be. Im glad he's recognizing the issue at hand and that his health must be priority number 1.
What many of you don't understand is that Denis did not ask for this match, he said it a video on ARM OLYMP. The organizer gave him Ermes.

I think Devon cancelling his match motivated Denis to back out as well. He knew he had very little chance against Ermes so this was the perfect opportunity. Well, I hope his health issues get resolved. Health is first, always. But I doubt we'll see Denis competing with the top tier super heavies again.
lol apparently vitaly was with Dennis in Russia and in the practise pull, vitaly completely dominated Dennis and flash pinned him and after that Dennis lost his motivation. Thats what I have been hearing

Morozov and Georgi still showed up with badly health issues, knowing they would likely lose and not in a good way, if this is the real reason Denis should not be allowed to pull at high level again, it's pretty disrepectful.

Devon is cutting weight to return in heavyweights, which is the best choice for him honestly, since he has troubles reaching and maintining his weight over 120 kgs due to natural aging.
Kurdecha, I don't know, we already saw Ermes losing badly to Devon due to almost 0 preparation for the match, and Ermes now is no longer that vulnerable against longer levers.
But yeah, I don't know at this point who can be a match for Ermes, free to have a match, probably only Alex

Booooo. He probably got smashed by Vitaly in training and backed out to save himself an embarrassment. His 'problem' with his hip joint was already known 6 months ago or so. It didn't prevent him from signing the contract for the Ermes match back then. Backing out last minute is a low blow to Ermes and KOTT.
I too thought this. Vitaly smashed him and Ermes smashed Vitaly. He got demotivated and does no want to embarrass himself again after Devon.
Or so Ive heard that yes there was a video of them sparring and Vitaly flash pinning him almost every round but it was soon after taken down

I don’t think we will ever see the same elite Dennis that easily dominated Devon 5 years ago. I don’t quite know what to think about his explanation that involves hip inflammation, possibly a mistranslation, however I would deduce it has something to do with his blood work and how increasing his gear dosage is endangering his levels.

A mio parere questo match neanche si sarebbe dovuto disputare, con un Denis in queste condizioni di salute Ermes avrebbe trovato la tavola già apparecchiata. Mi dispiace vedere denis cosi abbattuto, la salute prima di tutto e spero che un giorno possa tornare a tirare come faceva in passato. Ora Ermes vs Kurdecha e il vincente quest'inverno contro Levan
Sì è vero però le tempistiche sono un po' strane èh...voglio dire ormai si era preparato queste due settimane sarebbero state comunque di riposo quindi l'anca non avrebbe avuto modo né tempo di peggiorare .... ormai doveva fare l'incontro... così mi fa pensare che sia solo una scusa
E' tutta una scusa e il suo comportamento è completamente irrispettoso nei confronti di Ermes che si sta allenando come un neghèr da mesi. Il dato di fatto è che Vitaly è andato all'Arm Olymp due settimane fa e ha tirato con Denis ma si è poi fatto scappare qualche parola di troppo nel video che ha poi cancellato, dove aveva fatto intendere di aver flashpinnato Denis più e più volte e di avergli detto che Ermes era completamente su un altro livello. Vergognoso dal mio punto di vista.

Io non penso che debba limitarsi solo alle leggende perché non ha solo battuto John lo ha proprio dominato. Ha "battuto" Kurdeca di 1anno fa in uno sparring (per quello che può valere) e a Devon ci sono voluti 23 colpi per pinnarlo nel loro primo round ..secondo me affrontare tutte le leggende avrebbe comunque dato un'idea chiara a lui stesso e a tutti del suo reale livello. Da lì, dopo averle battute tutte, avrebbe potuto gradualmente provare a scalare la classifica fino ad arrivare in top 5 secondo me.
