Hey guys! So I am finally taking the first step in confronting Ipsy about all of the issues I have had with extra charges and subscriptions. Ipsy is notoriously horrible at customer service but I will keep you guys updated when I hear something! If you can't get a hold of them over email, go to social media. I swear I've never seen companies act so fast when you start complaining about them to a fanbase.
Hi Alexandria Hopefully, you will have a smooth cancellation process like i did. I had 2 Ipsy accounts, so received 2 of everything at each level. Since Ipsy took over Boxy, i have been receiving ridiculous amounts of duplicates and cross overs in my boxy base, premium and Ipsy Plus. So in July i contacted Ipsy through their chat bot and said i wanted to cancel Ipsy plus and X on one account. It was all very smooth and confirmed in writing from a named person at Ipsy. The test will be to see what i receive in September. Good luck. They confirmed which accounts i wanted cancelled in the chat box and confirmed via email. I received my August X box then received a confirmation email to say i will now only receive the Glam bag from this account.
Just a suggestion, at your bridal sleep over, bring out all your unwanted skin care, let everyone pick, then they can bring it home if they like it, that way you can save on party gifts
@@bootslawless possibly not, typically bridesmaids come from both sides, husband and wife, so a few girls may not be close enough relationship wise, or geographically feasible to share with

Coming from someone who’s a big fan of skincare (chronic cystic acne for years🙄), I am getting so BORED of seeing all these skincare products in subscription boxes. Where are the ridiculous glitter eyeshadow palettes Ipsy???
This is 100% why I cancelled my subscription. I tried it for several months but I got three different sets of makeup brushes, SO MANY SKIN CARE PRODUCTS that I couldn't use because of my skin conditions (which I indicated in the questionnaire) and I think I got ONE measly eyeshadow palette that was....OK? Bronzer and blush twice, both times they were broken, and a serum foundation that was TERRIBLE. I think I got two skin care products that I actually liked and could use and one blush that I didn't hate. Otherwise it was a total bust. Had no idea how much worse it could have been. At least I've never gotten one (much less three) GlamX boxes I didn't order.
@@allih8021 that’s the thing too! Like everyone has a different skin type, not all of these products are going to work for everyone, especially people with sensitive or acne-prone skin
How am I supposed to get thru a serum in one month & see if it works if they send me one the next month… then the next, and the next? Not to mention skincare is soooo personal & they seldom go off of what I’ve put my concerns are in my profile 😩
You may want to consider going around your home and gather up all the multiples of products you have. Then at your bridal sleep over let the ladies take what they want or create gift bags for them. This way you clean out clutter and nothing collects dusk.
Unsolicited advice: Don’t use any new products on your skin before your wedding. It would be terrible if something made you break out or caused a reaction. 😬
@@Alexandria-Ryan I had ipsy back when it was $10 and just a bag of make up. Once I started getting mostly skin care, I noped out of it. Ipsy/boxy should be PAYING you, not stealing from you.
I can't paint my nails red because every time I catch a glance I'm like, "IS THAT BLOOD?! AM I BLEEDING?! No, no it's just my red nail polish." One second later "IS THAT BLOOD?!" Seriously, it never stops!
I didn't cry at my wedding even though I thought I would. I was just so focused and we saved our personal vows for later privately, which I cried a bunch. My now husband cried as soon as he saw me. 😍
Contact Ipsy via their Twitter account! I messaged them there when they were charging me for glam bags even after I had cancelled my subscription with them. Heard back from someone the same day I contacted them, and had everything figured out in 20 minutes.
She’s so relatable! It’s as if you’re with your bestie and just chatting away. I’m 52 and she would fit right in with my few besties! Oooo, squirrel 🐿! 😂😂. That’s us! It’s phenomenal.
I don't use make up nor do I use skin care products so I have absolutely no interest in the things you unbox but I think you are ADORABLE!!! I love your chatter about the dogs, your wedding, your thinning hair problems, the neighbor who loves yard work and your comments about the boxes themselves. I also don’t use makeup or fancy skin care, but I watched one of Alexandria’s advent calendar unboxing years ago and I found her so genuine, sweet, and funny that I ended up watching a bunch of other videos and then subscribing. I’ve been a happy subscriber ever since! Seeing someone genuine on UA-cam is almost a novelty, especially someone who has been doing the grind for so many years. Alexandria is just as sweet and genuine as she was all those years ago and I’m always overjoyed when I see she’s posted a new video!

