Just remember, everyone has to start somewhere, for those criticising the show, this show was Larry's window into entertainment, he met Richards here, valuable contact one, then he got the SNL writing gig based off of this where he met Julia, valuable contact two and because he had two TV credits when Seinfeld wanted his vehicle and Larry was called upon he was given the green light because despite him playing down he had no experience he'd been at the TV game since 1980, all of this helped get Seinfeld made.
@@presto709 No, Michael Richards was on this show, Fridays, so Larry met him before Julia. Julia wasn't on this she was on SNL which Larry was a writer on for one single year during Julia's tenure. Fridays was an attempt to rival SNL and it failed.
@@JohnBloggs-m8l I remember Fridays and I thought Michael Richards was terrible at the time. He did this sketch where he was a kid in a sandbox and I thought it was torture to watch and yet it became a regular segnite.
I watched this occasionally because I believe pain and suffering is good for you spiritually. Although Melanie Chartoff blunted the hard edge of the pain.
I feel like such an idiot for thinking he'd have the same sounding voice as he does now in his old years. Somehow I thought the croaky voice wasn't a byproduct of age, but rather an explicit feature akin to Jewish people.
@@JohnBloggs-m8l Wow! Look, Larry David on Curb always says Pretty, Pretty, Pretty Good. That was the joke I was making, not necessarily making a real judgment on it. Again, it's your opinion whether you find it funny or not.

LD's hand motions and facial expressions are just like on curb. Larry was meant to be 70 years old his entire life.
He and Bernie Sanders have the same parents apparently.
😆
who wouldve known this guy would create 2 of the best tv shows of all time....
Season 9 out Now!
Curb your enthusiasm and Curb your Enthusiasm
Seinfeld
And get FU rich before he's 50!
Curb sure, Seinfeld is a bit of a stretch. That's barely mediocre
LD is more attractive now then back in the day, how can that be.
His hair was shit back then, his head looks better than his hair lol
Some men look better when they get older
Theresa Shaw now he has money spend on a makeup girl
Theresa Shaw should have kept his hair cut short on the back and sides, this shit was outta control
he's got rich, some men look better when they get richer
Larry David is like a fine wine, he keeps getting better with age.
Gross
Larry's hairline never stood a chance
Which hairline? The left one or the right one?
Bound to be bald.😂😂
That phonecall could have been a scene from curb your enthusiasm
Fatwa!! 😁
that's Kramer (Michael Richards) voice doing Gaddafi

Kudos to Larry, who could have taken the easy way out and taken a job with the USPS and called it a day. Like his parents wanted him to.

He lives Curb storyline his whole life.
Funny how Larry's voice got so high pitched with age
i was just thinking about how strangely unrecognizable his voice is
In 1981 I was 26 yo and always thinking about Melanie Chartoff. I treated my body like it was an amusement park.
😹💀😹💀😹
Oh Georgey
Like Bourbon Street 😂
You could sell out Madison Square Garden
I don't know what Larry David is complaining about all the time. He looked terrible when he had hair. Baldness suits him.
That's because he's heavily balding here. He doesn't have a full head of hair.

Who?
"I was walking...down a one way street...just a looking...for someone to meet..." one of the greatest bands ever!
Yup. The Grateful Who

Larry looked like Napoleon Dynamite :)
Melanie had the prettiest smile

like a cross between kramer and george costanza
Will Neill LMAO so true
Each character from Seinfeld has a little bit (or a big chunk) of LD :D
I never knew LD existed till curb . In my top 3 shows all time
Yeah I agree--- Larry should thank god that he went bald----cuz his look here was tragic
He’s bald here
Melanie! Fellow West Havener here. Grew up still living off of Jones Hill rd
I forgot Melanie Chartoff played Musso in Parker Lewis Can't Lose. She looked even better in that,
Greg Brosh only reason I watch that show was Melanie
This was *pretty* good....pretty, pretty, pretty good..... ;)
NO...no it wasn't...
3 members of the Friday's cast appeared on one episode of Seinfeld with the 4th and 5th Richards becoming a regular and David a writer
Oh shit! Are those the same glasses!!!
Haha! There’s an interview in which he mentions he’s been wearing the same specs since the 80’s.
2:24, “butcher boy!” Just like the mohel in Seinfeld
Fun fact: Melanie is an inventor. She invented a device that recycles shower and sink grey water for use in flushing toilets.
What a transformation that man has gone through.
If you look at him the right way, you can see through his hair to the current LD. It's like a Magic Eye picture
Seems like he's had the same glasses for over 30 years lol
