This is a first for me. People sitting in with King's X. They were tight. Paul had to figure out places to throw in keys but did a great job. Felicia was amazing on guitar. She was spot on on the breaks. Great vocals also.
They got a truly magnificent sound when they played the LIMELIGHT in New York being it was an old Episcopalian church renovated into a nightclub, they sounded amazing in the 90,s when Duggy had his Mohawk!!!!!!
I remember seeing these guys back in the day at the Cat Club and Don Hill’s! They were the coolest guys- hung out and chilled with us after the shows. So glad to see this! How about Felicia and Paul’s rock credibility! Hanging with these dudes! Awesome!
Amazing show and i was shocked when they came out to join them...and Jerry's mic crash into the cymbals sounded like the gong show revisited..such a fun night from the boys.
Did Kings just happen to invite them? I can see Felecia joining but having Paul show up with the keytat that's fantastic!! Though there are other tunes the keys would really have enhanced .
Zach Morse already said what I was gonna say: Paul & The Late Night Orchestra had already learned this song back in the early 90's. He's known them for at least that long and he even asked the band what kind of tech they used for vocal harmony at a show once. Obviously, he went back to NYC & got the Orchestra to learn the song (if they hadn't before,) all without any sampling tech. Now if such is the case, my only question is why did Shaffer look or seem kinda out of his league? Now don't get me wrong, y'all. I'm not trashing Paul Shaffer here. It's only my perception, and it kinda looks a little funny when I go back and watch it again. I've been in that studio audience on eight different occasions and every one of them was a blast. To a lesser extent, to watch Letterman, the guests and what not. But in large part, the Late Night Orchestra has always been a favorite of mine. So when I saw this clip, it all came full circle based on when I first heard KX as bumper music on the Late Show. But this Shaffer kinda didn't make sense, at least to me. That is all. Now, talk amongst yourselves.🤣
lol they were only on TV together for 22 years (Late Show with David Letterman). Paul Shaffer was on late-night TV nightly for 11 years before that (Late Night with David Letterman) and was on SNL at its 1975 start. "Who on earth" lol
Always loved hearing Paul & The Band use this song as bumper music on the old Letterman show; So happy to see the guys out on the road again.
Paul was always a proponent of KX back in the day, so cool to see him here.
Felicia looked to be a legit member of the band!
This is absolutely insane. Luv these guys!
The Late Night band used to play this tune regularly going into and out of commercial breaks. I loved it.
Yea, I remember that.
Shaffer is making me cracking me up with his Shaffer moves. This real cool.
Felicia knew ALL the stops!
I thought I knew them all, but she really did!
Nailed it!

Man Felicia's Feeing those sly grooves and Dug's bass!
What a show !!! They killed it last night !!

Sounding fantastic, guys! And so happy Ty's back in action! 🙂🎸
Can’t believe how trim and fit Doug is at 71.
This was absolutely a show stopper!
We were there. Amazing show. Thank you for posting.
Wow.... Just... awesome!
Incredible show!
Sweet! Just got chills..
Ahh Glorious Return!

Thank you 🙏
Wow this is a trip! Who'd of thought.
Thank you Don Becker
There is nothing cool about a keytar, unless Paul Shaffer plays it!
Excellent

Paul, was simply... lost... as would be most humans...
He’s playing a keytar in a power trio that is completely guitar based for melody. Where would you even put keyboard in Kings X and their music?
They cancelled two shows in the U.K. I’m very disappointed with them. Because the U.K. were the first ones to get what King’s X were about.
Oh paul….
Oh Dean! Oh, hey, that Dean!! I do recall you are a fan. Awesome to see you checking in here.
Yowza!
Who? I love King’s X but who on earth are the other two?

Ahhhhh! WTF is going on here? Did I hear the word "documentary!?"
Did Paul Shaffer accidentally wander on stage? lol
Does Paul believe in Jesus?
❤
