Rick, the epiphany that you describe having after reading Ralph Morrison’s book is the exact epiphany that you deliver to your listeners! You completely changed my perspective on board design.
Rick, up in an apartment so cant do a ground rod for my HF antenna system. So using 3rd wire ac outlet ground to an arrestor on the RG-213 coax, will this allow static or noise to bleed off, or bring in more noise.thanks -radio guy.
I loved every word of this talk and I wish I had Rick's words back when I decided to go for embedded systems ( 7 years ago). If I could redo my path, I would have: - read more books; - drank from the experts' bits of knowledge; - burnt many circuits putting much more hands-on; But in the end, I did my best, I took my chances and what I had in hand to make it work. If you are reading and got somehow curious I have this: www.element14.com/community/people/jpnbino/blog/2017/12/18/how-i-became-an-embedded-guy "Nachher ist man immer schlauer" Books List: Fast Circuit Boards: Energy Management by Ralph Morrison PCB Design for Real-World EMI Control by Archambeault Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering by Henry W. Ott ps.: I also would be up for a chess match :)
