I just managed to ascend Bodica and made all speciality and im sticking with her! By the time I change another assistant general ascended and applied speciality another general will appear. So it is not worth it to keep changing generals for the sake of Evony's greed .
I'm a fan of *Boudica* because she's so easy to get, easy to Ascend and, IF you start the game hunting Monsters, as _most_ people I know do then she ties in wth you owning Cav as by far your best and most numerous troop type. Yes, as you go up Keep levels/Power you start to face _many_ more heavy Archer attacks (in fact they're probably most people's default around early-mid K30s) then after that you're facing ALL Troop types and a Siege softening which means a further big change, but _up to K31-K32_ I think *Boudica* is a good choice to use that Cav and have a 3-4 Red Star General instead of a 1 or 2 Red Stars at best on the Wall... IF you have those T12/13 even T14 Cav masses from your Monster hunts. I suppose the fact that even though I have a 'thick-ish' T1 wall it's not as thick as most (or probably should be) yet I do have Millions of high T number Cav that I can't Ghost so _will_ benefit from the big percentage buffs *Boudica* brings, so I fall into your 'actually she may be OK if you aren't fully F2P'... all my Sub cities have Range attack debuff generals with as much ranged attach debuff gear as I can get so I'm following your suggestion... All that said I can't fault your mathematical logic for the vast majority of people (or if I balanced my troop numbers better for PvP instead of still being top heavy for monsters)... and as I'm no longer F2P again I'm not the target audience really 🤣

However _IF_ you are actually using a proper Cav Defence (preferably in combination with some good Ranged Debuff Generals in your Subs of course) she is playable in that role and you have strong thick layers of T12-T14 Mounted, where her percentages _will_ be effective over and above your Marching 'Attack Cav'
@@liranamram1715 Archers prioritze Cavs. So if you are attacked by archers, they will only target your mounted troops until they are all gone. The reason why you still have wounds on your archers is from "Counterattack" damage. This happens because YOUR archers attack their archers and receive wounds. It's a difficult concept to understand. But that's how the game works
I've been playing for over a year as a f2p and I've got martinus fully ascended because he was more available in my tavern compared to Roland and hannibal , same goes to minamoto , I like your approach to it but i already invested alot in them to switch at this point
Oddly, I got *Roland* easily but it took me ages to get *Hannibal* (who most seem to get early) and *Martinus* ... in fact I know very few who got *Martinus* easily _except_ when I read UA-cam comments. With *Martinus* having his skin (I had a spending spree) and obviously his dragon I'm still a big fan... and I know he's weak on March Size which is why *Washington Prime* is his Assist, with good March Size without Ascending, since the Ascended doesn't count on Assists... and it's amazing how many people playing for ages who are hugely experienced don't know that bit... I got *Custer* at the same time as *Roland* and he too I found easy to get more Fragments for (at least at first), and a few I know prefer him to *Roland* because *Roland* seems to have more skill clashes with Assists. As an aside, *Martinus* would miss his sister if she wasn't there fighting alongside him, so *Elektra* (also skinned with dragon) is my Archer General 😉 - yes *Martinus* and *Elektra* are brother and sister. ... and I only got *Winfield Scott* (that I can remember) the first time TODAY and I've got *Elektra* enough time/fragments to have her at 3 red stars... it does seem so odd how people's experiences of how difficult some generals are to get varies *SO MUCH* I suppose if I hadn't fluked a 0.13% chance and got a third dragon (I still don't have Wonder 1) and was limited on where to put my two dragons (my *Elise* fluked a 0.01% Divination of Fate chance to get her skin so she leads my ground) I would be considering generals that didn't need dragons to optimise much more seriously!
Martinus was the best like a year ago because basically nobody paired with roland/Hannibal. Now with Washington and massena pairing with them he's lost alot of value. He's still very good if you need the rally cap buffs
Roland is in about 75% of the relics I smash. He is not worth blowing gems for in the tavern, when the fragments are basically free along with all the other stuff from relics.
Great job with providing data to back your opinion. One thing to mention or show would be the effectiveness based on the march type. The eame points arent applied when reinforcing versus in rally versus attacking snd so on. I think that is a key area to show because while one general may be better at attacking, they may not be better at attacking snd reinforcing. Just referencing this because for a F2P, its best to maximize one general for multiple types of attacking than solely on one.
I agree with what you are saying, there are plenty of Generals available that just don't cut the mustard. There is plenty of waste when it involves powering up Generals, as wasteful as General Gear can be. However, free to play method requires us to capture as much of the "easy" to obtain Generals and capture as much power & percentages possible. You can't spread it around as coiners do or you just spin your wheels and get nowhere fast. Select one General, maybe two the max, don't deviate from your plan, follow it through to completion.If it is not the right General for you at least you have a General for Duty Officer that is easier to get to Super status. Also, you maybe lucky enough to select a couple that hold a Covenant with one of those Prime Epic Historic Generals. How many players recently are searching the Tavern for Washington? The Bonus of the feature being you don't require skill books or cultivation to get the covenant, it is about raising the base stats. I feel that it is important because there is a large amount of parity across Servers. The only way that a free to play guy can have an impact is to have as many fully ascended Generals as well as Specialty completed. Aah Specialty, another one of those things where you only get so far due to needing a higher level runestone. That's my rant, keep the great content flowing, thanks.
I've seen recently that big players use ground march against T1 wall, and a powerfull ground march eradicate T1 mounted wall, if you don't have cavs for defending. So in this case QB would really help. I've seen this in SvS and in Battlefield. Once again, we talk about free to play players, who hardly reach few B.
that's a good question, with the way the mechanics work defending mounted will attack the ground before the ground troops can attack, so the goal is to have your T1 wall strong enough to kill them in one round, so to increase your attack you can either use high tier mounted with boudica, or have flat refines and build a crazy amount of T1s. The major issue here is - for a pure t1 trap keep, you dont need def and hp for ranged and siege, and look at those numbers from Richard, its a waste. And for medium-low coiners who used t1 cavs as a defense strategy, still Boudica will buff not just t1 but all t1-t14(15/16) cavs. And we all know the melee def and hp are quite important for a bigger keep.
This video is fantastic. It's refreshing to see someone go through the math to the same extent that I did early on. It's why I chose Roland, Trajan, and Elektra at first. Since then, I've changed out Trajan for Elise and Roland for Poligenus from ToK (although it's not recommended for F2P players because you have to choose between ascending someone useful vs. maintaining your BoA inventory). These calculations are also how I choose assistant generals (Washington Prime, Suchet, and Charles XII). One thing about Red Evony's video that I think is missing/incorrect - defending buffs. He mentioned they weren't showing up for Idunn and Freya in the scout reports. I've seen many cases where a scout report on a temple/building shows a set of buffs, but they increase once you actually attack. My thought is that defending buffs only get activated during battle. Otherwise, everything else he said is spot on.

