I've watched your video 7 times before starting the project, excellent instructions. Appreciate your video because I had no clue of how to repair my shower tiles. I am a woman and without your help I would have ruined it.
THANK YOU for giving us permission to not have to remove all the old grout and also to use a spackling tool rather than a grouting float!!! (I have just started removing grout on project using oscillating tool and Dremel tool).
@ if you don’t mind me asking how much did this job price around? You can give a range if you don’t want to be specific. Fairly small shower. Was this based on linear feet or per hour? How long did this take to finish?
Thank you for this. You removed a lot of my fears around replacing the grout in my shower. I feel much more confident now and I think I can do this now.
We're in the process of re- grouting our bathroom tiles tomorrow and we came across your video presentation. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
I have a Fein oscillating tool. Just ordered a grout/tile blade for it so I can do a similar repair in my master bath. Thank you for the clear video instructions for this project!
Great vid! What if there are broken tiles and tiles with drill holes/wall anchors that we are no longer using. Would we grout over the holes and cracks in the tiles?…Or try to figure out how to replace those tiles?
I am glad I ran into this video. For an occasional D I Y person, doing the wall in two parts and using a spatula rather than a float looks much easier.
Nice video! How do you color match the new grout perfectly, or is all shower grout the same color? Also I heard sometimes there’s caulking to do where tiles meet another surface, what’s the process for color matching the caulking or is this not very common
Thank you for this detailed tutorial! For the couple of days when the grout is drying, do we need to avoid using the shower at all? Maybe an obvious question, but we only have one shower in our home...
Thank you so much for the helpful video! I have some cracked grout on some of my shower wall tiles and I'm looking to replace it myself. I do have a question for you - what's the best way to tell if there is water damage behind the tile as a result of the cracked grout?
Thank you for the video. Well done I do have a question on the bottom of my shower, There is grout on all four walls. Do you normally caulk the grout on the bottom?
hey jim your busy over there! a week at the shop and home stuff on weekends.....that is a job to do.....what do you think of flexible grout where you had used silicone
@@bcx5000 As a general contractor, you can't. You WILL chip the edges of the tile and they will show. I have never seen anyone do this without wrecking the edges of the tiles and I never take one of these jobs.
Hi pro here; typically you don't have to in normal case but if the grout is very bad condition like uncleanable or leaking you have to replace otherwise you don't have to replace the grout. Have nice day.
I am using your method to do my shower tiles. I bought powdered non-sanded grout. What is the ratio of water to grout to make the consistency like peanut butter?

Thank you so much for the helpful video! I have some cracked grout on some of my shower wall tiles and I'm looking to replace it myself. I do have a question for you - what's the best way to tell if there is water damage behind the tile as a result of the cracked grout?
This was an awesome video, so easy to understand. Thank you. How do you waterproof the grout?
Some grout is already water proof but if not you can buy the water proofing in any big box store. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the video. Well done I do have a question on the bottom of my shower, There is grout on all four walls. Do you normally caulk the grout on the bottom?
On the bottom of the tile is silicon. Thank you for watching
Multi tool is one of the most useful tools ever made. If you need to remove grout, don't F around. Get a multi tool and get it done.
Great point!
Excelente video, how can you waterproof the grout please?
Good question. You will need to get some sealer from Amazon or a big box store and paint it on the tile joints .
Great tutorial. Thank you for sharing 🏆
Very nice work, thanks for posting this
Glad you enjoyed it! I like your profile picture.

Thanks for the sub!
Wow great video! Thank you!
I'm happy to help.
What is ratio of water to powdered non-sanded grout?
Where do you dispose of water that contains grout particles (so you don't clog up drains)?
in the grass outside
Thank you, I think I can do do.
You can do it!
How do you avoid accidentally damaging the tiles when removing the grout with the multi tool?
You just can’t go to deep
This was the 1st question that came into my mind.
@@getitdonehomerepair I was more referring to the exterior edges of the tiles.

@devsindustry4409 thank you for the tid bit. I've got grout that got some black spots and gaps, It's 20 years.
@@BiohazardBinkie777 I'm happy to helping you, you're welcome. Have a nice day.

What happens if you find that water has gone through the tiles and is coming out the other side of wall
That is a lot more serious. Are the tiles loose?
@@getitdonehomerepair no, just grout missing
@@ajordan553 If the tiles are not loose you can just grout the tiles. When you start to remove the old grout the tiles may start to come loose.
@@getitdonehomerepair thank you kindly

didnt look as if that tool went very deep. sometimes there's adhesive in the joint and it's very hard.