I think we'd all listen to you tell spooky stories for a whole video! I'm not a superstitious person, but I am a little stitious, as the saying goes. My spooky story is I have an old wooden wardrobe in my house that cracks almost every night at precisely 9:20 p.m. and it's making me wonder if maybe something happened in that spot. There are ghosts where I work. I've seen things get launched and broken, and I've seen a very clear ghost person walking near me. Most of my coworkers have seen stuff too.
A lot of creaking and groaning in houses is caused by things expanding and contracting from temperature changes. Our front door does the same thing at roughly 10 pm. Always startles me.

Story time! One time we go to my grandparents house and see my grandfather (who was 95) laying on the ground. We RUN over because we thought he fell. NOPE! This man is lying on his stomach cutting the grass with SCISSORS because his lawnmower died….. we were like “you knew we were coming over. So I’ve made comments on Facebook Ipsy pages (it was regarding where the heck my box was) and instantly someone from Ipsy reached out and got my problem taken care of PLUS reimbursed me for some of my add ons since they sold out in the time it took for them to make my box. Try commenting on Facebook with your troubles. They don’t like bad publicity
As a ghost-skinned person, I appreciate the disclaimer :P Also you could always use the really light stuff as concealer for the foundation that was opened. Also, I don't know if it's something you're ever considering, but I'm sure you'd have a clientele if you wanted to sell your 'only swatched' items at a discounted price from the retail value.

I was never a "cream product " person either until someone gifted me a cream blush and I became obsessed. It's so much more natural looking. And because I usually don't do foundation just skincare and powder as base on regular days it was a lot easier to use in my everyday wear
After THE most stressful week of nearly losing my eldest boy (he is an Italian Greyhound by the way but I can’t have kids & my two Italian Greyhound’s are my babies!) & going backwards & forwards to emergency animal hospitals & vets & being told at one point he would likely die in the car journey over to the emergency animal hospital…. You use toner right after cleansing and before serum. Skincare gets applied in order of it's viscosity. Oh, and a good setting spray will not only help makeup last but help it with the tacky feel. Personally really like the one by NYX. I can help you out with that whenever you hire me on for the assistant that you need. :)
I receive Lurella and AIA boxes every month now and I am so HAPPY 😁. I no longer have that gut wrenching constant stress (or experience Glam Bot hell) that I used to have with Ipsy and Boxy.

I canceled ipsy over 6 months ago, I was so tired of repeating products that I was getting in both ipy and boxy charm. I wanted variety and different things in different subscribtion boxes. I canceled both and just kept Fab fit fun.
Great that they let you cancel! Most people now try to cancel, do what they’re supposed to do, but they’re still getting charged…just not getting their bags.
GOOD FOR YOU ALEXANDRIA!! I just finished a two month battle trying to get my money back from glossybox. After having my July box never shipped out due to their weird trend of charging everyone but “selling out” of boxes. My refund from July was used toward my august box (which at that point I didn’t even WANT but their cancellation policy is weird so I got my refund yanked right back from me). August box was returned to sender because they messed up the shipping label and after A WEEK of dealing with customer service and sending 5 emails in a row that all included screenshots that I even *highlighted and circled* so they could see. Finally today at 2 am I got a message saying they’ll refund me! As soon as I get my money I’m deleting my payment info from their site. Absolutely INSANE!
So I was interested in the Dew of the Gods products being blessed by a Buddist monk, so I went to their website and couldn't find anything about it on the website. It seems like a good company, and I like a lot of their initiatives, but I wish they would provide more information if they are going to make this claim on their packaging.

