- Jeff sits down to unbox and take a first look at The Plum Island Horror, from GMT Games, and designed by Jeff's very good friend Hermann Luttmann. The game tasks players with defending an isle from mutated horrors while also trying to evacuate as many civilians as they can. The Plum Island Horror is for one to four players, ages 14+, plays in around 35 minutes per player, and carries an MSRP of $95.00.

I have pre-ordered this through my local gaming store based on your videos. I love GMT games and zombies so how could I go wrong!?
Keep up the great content, Jeff!
Hope you enjoy it! And thanks for the kind words! ~ Jeff
Gorgeous design & artwork. I look forward to the review.
Happy Birthday Jeff!
Good thing I survived the Plum Island disaster a few years back; it was quite a shocking post-birthday surprise. Hehehehe! ~ Jeff
Thanks Jeff! A terrific and detailed unboxing.
Thank you kindly!
Looks like fun.
That unboxing came quickly!
And I wasn't disappointed. This looks like really good fun. The board is great and seems very clear. As you say, illustrations and graphics are very well done. Loving the 50s/60s (and later… I'm looking at you: 'N'ick Grimes!) TV references.
Looks as though losing the island to the horrors will be just as much fun as saving it.
Great unboxing. Thanks a million!
The Vault-Keeper was the other EC horror host... he was in the Vault of Horror, as would make sense. ;-)
Ive read some initial imprssions saying the game is a bit too easy... which isnt what you want in a solo/co op game.
Interesting, seeing one game Hermann's well known for is Dawn of the Zeds which certainly isn't a pushover to survive. ~ Jeff
@@Thegaminggang yeah, he has stated that its less punishing than that game.... he also said there is an expansion on the way for plum island that will ramp up the difficulty to 'nightmare mode.' If the base game doesn't provide sufficient challenge though, it wont hold my interest for long, which is why I'm a little hesitant to buy it right now.
I’m looking for a good horror rpg to play with the wife, I’ll check this one out!
This isn't an TTRPG; it's a board game. It looks like it's a blast - and it's designed by a great designer who also happens to be a great pal - but it's not an RPG. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of that. ~ Jeff
@@Thegaminggangthanks Jeff, I see that you are in fact correct and I need to pay attention more next time.

For a horror TTRPG check out Monster of the Week. It's a great storytelling system for new and experienced players. Each game is one to two nights of play only. But you can build longer campaigns if you like.
Good luck!
Try Call of Cthulhu or Deadlands for good horror. Vaesen is great too. You can get boxed sets with rules, starting adventures and often figure flats/standies - all you need to start off.
