Ty Tabor´s playing it´s soooo beautiful, original and personal that NO ONE until now could emulate him. He´s a master of the unpredictable and his solo albums are masterpieces of good taste, deep spirituality and Rock with HIGH levels of simplicity, complexity and...CLASS!
Anybody else notice what his fucking shirt says? I just noticed. God, what an amazing artist, and human being, the epitome of humbleness!! Ty, my man!! Oh, his shirt says: I DON'T PLAY FOR FAME 'nuff said . . . .
Incredible! It's so touching, in every thinkable musical aspect... If someone loves grungy rock-music, he (or she) MUST love Ty Tabor... I think, he should be called the definition of 'soul of grunge rock'. There is really nobody else, who defines this 'genre' more tasteful, more beautiful, or more meaningful than Ty does... again and again. Awesome!
Wow. The way the drums come in on these studio tracks is impressive. I didn't expect the harmonic development to take off like it did on the chorus here- much more substance than the intro suggested. Chills down the spine are always a reliable barometer for me, and they were there with this one. Had to listen again a few times in a row.
Awesome song! So catchy and poppy, yet so melancholic at the same time. The backing vocals are excellent, very Beatle-ish. And the riffs and guitar solo are just perfect. Thank you Ty Tabor for your music, you are a true inspiration to me!
There you go again TABOR. One freak'n creative LIGHT BULB of BRILLIANCE after another. To see all these segments playing with each other...so freak'n fun to watch. Thanks...AGAIN, Ty...for helping me escape from the stress that comes with life sometimes. And bringing more soundtrack to all our lives. -chris
I am a rhythm guitarrist and backing vocalist in a 90s Grunge / Hardrock / Alternative Tribute Band. We took one King's X Song into our repertoire (Dogman) and thanks to Ty Tabor's videos I became a better guitarrist when it comes to riffing and tone.
Phenomenal guitar player, but an even nicer guy in person. Got a chance to meet him in DC back in early August (2016). Saw The Jelly Jam. He and the whole band met with the fans that came out, after the show. My God he was gracious, and kind, and humble and just totally awesome. As if I already didn't have enough of a man-crush on him before then! Sheesh! Totally awesome dude!!!
One of my all-time favorites. On par with some of my favorite King's X songs. Also one of my favorite solos too. It's not terribly difficult or flashy. But it's just what is right for the song. Quite melodic and the phrasing is very interesting rhythmically. The harmonies are wonderful as usual, and the chorus is unusual as well the way the chords dip down to set up the chorus instead of leading up.
At the time of my comment, it stands at 11 dislikes, meaning that there are almost a dozen people who have seen this video that have no sense of taste or talent.
shivers and wet eyes.......great job Ty! Reminds me of the times I stayed up all night with my friend Jeremy, a drum machine, an electric guitar and a cheap 4 track making up songs.
Holy crap, Ty! This is awesome! If you ever end up in Duluth, MN and want to play this stuff live, hit me up. Not sure what compels me to type such ridiculousness, but hey - TO THE BOLD GO THE SPOILS!
Ty is what I call an ideal guitar player. No over the top playing, shredding or arpeggios just to show off. His feel for guitar is comparable to Jeff Beck's, although they couldn't be more apart in regards of playing techniques or genres. Can't get enough of either of them
Always loved this song and always wondered if the lyric 'Standing on a hill' is a Beatles reference (Fool on the hill)? Also confused about where Alien Bean Studios is located. I thought it was in Katy, TX. I know the band where all living there at some point. I just moved to Katy and was hoping to run into him someday and thank him for all the great music. Wishful thinking I guess.
It doesn't have to be the way I'm thinking It doesn't have to be my way at all And time seems to cover things but they won't go away But wouldn't you like to be Wouldn't you like to see another side besides your own Or do you like to be alone Oh, standing on the hill I hear a voice and someone's loudly speaking I hear a child who cannot have his way And time seems to cover things but they won't go away
Dug and Jerry rock for sure, but I get the feeling that Ty is/was the main creative force behind King's X (which makes sense because the guitar is/was the main musical instrument in the band, and songs basically evolve around the melody/ harmony/ rhythm of the guitar arrangement).
Not necessarily. Many songs came from dUg's initial ideas as well. But Ty is a workaholic and a seemingly endless fountain of musical ideas. He never rest for long before he starts writing again, regardless of who he might be able to work the song up with.
I don't know why but Ty's solo stuff has always got me better than KX later things. And Platypus were awesome but Jelly Jam was never like that. I think Ty and Sherinian had a magic bond in songwriting. It really was something else and of course it was a prog thing. And I heard the first X album when it came out so maybe I have some perspective. Of my own, like everyone does.

That sums it up perfectly

Ty has got this singular way to make a song : cool, hard, melodic, and excellent. Thanks for your music, Ty.
Great music.

Who needs a band when you're this talented?
Awesome song! So catchy and poppy, yet so melancholic at the same time. The backing vocals are excellent, very Beatle-ish. And the riffs and guitar solo are just perfect. Thank you Ty Tabor for your music, you are a true inspiration to me!
Naomi's Solar Pumpkin is my fave Ty solo record. Love this tune

It`s a disgrace how overlooked he is. Been a fan since 2000. Please come to Norway Ty, I`m waiting!
Utterly splendid guitarist
The most under rated singer/ song writer/ composer/ guitarist ever. Ty is a musical genius...Kings X is my favorite band up there with the Beatles...
When im sad Ty turns it all around. God bless ya
Man o man this is great .
I learn something every time I visit. Nice bass brother.

The One Man Fab Four. Go Ty
Unique artist. Period!
This, is songwriting people. The formula works. And he pulls it all off as if he's barely working at it. Pure tasty talent, must be a gift from above.
Fantastic rocker Ty !!! Another great one from you !!!
Awesome... once again you move me. Keep it going! You are such a hero to me and so many. Much love brother.
My favourite song of yours. The DVD is great, you guys be sure to pick it up.

It doesn't have to be the way I'm thinking
It doesn't have to be my way at all
And time seems to cover things
but they won't go away
But wouldn't you like to be
Wouldn't you like to see another side besides your own
Or do you like to be alone
Oh, standing on the hill
I hear a voice and someone's loudly speaking
I hear a child who cannot have his way
And time seems to cover things
but they won't go away
Proof that in the right hands an Epiphone can rock just as hard as a Gibson
Supreme

That fucking tone! No one has that tone. You know it's Ty within a few chords or a solo.
I’ve listened to this many times. Amazing song. Love it so much. Wolfgang has nothing on you playing everything plus his songs suck lol
