After watching the debate last night, I really feel like it would be beneficial to both parties to have any potential presidential candidate have to play this game in one sitting, with no bathroom breaks, no phone or watch, and blackout curtains on the windows. Maybe give them a cup of water and an energy bar.

I haven't finished the setup video let alone the actual gameplay videos and I've already stuck a P500 order in for the second edition on the GMT website.
Im thinking about ordering 227 copies and cancelling 226 orders when they start production...

Great set up video - I picked up a couple of minor things I didn't do - I am in the middle of my first game - 1/4 way through the second year. As you noted on the set up cascading card, there are some unclear wordings in the game - whilst I agree with Mike that the rules say don't spend the AP, the card states you may spend AP to do the military move. To me, if you don't have APs to spend that means you can't do the movement of the military units...... I remember another table result which states - "do X to option A, option B, or option C or option D". I don't have the actual detail to hand, but the wording suggests there are 3 options (A&B or C or D) but if that were the case it should be an & not a comma. So should the first "," be replaced with an Or? Aside from minor niggles like this, the game is a massive achievement
I agree that the sandbox is the best way to learn the game…..the other scenarios are good after doing all three sandbox complexities.
A 4 hour setup video? This is beyond "heavy".
I went to look this up because it looks so good, but does it really have a giant second edition logo on the front?
Dunno. Haven’t gotten the second edition.
I tried a counter tray but could not fit all of the items in the box…. So I did a similar bagging …. Much better

I have this game a few months and have not opened it. You make it sound that it can be handled but with so many steps and charts does it feel like doing a chore or is it fun and enjoyable?

The changes/errata for 2nd edition is definitely numerous, but the first edition is perfectly fine. But if you don’t mind waiting, I’d say just wait. But you don’t HAVE to

@Heavycardboard Please stop making me spend money on cardboard. Plz plz plz dedicate a month or two to munckins so i can pay my rent and eat something else then discarded punch boards... Worst part is that theres not even enough punch boards for a full meal in this one !!!
My wife won’t stop sighing when she walks by my new bedroom. It’s full of scotch and mr. president. Never felt so confident in my life as making these fake life decisions as a president.
