.7:18 the LED is a green light it's on and off, you can turn it off from the remote control. I like this bar, although the unit itself turns off after 30 min or so.

this is offered for $33 atm from Walmart I was thinking of trying it for my projector outside do you think it would be a good try we're currently using a $250 portable Bluetooth speaker which sounds OK

Yeah, I use this still at my desk every day. It's definitely louder than a small Bluetooth speaker... and for that price, you can't go wrong.
