@@homestead_diy I hear that... I don't even think I could could the not started or WIPs that I have laying around. Just in one place in the garage, as far as tool restorations, I have 5 axes, 4 hammers, a sicle, several pairs of shears. And there are more potential tool restos tucked away elsewhere in there. And in the basement. And in the shed. :)
Thanks man! Only took me a year+ to actually get around to making it. Was originally going to do an embedded Arduino, write all the code for it, etc., but I found a pretty powerful module ready to roll on Amazon for $25. This was after I was attempting to repurpose a cheap USB speaker's guts for this thing, and I ended up frying the board because the solder contacts were far too tiny, and my soldering iron far too cheap and hot :)
@BlueTurtleStudios I am lucky to have one near me thankfully. No window mount speakers however. There was the remnants of another one a few miles down the road from that one, that they just bulldozed over recently sadly.
Thank you for watching and subscribing - much appreciated! I absolutely had to grab these when I saw them. The real bonus was that I got them for only $5/ea!
Thanks for watching! The folks I purchased them from at a yard sale were definitely in the "we just need to get rid of everything" mode, I see them going on eBay for ~$35+/ea.
Old guy question: Does that need to be plugged in full time, or is what you plugged in a charger? Looking to make one that I can actually hang on car window at a car show.
This one specifically does. i actually tested this out first with a super cheap rechargeable USB speaker that I had lying around, and it also worked fine. Not as loud though... You could definitely find a USB speaker that is rechargeable and sacrifice it for the speaker driver, charging port, etc. These are fairly easy to drill through if you need a hole somewhere for a charging port. Lots of options as to handling the charging port, or if there is a battery pack, etc. I have some ideas for each, if you want to chat on this further, you can drop me an email at the@newjankyworkshop.com

I've got so many projects where I've bought all the stuff and just never gotten around to making it.

Wow these bring back memories hey!!!!
What a cool use for that old speaker.

Yep, I went to the drive in in high school! It's because I am very old. I am sure the sound quality is much Improved with the upgrade. Cool stuff

You lucked out, I spent $5.00 on the exact same speaker 40 years ago.

Sweet dude. I’m glad you didn’t paint it, that patina look is better. Good work
Old is beautiful (or at least that is what I say to myself in the mirror each morning...)
Thanks for watching brother!
@@TheNewJankyWorkshop also, love the intermission and other graphics. Have you heard of subliminal marketing?
@@Stillworks Found an awesome clip out there from the 60's that had all these bits sprinkled in, so I had to steal it :)
@@TheNewJankyWorkshop it’s a nice touch
