    @TEEEJ69 There is nothing in the internals of this motor that is made out of titanium. Steel crank, aluminum rods, aluminum-alloy pistons, tool steel wrist pins etc etc. But everything is balanced perfectly which is the key ;o)

    They made the 302 specificaly for going Trans-am racing because of their engine size limit rule. And to go Trans-am racing you have to sell in the showroom what you run on the track, kinda. Lol

    @atvguy94 I'm going to go ahead and tell you before someone else does and is nasty about it. Chevy made a 302 inch engine. Back in the 60's...Google...Z28 302 chevy.

  • @bigmrclean
    @bigmrclean 13 років тому

    @MDizzel16 Well it sounded like to me that the way it was revving, that the engine wasn't hooked up to a transmission. He said there was though, so I was wrong I suppose. Won't be the first nor the last time I've been wrong.

  • @73camaroSS350

    @deannaber THATS FUNNY YOU DONT NEED TO REV A MOTOR LIKE THAT

  • @einarkm

    @VegaWgn just never forget a good mag will help get the rpm up if your distributor quits at 5500 my uncle has a L88 427 chevy bb that scares the life out of you at 8000 in a 68 firebird 400

  • @einarkm
    @einarkm  12 років тому +1

    I wish I could, but I have no idea what so ever about this particular engine. However you should just look up Pro Stock engine specs and let him look through that. Although BB's don't have the same rpm's as a SB they sure can rev high and a well built engine will hit 9000's all day long.

  • @mustangfeber

    it sounds like 10k maybe 10k5?

  • @tomstorino70
    @tomstorino70 11 років тому

    then why did you say a 455 super duty is the greatest big block ever made. the 427 sohc ford wasn't fuel injected it used 1 or 2 4bbl carbs depending on which version you got. As far as the greatest big block ever made, i'd put my money on the bb ford more precisely the 429-460 a hell of a lot more power potential.

    • @anthonypesqueira7540

  • @1951RKP
    @1951RKP 12 років тому +1

    Better question is. Why rev the hell out of it for no reason ? Any race motor will rev high free willing in neutral. Doesn't mean it makes power at those RPM's. My guess would be this motor power peaks at no more than 8000 RPM's. Anything beyond that is on the backside of the power curve and pointless.

    • @cloroxbleach118
      @cloroxbleach118 5 років тому

      not poitnless. you always want to shift 200-500 rpm past your peak power so that your average power across shifting is higher

    • @salvadorebertolone
      @salvadorebertolone 5 років тому

      @@cloroxbleach118 no, you shift at the point where the torque output at the tire is greater in the next gear than it is in the current gear, or at the rev limit