Those T1s will work with whoever you put on the Wall though as you can give them 'flat refine' gear that actually makes the difference where the %ages rom the General will only do so on the high level troops.
I think she's pretty decent for massive keeps who want their cav hp very high but even then I think you're better off going a siege main and li naomasa assistant. I used to use that but Issac Brock is so op for ground its hard not to use him
I can understand your logic. But you know, when you become around 8b in size, you're gonna need the cavalry buff. If you check the strong players, their refines are percentage on cavalry. That's why, Boudica, focusing on the Cavalry, makes her very good. I get your point on Richard, yeah, total buff, he can compete with those strong premium generals. In fact, few days ago, I was checking Shajar how good she is as she can buff every troops. I just learned from you, in your previous video, that Richard is the same or better. Yeah, if I had known him, he's probably one of my suggestion to my alliance. He's like, when you ascend him fully, then it's like you have ascended a wall general and unlocked all specialties. The good thing about him is when you sell him just in case you got a chance to get a better wall general, then you can get back most of what you spend on him. Another good thing about him is he's second to Leonidas on leadership(HP) and Defense cultivation stats. Pretty cool for a free general. I haven't checked all, but I think Leonidas has the best cultivation stats. I think what we need is to classify the defensive buffs into the tier list. For me: Tier A: Cavalry and Ground HP and Def, and Siege Attack Tier B: Siege HP and Def, and Archer, Ground and Cavalry Attack Tier C: Range HP and Defense In this list, since most of Boudica's buffs are in tier A and B, makes her on higher tier. On the other hand, around half of Richard's buff is on tier B and C, so it makes him in the middle.
For a high tier defense with high buffs she is amazing, but if you're f2p you probably don't have those buffs. I see a lot of people using her because they think she helps T1 traps

