I had this rattling on the front of my 2014 mustang found out it was my stabilizer bars had them replaced for one hundred thirty dollars parts and labor.
Great video! I do have a question.. My 05 has a vibration in the steering wheel when you take a left curve or sometimes around 70mph. Changed tie rods and wheel hubs but still happening. If its a really deep curve you have a loud rattling sound.. Almost like the front end is going to fall off but everything is tight including the steering.. You barely touch the wheel and the car responses. Should I be checking the things in this video because none of these parts have been looked at. My son was about to go with bushings in the rack/pinion to see if that helps. Any info would be appreciated.
An 05 mustang? Nothing in this video really addresses vibrations. Most vibrations I’ve experienced in mustangs have been warped rotors or wheels out of balance. Maybe a hub? Really hard to say without feeling it.
I’ve pretty much rebuilt the front end on my 06 GT since I got it with over 100k. Did struts first, then links/bushings, and most recently the lower control arms. After we replaced the lowers I’ve started to hear a clunk on the driver’s side that could be classified as loose lumber but also has a bit of a creaking to it. We’ve triple checked to make sure everything’s tight but haven’t found anything out of place. Can’t do it on command and it only happens at low speeds. It seems worse when it’s cold out. Thinking it could be the strut mounts now since they are Monroe factory replacements with about 40k on them now. But if anyone’s had a similar issue it’d be helpful to know.
This may sound crazy but could be the swaybar acting up again after 40K? I’d at least take it off and drive it for a few days to rule it out before getting into another strut job.
This sounds a lot like what I am experiencing now. I did new strut mounts and front control arms hoping it will fix the problem. It is still making the creaking noise at low speeds especially over bumps. My next step is going to be the front sway bar. Hopefully with a new bar and bearing the noise will go away. All these suspension noises drive me crazy, replaced so much over the past couple years but the car is getting older now. Good luck!

@@Dontana69 well we know the issue because as I was driving the lower ball joint came off on the driver side and the car wrecked and dented the side pretty good😂 but she’ll be on the road again
@@GT_STREAMZ oh no!! I'll have to put good eyes on the ball joint. We did an initial inspection bit didn't see anything out of yhe ordinary.
Or if you’re like me……you forgot to put new insulators on the bottom of the front springs after lowering it. It’s great fun doing the same job twice. noob moment 🤦🏽
Never had a clunking problem until it stayed in my garage and i took it out after a month. Cruising at 30+ mph, i dont hear anything but at way slower then that, the sound is there and i cant tell if something is about to fall out and its pretty worrying. One thing of note is that my car has 270,000 miles on the tachometer
mines high miles like yours i have a 2010gt with the clunking noise i’m definitely going to check everything he told me to. it’s just annoying to hear all the time lmao
@@s197_Nate ive got a 2007 V6, idk if there is any internal difference between the pre and post facelift but same my anxiety is always through the roof hearing it
@@ohwaitchristian haha they didn’t change much chassis wise the 2010 is the same platform just the new body. what you should take out of this is it should make you feel better that you aren’t the only one who has this problem me and many others have it lmao so that makes me feel personally a bit better but i’m still going to get to the bottom of it
@@s197_Nate if you ever figure out a solution plz let me know because i dont have the money to afford a mechanic lol
I had a strange noise coming from mine, so I got a new one...( Wife)
so my issue is a subtle squeak my car makes wen braking but anything above a firm braking you hear nothing..
pads, calipers, struts and ball joints all changed recently. noise before and still after..
any advice?
Like a slight squeak when breaking gently?
@@bpifitness7406 yeah almost like if ur resting ur foot on top of the break.. very lil pressure to get the squeak..
If it's a normal press and hold on the break, nothing.
@@WONDERBREAD89 sounds pretty normal. Probably just glazed pads or rotors. You could get them machined or take sandpaper to them? Haha
Have a 06 stang , clunk noise comes from when I turn , not sure what it is , maybe the control arms ?🤔
Try spinning the wheel with the car parked, if while spinning the wheel you can hear the noise it might be the strut mounts.
Bro, I have the exact same rims on my 2014 S197 and when I make a hard u-turn it makes a grinding noise at very low speeds. What could it be?
Well grinding sounds like a week rubbing haha. Maybe a bearing?
I have a 06 V6 and any bump in the road makes a terrible loose noise. It was taken to a local shop and they replaced the shocks and struts and it was still there after? I’m incapable of actually checking to see what it could be any suggestions of what it may be.
Sounds like a sway bar issue for sure.
I bought a beast of a 2006 GT at auction that had some damage and a few things needing replaced. The first time I heard the noise, I chased it down to a bad sway bar link. Now with that repaired and more noise still there, I’m betting the sway bushings are bad since the link was REALLY bad. I’ll check it! Awesome video and the torque specs are awesome! Going to tighten it all down and figure out how to replace the bushings and go from there. THANK YOU! My wife has a ‘14 and my other is a ‘70 so we are keeping them ALL alive! LOL
My ol man had this very issue wound up being ball joint he replaced both sides and death wobble has disappeared
definitely ball joints
Did you mention tie rod ends?
Yep. That’s one of the more obvious things though cause you can feel it just by wiggling the wheel
Where can I get your front turn signal lights / DRLs from?
I ordered those from eBay 👍🏼 lots of options on there. Done it quite a few times over the years
@@bpifitness7406 Yeah, I searched and bought new ones lastly, but didn't see these. Would like them
10 years later and my s197 is finally giving in 😢
Great video.! Subscribed
Your a life savor
Great video.
You forgot the brake pads and caliper issues
Those red bushings made my car squeak going over bumps. Maybe some kind of lube?....
Just subscribed thanks a lot man 👍🏽
You’re welcome. Cheers!
Good luck!
I changed the links...where are the bushings ya replaced
Great video
Thanks
You’re welcome!
Great video damn
When I’m driving and when I turn right while doing 50+ my steering wheels vibrates and shakes
Steering rack
Drive slower around corners. ✌🏼
what wheels are those?
They’re off an 07 gt500
Hey watch your video a couple times found my noise makers thanks solve my prolbems
Glad to hear!
I have a 2016 mustang and it’s does a clunking sound on the front right side mainly when I brake on slow speeds or go slowly.
Tbh I have no experience with the s550s yet. This video is mostly targeted towards these clunky s197s haha I’ve had so many front end noise issues with these over the years. Good luck!
Hy saying nothing but facts I hate hearing my s197 making noise it’s not supposed to be
Fram oil filter. Yikes.
Yeah. I don’t recommend lol
i use the ford racing oil filter
So, it could be around 30 different things. Thanks! 🤣
I find it funny how you bypass all the problems that cause the damn noise to talk about some plastic s***
Mine creeks when I break any ideas?
Great !! But the noise i always came from the back of the car in the s197 🥲
best. vid. ever.