I think a Buddhist would rather want you to visit nature and use natural products instead of things from a multi billion industry that’s build with the intention to make profit.
Considering a step of the Eightfold Path to achieve enlightenment is to give up attachments to earthly possessions, it's definitely sketch. Idk why they would use that a such a major marketing tactic and then not include anything about it on their website. I don't know how good their products actually are bc I haven't tried them, but something so expensive and related to 'vanity' should probably not be attached to that kind of philosophy, it feels almost exploitative.
I canceled my ipsy years ago just because of financial difficulties being a young college student and at the time planning a wedding and moving alot, but im so glad I did after hearing what they are doing. I honestly don't know if I would have even caught onto what they are doing because I'm really bad at remembering stuff like that
I had to update my account with a prepaid card that I don’t use anymore. They try to charge me now but they can’t. I’ve cancelled my entire account yet still kept being charged and sent boxes.
So glad I unintentionally canceled Ipsy. I had to get a new debit card because mine was compromised, and their system kept rejecting my brand new card that has worked at Walmart. Turns out I wasn't the only person with this problem, and the human I did communicate with simply kept reiterating that their system was rejecting my charge because it suspected it was a fraud charge. Like you told me that 3 times already, tell your software engineers to fix this supposedly common issue!
Whoa... I would dispute the charges with your bank or credit card and tell IPSY you aren't giving them another cent until they get their garbage straightened out.
Did a family reunion this past weekend and drove my nana there and back. She asked if I wanted to stay the night before I flew back the next day(was supposed to stay at my uncle's) and I absolutely did. Even though we'd spent the last three days together we stayed up late chatting, I put a shepherd's hook in her yard and cut up a giant watermelon for her. I hadn't seen her in a few years and she's been really lonely with not being able to go to her bingo nights so I was glad to be able to spend an extra day with her.

i’m light-medium and struggle to find my shade. i think struggling w foundation is just a universal issue lmao, tho the mid-tones did and do still have more options, which is supremely lame.
I was hesitant with LYS products at first but after trying their bronzer , I bought their foundation and I really like it. It’s buildable and it really blends in nice. You should try it! My skin is fussy so if it works with me, it would with you Alex!
Gotta recommend the Welsh twins on UA-cam since you’ve mentioned doing your own wedding makeup and not knowing exactly what to do with skin care. James Welsh is so good at explaining skin care, what you should use and what order. He has rosacea and talks about products that have helped calm it. And his twin Robert Welsh is a professional makeup artist with the best tips. It’s changed how I do my makeup…much less product and with a lighter touch. Whenever I do my makeup now I get compliments.
Yes! Robert is one of the few people I’d trust to do my makeup for a special occasion. They’re both great and then the channel they do together is silly and hilarious
I've been seeing you say you want that dewy skin look.. put one or two drops of that Wander Beauty glow oil in your foundation and mix it up.. then apply. Any oil really. I usually use Estee lauder advanced age repair. Also, I think it would be really cool if you made videos testing makeup/ makeup looks for your wedding. I know I'd enjoy watching that 😻😻
Yeah, Ipsy keeps sending and charging me for their Refreshments thing!😡 I've cancelled numerous times. I called my credit card to dispute the charge. OH! And tell me how pissed was I when I got a pack of their Refreshments facial wipes as part of my Glam Box. WTF??? I don't want that crap unless I'm choosing to get it myself. Don't send that as one of my 5 pieces! I was 🔥😠🔥!!!
Love watching your unboxing videos! I’ve had lots of issues with Ipsy forgetting an item or sending the wrong thing but I’ve never had an issue with the customer service, they are always helpful. Except for the Iconic London pallet you received, I was supposed to get one and they sent me the wrong item 3 times before giving up and telling me “it wasn’t in stock” so I was super disappointed to not get the pallet.
i don't wear foundation or anything so idk if it works for most people BUT my absolute favorite blush is..... a wet n wild lipstick i just apply some to my face and then apply moisturizer on top and blend it out and it looks really nice and natural - i feel like that's basically a diy cream blush lol but it's my favorite thing
My elderly neighbor growing up cut his grass daily during spring and summer too. And he also wore the same outfit everyday. Green John Deere trucker cap, denim overalls, and white shirt. He was the nicest, and always shoved candy in my hand when my mom wasn't looking. The old people soft peppermints. 😆 He was used to farmwork, so he had to get up early everyday and find something to do outside.

My dad has terrible eczema and I picked up the toner and their moisturizer for him and he liked them both. He said they are the only non prescription products that work for him when he’s having a flare up.

