I love that overlapping Indycar - Formula 1 engagement of McLaren. This would have been impossible at Ecclestone times. Thank you Indycar, Liberty Media and McLaren.
Perfect ! What a great opportunity to hear this perspective of Indy history, Bruce McClaren history, and the marked historic improvements that brought the sport heads and tails forward thanks to all of these incredible racers ! Thank you gentlemen !
Could've listened to Mario talk forever . . . . . and for a while, I thought I was going to have to. LOL! Would've been nice to hear more from JR. But still, an enjoyable piece to watch.
What a neat interview! Two great legends in motor sport racing: Mario and J.R. J.R.'s a favorite with me along with Mario. That COVD mask of Johnny's is a one of a kind, I think. I have seen these two guys a few times in person at I.M.S. and Atlanta. Some years ago I was at the Indy Speedway Museum and Johnny was there talking to some reporters about the new exhibit of a late 1950's "Gasoline Alley Garage " of Tony Bettenhausen's car and the items that were in that garage. I wish I had gotten the time to chat a little with him. Bruce McLaren - what a legend. He and I were born on the same day and month...my "claim to fame"?
Well, Bart...It looks good. You may have been thinking tenderly, at the time, of A.J. Foyt and a few other famous drivers of the past at that time while making Johnny's. Texas had several, you know. The famous Lloyd Ruby was one who should have won Indy. Thanks for the reply.
so awesome to find this rv, as talk with both of these legends in motorsports. JR is very long time friend of mine, say hi. Have met Mario also at races too.
I love these stories about the historic people of the McLaren team like Bruce McLaren, Tyler Alexander and Teddy Mayer. I want to talk again with this people about the historie of my favorit team.
Check out the UA-cam video of "One lap of IMS with Mario Andretti" video. This was circa 1966 in the Dean Van Lines Brawner Hawk. A real study of "Iron Men in Wooden Ships."
That's why he only won it once, pure luck. He drove his cars into the ground and didn't know how to win Indy. His son was the same way. And Marco has zero talent and will never win either. He'll crash out. There is no "Andretti Curse". They curse themselves.

Nobody brings it to the fans like McLaren. Having Zak with the american motorsports experience and knowing fan engagement is amazing.
Thanks 👍
This segment was really fun to watch. Really enjoyed hearing the stories from these two racing legends.
"This is gonna be Zack Brown version of the David Letterman night show" 😂 Love it 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks for this..I grew up loving Formula one and Indy Cars in the 70's/80's and these two were true Gentleman and legends. Cheers.
Mario Andretti: The consummate gentleman. He's done it all and still remains down to earth and very fan friendly.

"That COVD mask of Johnny's is a one of a kind, I think." It is. My wife and I made it for him.

Legends that are still with us

Poor Johnny cannot get a word in... That said, this is awesome..
Zak-Great job, better than Letterman. You let them talk without interruption. Thanks!

Legends ❤️🏎🏁
I wish Mario would let Johnny talk. Next time interview Mario by himself.
so to all of your comments,do any of you know who Bruce was,and from where??
Where can I get Zacs face mask from? I’m in the UK
Look on the official Indianapolis Motor Speedway website. I saw them when I went to the museum a few weeks ago.
If Mario would run in a cars with today’ reliability I don’t know how many Indy500s he would’ve won 🤔

You cannot not like Zak.
You cannot not like Mclaren
Tell that to Otmar Szafnauer 😉
Wearing a max.
Hate masks.
Agreed, no need for the masks.
It's okay to not wear the masks during the interview.
Its a state/indy requirement to wear a mask in the public even if you are doing a Interview.
Not if your a sheeple. You must abide by the herd and your masters.
