My mother-in-law taught me this preperation and in-laws are from puducode. Had been to the puducode during navarathri and had Annapurni devi prasadam, lovely experience divine prsadam, blessed.onemore thing the wholegramam, people will not cook at all ,from morning coffee to dinner will be arranged by the members of the temple .awesome feel you have to visit the place once.rakesh.😊
@Rakesh, I don't know if you are aware of the Puthucode Navaratri sadya of which this is the queen. The king is the shada shadyam payasam which can also be called idichu puzhinja payasam. the menu has only two other items:- olan & pulinji or pulikkachal as it is known in some parts of south india. There is no rasam or ten other items on the menu. But there is always a queue to find a place to sit & enjoy this - all of which form the prasadam at the Annapoorneswari Temple during Navaratri. I am sure your friend's mother Sujata Sundar Rajan may have told you all this. I AM A PROUD PUTHUCODIAN TOO because I am married into Puthucode
Hi Rakesh Anna, I am a beginner in Cooking. When I came to abroad then only I started it and use to call my amma through vedio call and do cooking. My amma makes Kathrikai Pitla which would be so yummy. Whenever I watch your vedios enaku romba nanna puriarthu. Nanum delicious a cook panidven nu nambikai vandhachu. Thank you so much for amazingly explaining each and everything step by step when you cook recipes. Lots of nandrigal from UK. Please Convey my Namaskaarangal to Amma 😊
Rakesh, I am a viwer of ur programmes since ur popular Sutrlam suvakkalam series. Still I watch it when it comes across in the you tube. This Puthucode Pulinkary I presume is from the place Pudukkode belongs to Palakkad dt. U have vaguely mentioned about Palakkad for the viewers to get connected with the place. This Pulinkary is a unique one prepared and served during Navaratri festival for all the 9 days for Lunch in the Temple. People from far off places visit the Temple during these days and relish this dish along with the feast after Darshan of the Devi at the temple. I thought it is apt to mention the history, if it is the same Pudukode from Palghat Dt. Your programme with mother is also going great. Congrats!. Expecting more unique aurhentic recipes from you in the future as well.
Rakeshji you speak hindi very well. I used to watch your cooking videos on zee zest. Love south Indian food very much. So I request you please,do this show in hindi. Thank you.
Our house we also use raw bananas, sweet potatoes, arbi, broad beans, carrots as other veggies for this pulinkari. Absolutely delicious. Thank you for posting this recipe on your vlog

Very simple.will try. My grandmom used to make a dish called Kombar.i make it even tday somewhat similar to this.we can use veg like bhindi, drumstick nd red pumpkin. No dal though.in puli thani boil the veg .make a paste of roasted methi rice nd red chillies.grind with coconut nd add to the boiled veggied.little jaggery salt hing nd curry leaves.preferebaly make in coconut oil.tastes very good with rice nd a dollop of plain oil.do try it Rakedh. Thanks
Good recipe. But No Dal in Pulinkari. It's just puli water & kari (veg) cooked with it, jaggery is must, rice is the thickening agent not dal, rustic veg that give out starch or slime reduces liquidity, coconut paste, & coconut oil is must.
