A little different pickup video for this one. Whilst out on a hot May day, cycling along the River Thames, I came across something rather interesting that was thrown out beside some houses in Fulham. Turned out to be a December 1995 Numatic Henry HVR200, with a Powerhead plug to him.
So, later that night, I drove back to the location, picked him up, brought him home and gave him a deep clean and strip down to diagnose what is wrong with him. Looks to be that the vacuum was used to suck up water or wet mud and as a result has sadly killed the motor. But...all is not a loss as there are some donor Vacuums available nearby!
Thank you for watching and enjoy! :)

I surely can't be the only one to get that feeling of @bootsowen as they watched this video. Either way, I enjoyed watching it and I hope you manage to get Henry working again.

I bfound a faulty Henry years ago. On the downsides it was post-EU regulations on vacuum cleaner motor power so it had the lower power 900w motor. On the upside, it was the motor that failed so I replace it with a Pre-EU regulation motor and it's been spot on ever since. It had a blanked off overboost switch but the switch was still inside and was set to low. I reinstated it and it works although I never switch it to low.

Fyi.... The bulb light wiring next to the motor is not a power indicator light, it's actually a thermal cut- out switch to prevent cable over heating, if this goes it will cut power to the motor but can be cut out and bypassed to get power back to the motor.

Hmm, now you mention that, I wonder if that could be the cause of it not working?

great find you have there! sad about the motor though. these are UD11054 motors which are quite hard to come by and you cant get a direct replacement. If you get a genuine motor from numatic they would send you a 620w motor with a set of seals to make it fit in that henry. keep your eyes peeled for some 2nd hand ones as they do come up from time to time on ebay. other than that he will clean up like new i reckon!

Motor that’s at least 30yrs old and come from a pub so it’s most likely been heavily used could be the carbon brushes that have failed

Checked the brushes, they're all perfectly fine as shown in the video :). All with decent length left too

Have it a spin after, fan is fully free rotating. So sadly looks like they killed the motor. However I am looking for a replacement. Once I do I may sell it to another collector