You should buy that setting spray which you can actually rubb your face and the makeup don't go off.... It's not good for everyday, because it can cause breakouts, but that one day of your wedding, I would definitely use that one🥰
Speaking of ghostly encounters, the house I used to live in in Houston, had all sorts of weird, bad things happen in the house. But one day I was sleeping, my family was out shopping. I didn't go I was tired, it was like 11 am. I wake up to the security alarm going off. My dogs start barking, I'm upstairs, freaked out cause it woke me up. My one dog is downstairs. I'm thinking someone broke in. I'm upstairs trying to find something sharp, I got some scissors. I get up the nerve the go downstairs cause my one dog is down there barking. Its was no one. The alarm didn't even notify the police or anything. My family had to come home early. I held on to those scissors for like an hour till I finally calmed down. But it didn't even show on the alarm system itself it went off. There was no indication that it ever went off. But it did.
The morning my husband passed away at the hospital our ADT alarm went off as we left the hospital. A tension bar sensor on a basement window had gone off. I had painted the basement a couple months before and had made a point of checking the tension bar sensors to make sure they were tight. I truly believe it was him going back to our home one last time before he moved on.
I remember when toners exploded onto the market in the '70's. They have undergone a number of adaptations since then. So, there are different types of toner available now. Originally they were intended to remove any soap residue from face washing. Then there was an adaptation for oily skin due to breakouts which had a lot of alcohol in it. Another adaptation was to restore the ph balance of skin stripped by soap... and yet another adaptation was to prepare skin to drink up the products put on following the toner. Is toner necessary? I don't use it, but I do know people who swear by it. So, I guess, one needs to figure out what kind of toner they would value and then try it to see if it does anything.
@@mirandasmiles4802 I don't know... but putting 2 and 2 together.... what I have figured out is that no matter what ingredients go into skin care... they all have one common ingredient and that is an oil of some type. Regardless of the form it takes like a cream, grease or oil, whatever... there is always an oily component to all moisturisers. Oil acts like a barrier cream. So? My question is.... is ALL skin care a scam and should be just we be just slapping something like olive oil (which is full of vitamin e {good for the skin}) onto our faces? I do know that drinking lots of water (good for hydrating skin {from the inside}) and tea (fights free radicals {whatever they are}) are also good for slowing down the aging process. We put too much emphasis on the outside and not enough on what goes on, on the inside.
I think it would be a great idea to let your bridal party pick out skin care and a certain amount of makeup items (including a palette) as their bridesmaid gifts!! It is a great way to thin out your stash of unwanted/duplicate items AND saves you money... total win/win!! As someone who loves makeup and skin care, but is thrifty, I'd be stoked to be gifted some higher priced items that come in these boxes :)

I have almost the same exact doorbell box in my living room. It chimes a very odd and repetitive ring in the middle of the night sometimes. The worst part about it is that it’s not connected to the actual doorbell. Our doorbell is disconnected because we have a ring camera. There’s no electricity running to the doorbell so I have no idea why it rings. It’s creepy.
I read a thread about this in the ‘home improvement’ Reddit (1940s doorbell): someone said there was a transformer connected to the home wiring. They hired an electrician to get it out. Maybe have someone take a look at it. And someone who had it disconnected but still the transformer worked, strange..could also be humidity, spiders, some mechanical error.

I love getting skincare as I already have a million makeup things but I agree 100% it shouldn't be skincare as they are marketed at makeup.

One time we go to my grandparents house and see my grandfather (who was 95) laying on the ground. We RUN over because we thought he fell. NOPE! This man is lying on his stomach cutting the grass with SCISSORS because his lawnmower died….. we were like “you knew we were coming over. Why didn’t you ask us to bring our lawnmower!?” And he was like “I didn’t want to bother you” like….. BOI!!!!

Also, I don't know if it's something you're ever considering, but I'm sure you'd have a clientele if you wanted to sell your 'only swatched' items at a discounted price from the retail value.

I was never a "cream product " person either until someone gifted me a cream blush and I became obsessed. It's so much more natural looking. And because I usually don't do foundation just skincare and powder as base on regular days it was a lot easier to use in my everyday wear

You use toner right after cleansing and before serum. Skincare gets applied in order of it's viscosity. Oh, and a good setting spray will not only help makeup last but help it with the tacky feel. Personally really like the one by NYX.

