Great video! Now I know how the convertible top is supposed to work. I also can see the level of disassembly I will need to do in order to diagnose the problem. The glass fell out of the OEM top and I had an emergency situation. I replaced the top myself, and had water intrusion, but I had that with the original top too. I've posted on some mustang forums at the time and I've found that DIY'ers don't usually fool with convertible tops. Same with the dealerships. The convertible top and leaks would go to a convertible top or upholstery shop, the mechanics at the dealership won't haven't a clue. (On how to fix it, lol, but they know wet is not right.) So, thanks again. I'll have to get busy.
No worries glad it helped! 👍
I have a 2014 Premium Mustang 5.0 and she just leaking. Very aggravating! Thank you for you video
Thank you. I found out that my top is aftermarket with seams where there shouldnt be seams. If yours is stock it may be leaking around the glass or at the point where the top is stapled to the u shaped bar right at the back. If its the latter you need to remove it from the channel to fix properly. Best of luck 👍
I have a leak with the same symptoms, but I don’t know where the Seem is that you patched on my 05. I wish I could find it so any help would be much appreciated
Is your top factory? If so it may not have the same seam. Have you checked around the window for water?
Nice car, but you are right about the work you have to do considering that it came from a dealer.
Were you aware of the other issues such as the steering wheel when you bought it?
Oh and where is that beautiful SL?
Thanks. I missed having a mustang so had to go back. I was aware of some cosmetic wear and tear but the buttons worked when I was at the dealer. They started playing up on the 500 mile drive home. Fixed now and will be in my next vid. Also the dealer stored the car indoors for months so probs didn’t notice the leak 🫤🫤
The SL has moved on to it’s next owner who I’m sure will look after it.
@@autogaragelifeahh that’s a shame as it was a beautiful car, they have done well there!
It was pretty sorted when it left👍
I bought an sl in January your video's helped me with a few issues I was surprised to see the new car but know what it's like having an itch for a car, good luck with your new car I'm sure people will enjoy your work and if a friendly guy from Glasgow approaches you in your new car it'll probably be me haha

This is an aftermarket low quality soft top I can see the difference even the rear view windshield is not the same as original one
Factory soft top doesn’t had a seam on this area
Thanks, it is indeed. Not purchased and fitted by me but by a previous owner. The drains still needed clearing but the issues with the leaks up top are because of those seams. It’s completely leak free now after I took care of them plus off camera I took the rear part of the roof out and refitted it with new staples. I’ll be buying a better quality top to replace it though.
@@autogaragelife you did nice and skilled repair ! Yea no worries on top material it will handle more . So many were complain about soft top fitment was not pointed that’s why we should go for trusted brands . 🙌👋
@@DaveSam07 thanks! Happy with it for now and thanks for watching 👍