There's no 100% perfect to have a good general, some are hard to get fragment, keep in mind that going to k36 need 2 general of 5.8m power so having gen like Boudicca is a good option, easy to ascend & free frag on relic, some player have no patience to go beyond k35
You can get her in the Tavern too.. or at least you could a week or so ago. That also depends on the lv of your Tavern on what generals are available to you; from what I've noticed
Ain't gonna be defending in a long time, so got time to shuffle wall gens around yet. So far I haven't invested any BOA to wall gens, so I'm still able to change my mind, but at the moment I feel like maybe trying to aim red-starring Richard. Would Zach be terrible choice for his assistant? As for march-pvp, I'm still in mind to take that Minamoto-Genghis combo all the way, since my goal is to be monster-support guy mostly. I’ve coined plenty to get where I’m at in the game. Until napoleon and Andrea we released, fully ascended Marty was my cav general. His attack is still decent…. For a FTP, nothing wrong with him. Literally nothing. We can agree to disagree

good question, Martinus will do a good job as a monster hunter because his damage is almost the same as Roland, Hannibal won't do as much damage, but if you go for slightly smaller monsters then he will do fine.

It's a lot of runestones. I wouldn't recommend upgrading her tbh, unless you have literally every other general you need upgraded. I don't have any solutions for reducing consumption other than upgrading your research and not opening your food boxes.
I ran the numbers and should have a video in a day or two. Sigurd has slightly higher damage, Ragnar has slightly higher survivability. Both are top tier generals. Of the two Ragnar will be easier to use, a lot of sigurds damage and MS is locked behind his 5th star

Yes they have higher damage for a late game march, if you've already invested in simeon then you should calculate how much different the damage would be for your specific march and decide if it's worth it to swap

Regarding cav generals, you are not taking into account HP. If HP enters the equation, Li Naomasa and Hannibal are actually very good for pvp. In fact, Li Naomasa comes on top for pvp, even if he is not as good as a monster general. Defense is meaningless, but HP is very important. A Li Naomasa/Washington Prime combo would be a very strong PvP march. Same goes for range, where Tomyris will come on top with Elektra in second, although Elektra is probably a better cav sniper general. For ground, Elise and Trajan are a no-brainer.
You speak t1 trap so you must focus only one type troops, t1 trap no need the buff ℅, all general defense or debuff general worth it to use with flat refine.
All of the alternatives I suggested are available in the same locations as these ones, but if you actually watched the video then you would have known that lol

Youve said something that is not true, range do attack your range, even if not all your cavs are dead. And thats a fact, look at battle reports if you want. They will just go first after the cav but when the archers are also on there range they will attack them also even if not all the cavs are dead. Unlike ground that archers wont attack them after all archers and cavs are dead.
As a t1 trap keep I use Boudica and defended against a k45. Another player similar to my size uses Leo as a wall general and could not defend against same k45. I'm good with her. 😉
I'm sorry, but this is a very naive comment. Just because someone has the same power as you do, does not mean you are built the same for defense. Your other player with Leo most likely doesn't have flat refines with a properly layered T1 wall.....that's a big difference. Please make sure you're actually performing an "apples-to-apples" comparison before you comment.
If you want to properly test it you need to have the same player try with both generals and have the same attacker with the same generals and troops attack. Preferably against the four types of marches three times each, but only testing a ranged march will do
Any possibility of doing a video on when premium general is comparable to a fully ascended free general & worth swapping? I'd love to bind & replace my Minamoto but fragments are so hard to get for premium generals & therefore can only ascend to 2 or maybe 3 red stars at most.

Could you add Isaac Brock to the Defense General stats? He seems pretty strong.
Once I marched against a player that used Boudica + Li Naomasa on wall and it had a pretty solid cav defense with lots of t1

Debuff gens work really well on wall for t1 traps
I think she's pretty decent for massive keeps who want their cav hp very high but even then I think you're better off going a siege main and li naomasa assistant. I used to use that but Issac Brock is so op for ground its hard not to use him