I canceled ipsy over 6 months ago, I was so tired of repeating products that I was getting in both ipy and boxy charm. I wanted variety and different things in different subscribtion boxes. I canceled both and just kept Fab fit fun.
Great that they let you cancel! Most people now try to cancel, do what they’re supposed to do, but they’re still getting charged…just not getting their bags.
GOOD FOR YOU ALEXANDRIA!! I just finished a two month battle trying to get my money back from glossybox. After having my July box never shipped out due to their weird trend of charging everyone but “selling out” of boxes. My refund from July was used toward my august box (which at that point I didn’t even WANT but their cancellation policy is weird so I got my refund yanked right back from me). August box was returned to sender because they messed up the shipping label and after A WEEK of dealing with customer service and sending 5 emails in a row that all included screenshots that I even *highlighted and circled* so they could see. Finally today at 2 am I got a message saying they’ll refund me! As soon as I get my money I’m deleting my payment info from their site. Absolutely INSANE!
So I was interested in the Dew of the Gods products being blessed by a Buddist monk, so I went to their website and couldn't find anything about it on the website. It seems like a good company, and I like a lot of their initiatives, but I wish they would provide more information if they are going to make this claim on their packaging.

I think a Buddhist would rather want you to visit nature and use natural products instead of things from a multi billion industry that’s build with the intention to make profit.
Considering a step of the Eightfold Path to achieve enlightenment is to give up attachments to earthly possessions, it's definitely sketch. Idk why they would use that a such a major marketing tactic and then not include anything about it on their website. I don't know how good their products actually are bc I haven't tried them, but something so expensive and related to 'vanity' should probably not be attached to that kind of philosophy, it feels almost exploitative.

I canceled my ipsy years ago just because of financial difficulties being a young college student and at the time planning a wedding and moving alot, but im so glad I did after hearing what they are doing. I honestly don't know if I would have even caught onto what they are doing because I'm really bad at remembering stuff like that

I had to update my account with a prepaid card that I don’t use anymore. They try to charge me now but they can’t. I’ve cancelled my entire account yet still kept being charged and sent boxes.

So glad I unintentionally canceled Ipsy. I had to get a new debit card because mine was compromised, and their system kept rejecting my brand new card that has worked at Walmart. Turns out I wasn't the only person with this problem, and the human I did communicate with simply kept reiterating that their system was rejecting my charge because it suspected it was a fraud charge. Like you told me that 3 times already, tell your software engineers to fix this supposedly common issue!
I canceled Ipsy when they started to completely ignore my preferences. I do love Madeline Petsch.
Whoa... I would dispute the charges with your bank or credit card and tell IPSY you aren't giving them another cent until they get their garbage straightened out.

Did a family reunion this past weekend and drove my nana there and back. She asked if I wanted to stay the night before I flew back the next day(was supposed to stay at my uncle's) and I absolutely did. Even though we'd spent the last three days together we stayed up late chatting, I put a shepherd's hook in her yard and cut up a giant watermelon for her. I hadn't seen her in a few years and she's been really lonely with not being able to go to her bingo nights so I was glad to be able to spend an extra day with her.

I was hesitant with LYS products at first but after trying their bronzer , I bought their foundation and I really like it. It’s buildable and it really blends in nice. You should try it! My skin is fussy so if it works with me, it would with you Alex!
Ok but that iconic London palette is actually sooo good. Colors are a lot more vibrant on than in the pan and they last sooooo long!
Gotta recommend the Welsh twins on UA-cam since you’ve mentioned doing your own wedding makeup and not knowing exactly what to do with skin care. James Welsh is so good at explaining skin care, what you should use and what order. He has rosacea and talks about products that have helped calm it. And his twin Robert Welsh is a professional makeup artist with the best tips. It’s changed how I do my makeup…much less product and with a lighter touch. Whenever I do my makeup now I get compliments.
Yes! Robert is one of the few people I’d trust to do my makeup for a special occasion. They’re both great and then the channel they do together is silly and hilarious

