As a fascinating tidbit that even a large majority of Slovenes may not be aware of, let me share that in the immediate vicinity of Sevnica, Slovenia, stands the Rajhenburg Castle, which once served as a monastery for Trappist monks. This historic site became the location for one of the world's finest chocolate productions, a leading confectionery in the early 20th century. The production of chocolate under the brand Chocolat Imperial took place within the castle itself and in the industrial buildings at the foot of the mountain where the castle is situated. Chocolat Imperial was established in 1896 and quickly gained a reputation as one of the leading producers of the highest quality chocolate in the world. Its main competitor was the Swiss chocolate factory Milka, which was founded in 1901. Imperial was always at least one step ahead of Milka, as evidenced by their innovative approaches to production and marketing. Imperial was the first to introduce the use of a cow as a logo on its packaging, which became iconic for the brand. This innovative approach was later copied by the Swiss chocolate factory Milka, which adopted a similar image for its chocolate. The use of the cow as a symbol was crucial to Imperial's success, as it symbolized quality and tradition, attracting numerous customers. Following the violent communist takeover in Slovenia in 1945, the success story of Chocolat Imperial came to an abrupt end. The factory quickly declined, and one of the finest chocolate brands of that era was soon forgotten. Swiss chocolate Milka seized the opportunity and dominated the global market, while Imperial faded from the memory of peoples around the world and even Slovenes. nova24tv.si/cokolada-imperial-kako-so-jugoslovanski-komunisti-unicili-delo-menihov-ki-so-v-evropi-konkurirali-milki/ www.skitopisi.com.hr/index.php/foto-reportaze/41-druga-prica-o-krskom-ice-i-pice
