- Earlier this year I met up with McLaren Racing CEO, Zak Brown, for a tour of his personal collection at United Autosports! Everything from Formula 1 to WRC, this collection has everything!

Ayrton and Mika's cars are my favorites. Senna will always be my favorite driver. I Saw him and (place other legends names here) race in Detroit 3 times

Out of all the cars it's probably Senna his kart. For two reasons.
1. It's a true open wheeler without side protection to protect the wheels. Thus you had to learn to be respectful to other drivers and learn to guage the width of your kart and position on track. Not to forget that you learn the horrible consequences of mistakes real fast, and having that engraved at that early age is important. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
2. It's as barebones as a kart can get, and in this Colin Champman-esque light kart Senna displayed his incredible talent for the first time.
The world needs a conversation between Zak and Seb talking about f1 history.

@@KiddinaSweetShop What a collection, thanks for showing us. Great to see Mclaren is being taken care of by an enthusiast rather than a wall street type. Bruce Mclaren is a hero here in New Zealand, it would be great to see something iconically NZ on a new car. The Mclaren logo is great but the style makes it differcult for some to see the Kiwi connection.

Wow, He is just like Leno in the sense that he actually knows the history of basically every car he's ever owned. Mad respect. Also, I got goosebumps seeing him standing next to Ayrton Senna's cart.
Thankfully that’s where the comparisons end. Zak doesn’t come off as an asshole.

The more I see of Zak the more I like him. When he first arrived at McLaren I was very skeptical but he's taken the team from strength to strength. Loved the recent race he drove against Lando and Danny during the Sky F1 coverage. He comes across as a very geniune guy. What a great collection and thank you Jodie for sharing it with us.

I'm pretty sure Zak is excited about maybe getting to drive it too. He was saying he hasn't had the chance to drive it yet, and he was hoping Daniel would do it by the US Grand Prix.
I'm pretty sure Daniel is gonna be tearing up a little bit when he drives Dale's car. Daniel's a huge Nascar and Dale fan, for sure we'll see like back in the days where Hamilton drove Senna's car. Is just emotional.
The fact that as an adult he actually managed to locate and buy THE car that got him into racing as little kid is amazing
Amazing is that people can spend that insane amounts of money on this kind of shit. And I'm saying this as a life F1 fan + I'm not a really young guy.

I have to admit, I was dubious of an American becoming CEO of McLaren, having see this video, I'm sure Bruce McLaren is looking down with a smile on his face, top man Zak, just who the team needed.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. Zak has brought something truly special to McLaren, he is a good leader.

The more I see of Zak the more of a top guy I think he is. He’s such a great addition to Mclaren and F1
Zac deserves a future F1 championship, with the effort, passion and professionalism he has personally put into McLaren.
As good as Zak is, Mclaren losing Adrian Newey is their biggest loss. They haven't been the same since.

This came to light to me when Danny Ric said he had a bet with Zak that if he gets a podium, Zak will let him drive Dale Earnhardt's NASCAR
He’s been collecting for a while and it is impressive and holds its overall value
I'm loving Zak as CEO of my favorite F1 team, ever since he took charge the team has been on a rise and the spirit is completely different, more relaxed, fun and enjoyable, but still professional and set on realistic goals. Plus he seems to be a humble guy that is a real petrol head in love for the Mclaren brand.

As a racing fan, I always marvel at people that know the details of the cars, the drivers and the races the cars won. I know of the cars, but the details of it's history always escapes me
My favorite car would be any sports car that raced in LeMans, Sebring, Daytona and any of those type of races.
I'm the exact same honestly, it's always an amazing experience watching somebody recap details like that so casually
Now Daniel is going to turn up with a new car in the next race. Since the current one won in Monza, it naturally is now part of Zack's collection 😉
I think even Zak would consider letting Daniel keep that one, should he want it.

I remember when Zak was absolutely hated by r/foruma1 and pretty much all of social media after he replaced Ron Dennis. Now everyone loves him.
I hated Ron Dennis so was glad Zak came in.
My favorite cars in Zak's collection: Ayrton's 1991 McLaren and Emmo Fitipaldi's 1989 Indycar that won the Indy500

This man lives and breaths motorsport. Perfect man to be leading McLaren.
I did not expect Zak to have a Holden, as a Kiwi it really makes me proud our little v8 racers have made such a name for themselves internationally. Such a beautiful car, and the fact Zak said he enjoys driving it makes me happy.
Never knew he was so passionate about cars and motorsport history, let alone actually drove and won a race!

Out of all the cars he has, the Sainz Cossie is by far my favorite. I've always loved older Cossies, and the fact it's orange and white is another plus for me.

I really give props to Zak for getting Mclaren out of their downward trend in recent years. Tbh I didn't think they would be this far this early they've have made really big steps in short time and I think they will improve even further to fight for wins on pace on some tracks. He really is a motorsports fan and not just a business man. I think most or all people in F1 like F1 but not everyone is a fan. Also he is not british which is somewhat refreshing. Sounds a little weird watching this video hearing an american accent talk about F1 since I'm so used to hear a british accent in the context of F1.

I just love that United Autosports is based in Wakefield (the forgotten home of motorsport). Maybe after the video Zak took Jodie in to Wakey for a Greggs butty?

I had no idea about the Wheel of Fortune thing or that he had a collection, but, the second I saw this I knew he had to have something from Dale Sr. What an amazing car to have and I'm sure Daniel's smile will be bigger than ever when he gets to drive it.

Zak has such a beautiful car collection and is such a passionate racer. I saw him win that Ferrari Challenge race in Montreal in 2008 and I also saw him make his Formula Atlantic debut at New Hampshire International Speedway all the way back in 1993.
zak is probably the most likeable team boss from all of them.

I LOVE Formula 1, I LOVE Indycar, but I'm a proud son of North Carolina and seeing that Dale Earnhardt NASCAR took my breath away. I love that it's being held as an incentive for Daniel to get a podium.
When Zak says "every car in my collection", (might just be me lols) but he is sounding rather "british" bit by bit haha. Sweet video!

I didn't realise Brown was so wealthy, glad to see he's using his wealth wisely. Spectacular collection of cars.
Does he have an ownership stake in McLaren? It doesn't look like he needs to work for a salary.
I think he was about to talk about how it all started (winning Wheel of Fortune and selling the prizes??) but he was interupted and the moment passed - I know from other interviews that he got there by hard work and tenacity but would love to know the full story, he's a prime example of work hard, play hard.
What a lovely chap he is, really grown on me this season too.

Had a hard week and this was just what I needed after this day to make it a bit better . Formula video + listening to the music I like (Delta Parole, Metallica and other) make me feel the speed and excitement!

Williams did that with one of Damon Hills cars in their museum - it was Schumacher's tyre mark (from Adelaide maybe?) ... and one day a new entusiastic cleaner thought it was a dirt mark and cleaned it off!

I might be biased because it was the era I grew up with , but the very late 80's,early 90's cars were best looking cars ever built. F1 , Indycar , group c sportscars all looked amazing .