I've been seeing you say you want that dewy skin look.. put one or two drops of that Wander Beauty glow oil in your foundation and mix it up.. then apply. Any oil really. I usually use Estee lauder advanced age repair.
Also, I think it would be really cool if you made videos testing makeup/ makeup looks for your wedding. I know I'd enjoy watching that 😻😻

Love watching your unboxing videos! I’ve had lots of issues with Ipsy forgetting an item or sending the wrong thing but I’ve never had an issue with the customer service, they are always helpful. Except for the Iconic London pallet you received, I was supposed to get one and they sent me the wrong item 3 times before giving up and telling me “it wasn’t in stock” so I was super disappointed to not get the pallet.
i don't wear foundation or anything so idk if it works for most people BUT my absolute favorite blush is..... a wet n wild lipstick
i just apply some to my face and then apply moisturizer on top and blend it out and it looks really nice and natural - i feel like that's basically a diy cream blush lol but it's my favorite thing

My dad has terrible eczema and I picked up the toner and their moisturizer for him and he liked them both. You should buy that setting spray which you can actually rubb your face and the makeup don't go off.... It's not good for everyday, because it can cause breakouts, but that one day of your wedding, I would definitely use that one🥰

Speaking of ghostly encounters, the house I used to live in in Houston, had all sorts of weird, bad things happen in the house. But one day I was sleeping, my family was out shopping. I didn't go I was tired, it was like 11 am. I wake up to the security alarm going off. My dogs start barking, I'm upstairs, freaked out cause it woke me up. My one dog is downstairs. I'm thinking someone broke in. I'm upstairs trying to find something sharp, I got some scissors. I get up the nerve the go downstairs cause my one dog is down there barking. Its was no one. The alarm didn't even notify the police or anything. My family had to come home early. I held on to those scissors for like an hour till I finally calmed down. But it didn't even show on the alarm system itself it went off. There was no indication that it ever went off. But it did.
The morning my husband passed away at the hospital our ADT alarm went off as we left the hospital. A tension bar sensor on a basement window had gone off. I had painted the basement a couple months before and had made a point of checking the tension bar sensors to make sure they were tight. I truly believe it was him going back to our home one last time before he moved on.

I remember when toners exploded onto the market in the '70's. They have undergone a number of adaptations since then. So, there are different types of toner available now. Originally they were intended to remove any soap residue from face washing. Then there was an adaptation for oily skin due to breakouts which had a lot of alcohol in it. Another adaptation was to restore the ph balance of skin stripped by soap... and yet another adaptation was to prepare skin to drink up the products put on following the toner. Is toner necessary? I don't use it, but I do know people who swear by it. So, I guess, one needs to figure out what kind of toner they would value and then try it to see if it does anything.

@@mirandasmiles4802 I don't know... but putting 2 and 2 together.... what I have figured out is that no matter what ingredients go into skin care... they all have one common ingredient and that is an oil of some type. Regardless of the form it takes like a cream, grease or oil, whatever... there is always an oily component to all moisturisers. Oil acts like a barrier cream. So? My question is.... is ALL skin care a scam and should be just we be just slapping something like olive oil (which is full of vitamin e {good for the skin}) onto our faces? I do know that drinking lots of water (good for hydrating skin {from the inside}) and tea (fights free radicals {whatever they are}) are also good for slowing down the aging process. We put too much emphasis on the outside and not enough on what goes on, on the inside.

I think it would be a great idea to let your bridal party pick out skin care and a certain amount of makeup items (including a palette) as their bridesmaid gifts!! It is a great way to thin out your stash of unwanted/duplicate items AND saves you money... total win/win!! As someone who loves makeup and skin care, but is thrifty, I'd be stoked to be gifted some higher priced items that come in these boxes :)

I have almost the same exact doorbell box in my living room. It chimes a very odd and repetitive ring in the middle of the night sometimes. The worst part about it is that it’s not connected to the actual doorbell. Our doorbell is disconnected because we have a ring camera. There’s no electricity running to the doorbell so I have no idea why it rings. It’s creepy.
I read a thread about this in the ‘home improvement’ Reddit (1940s doorbell): someone said there was a transformer connected to the home wiring. They hired an electrician to get it out. Maybe have someone take a look at it. And someone who had it disconnected but still the transformer worked, strange..could also be humidity, spiders, some mechanical error.