I can understand your logic. But you know, when you become around 8b in size, you're gonna need the cavalry buff. If you check the strong players, their refines are percentage on cavalry. That's why, Boudica, focusing on the Cavalry, makes her very good. I get your point on Richard, yeah, total buff, he can compete with those strong premium generals. In fact, few days ago, I was checking Shajar how good she is as she can buff every troops. I just learned from you, in your previous video, that Richard is the same or better. Yeah, if I had known him, he's probably one of my suggestion to my alliance. He's like, when you ascend him fully, then it's like you have ascended a wall general and unlocked all specialties. The good thing about him is when you sell him just in case you got a chance to get a better wall general, then you can get back most of what you spend on him. Another good thing about him is he's second to Leonidas on leadership(HP) and Defense cultivation stats. Pretty cool for a free general. I haven't checked all, but I think Leonidas has the best cultivation stats.
I think what we need is to classify the defensive buffs into the tier list.
For me:
Tier A: Cavalry and Ground HP and Def, and Siege Attack
Tier B: Siege HP and Def, and Archer, Ground and Cavalry Attack
Tier C: Range HP and Defense
In this list, since most of Boudica's buffs are in tier A and B, makes her on higher tier. On the other hand, around half of Richard's buff is on tier B and C, so it makes him in the middle.
For a high tier defense with high buffs she is amazing, but if you're f2p you probably don't have those buffs. I see a lot of people using her because they think she helps T1 traps

There's no 100% perfect to have a good general, some are hard to get fragment, keep in mind that going to k36 need 2 general of 5.8m power so having gen like Boudicca is a good option, easy to ascend & free frag on relic, some player have no patience to go beyond k35
You can get her in the Tavern too.. or at least you could a week or so ago. That also depends on the lv of your Tavern on what generals are available to you; from what I've noticed

good question, Martinus will do a good job as a monster hunter because his damage is almost the same as Roland, Hannibal won't do as much damage, but if you go for slightly smaller monsters then he will do fine.

It's a lot of runestones. I wouldn't recommend upgrading her tbh, unless you have literally every other general you need upgraded. I don't have any solutions for reducing consumption other than upgrading your research and not opening your food boxes.

I ran the numbers and should have a video in a day or two. Sigurd has slightly higher damage, Ragnar has slightly higher survivability. Both are top tier generals. Of the two Ragnar will be easier to use, a lot of sigurds damage and MS is locked behind his 5th star

We must not know anything. So your telling me elektra and Winfield Scott effective damage is higher than simeon 😢. I just picked this up now cause want a second archer general with new dragon going to cav.
Yes they have higher damage for a late game march, if you've already invested in simeon then you should calculate how much different the damage would be for your specific march and decide if it's worth it to swap

Regarding cav generals, you are not taking into account HP. If HP enters the equation, Li Naomasa and Hannibal are actually very good for pvp. In fact, Li Naomasa comes on top for pvp, even if he is not as good as a monster general. Defense is meaningless, but HP is very important. A Li Naomasa/Washington Prime combo would be a very strong PvP march. Same goes for range, where Tomyris will come on top with Elektra in second, although Elektra is probably a better cav sniper general. For ground, Elise and Trajan are a no-brainer.
And this also matters for debuff. Debuffing HP is super important.
You speak t1 trap so you must focus only one type troops, t1 trap no need the buff ℅, all general defense or debuff general worth it to use with flat refine.
Yeah just spend $2000 and buy new general. But they are better yes. But they cost a lot. 😆

Youve said something that is not true, range do attack your range, even if not all your cavs are dead. And thats a fact, look at battle reports if you want.
They will just go first after the cav but when the archers are also on there range they will attack them also even if not all the cavs are dead.
Unlike ground that archers wont attack them after all archers and cavs are dead.
The damage you are seeing is counter attack damage. I would recommend Derrick Defies on YT for more info on the mechanics of PvP
As a t1 trap keep I use Boudica and defended against a k45. Another player similar to my size uses Leo as a wall general and could not defend against same k45. I'm good with her. 😉
I'm sorry, but this is a very naive comment. Just because someone has the same power as you do, does not mean you are built the same for defense.
Your other player with Leo most likely doesn't have flat refines with a properly layered T1 wall.....that's a big difference.
Please make sure you're actually performing an "apples-to-apples" comparison before you comment.

If you want to properly test it you need to have the same player try with both generals and have the same attacker with the same generals and troops attack. Preferably against the four types of marches three times each, but only testing a ranged march will do
Any possibility of doing a video on when premium general is comparable to a fully ascended free general & worth swapping? I'd love to bind & replace my Minamoto but fragments are so hard to get for premium generals & therefore can only ascend to 2 or maybe 3 red stars at most.
