Catherine S. Todd. Madam, this no art, only engineering and mathematical curves. Mathematical curves create different emotions and these include monotony, gentleness, excitation, aggressiveness. The intention behind a shape is brought through the use of the right mathematical curve. All items which we call artistic lose all their art once they are isolated at a distance and unseen by human sensors, but even at a distance and in the dark all that remains in artistic items is their engineering support structure. The artistic motions are not included in the item placed before an observer, but it is the observer's own mind related to his background which creates his emotion. Any item in art galleries is pure engineering and the art is the drugged emotions that are created when a human looks at an engineering or geometrical line that contains particular curves. My studies indicate the following. Straight lines project monotony, circles projet gentleness, reverse curves as curls project excitement, and sharp points project aggressiveness. Again, there is no art, only mathematics, geometry, and engineering.

Now he has a complex mind. And lots of quiet solitude for thought. Then a choice to keep it in or put his energy into creating the piece. I'm glad he did. Beautiful wonderful works.
After watching this video i actually understand how to make, or maybe replicate, one of his motion sculptures. It's an art and mechanical engineering match made in heaven, I love it
I'm in complete awe of anyone that can even imagine the mechanics that drive these sculptures, let alone create and build it. And I'm a mechanical engineer!?! smh I want one, regardless of price. Just amazing!
Mr. Roy, im a woodworker. Could you please share the tools that you use to make such deatailed woodwork. Maybe a video on the making and finishing techniques?
The first time I saw this type of art was on a quarts analouge clock when I was 6 years old. That giant clock had so many moving arms and gears, yet every motion makes a visual illusion.
It offers just enough to make me interested in making something like this for myself. I want to make something out of metal though with my powerplasma cutter. Wood and metal offer such great opportunities for expression.
Wonderful items. David, why don't you show the working of the sculpture? Here we are some peoples are expecting that you will be explain everything in the next video.

Wasin Intasarn, I completely disagree, these two men have completely different objectives. One is tied to time & the other frees your mind up from being tied to time.
I love his "Infinity" sculpture.... (seems extremely similar to his "Vise Versa" sculpture) but I can't possibly swing the 4K to buy one..... on his web site, he warns of Fake Chinese copies for 40 bucks, on the web....but, something tells me, based on my experience with ANYTHING Chinese... .....that one of those would probably break in less than a month...!!!! Anyway.... I like your work David. Cool stuff.

Also I found out that kinetic energy expands when the hoberman sphere is bounced or rolled. Quite a interesting way to understand how energy is travelled.
I'm glad this 2 minute cideo taught me everything I need to know about the intricacies of kinetic sculpture

Clickbait strikes again lol. Uploader could have chosen a more appropriate title for the video.
Currently own David's wonderful piece called solo. Truly a work of art and quite a joy to watch it in motion. It's truly art in motion.
This man is doing deep meditation by watching his masterpieces for hours. Wow.
Mr. Roy, I love your work. That is absolutely amazing artwork there. You're awe-inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us.
