Great video. Always great to hear from a Sconnie, or someone who has lived here! First, I agree in many respects for a younger person, especially considering how fast journalism and content have changed over the years. I retired after 22 years in the military and 25 years total working in various capacities in technology. Interesting that I decided to head back to school later in life and am studying communications and journalism. I think if you can find a decent rate, in addition to balancing the art of telling a story with real-life knowledge, it can still work out. Journalism school can help fast track things if you already have a background in something. It is also important to note for the more intuitive creative writers out there, that it all comes down to who can capture an audience. Great video!
My degree is in filmmaking and I'm a freelance photojournalist. Most of the graduates have no basic knowledge of the camera the network has just loaned them. Great stuff.

Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the advice. I’m most likely gonna just get a 2 year degree at my community college.
That’s a great way to start. Then start learning how to freelance or intern at a newsroom.
