- tulasendlesssum... for more of our boat life fun! This is our boat "Neverland" that we live on full time in S. Florida with our dog Jetty. She is a 1973 Marine Trader Trawler. We are still undergoing some major projects on her but have managed to keep her very homey and comfortable. Let us know what you would like to see more of, if you have any questions, or what your dreams are all about!
I grew up with a 9' Biston Whaler Squall.
Great little boats. Rowed it miles.
I've been a live aboard for about 16 years and one thing you notice is the majority of live aboard people are happy and very pleasant as in this video and many others. Difference I've found is when you live in an apartment or a house your neighbors may not have much in common with you so you sometime don't bond with them. Live aboard people come from all walks of life but there is one common bond they share is the love of their boats and being on the water. Believe me live aboard boaters no matter you find them will talk for hours to each other about their boats. You learn from each other and You help each other. On my dock the boat owners range from blue collar workers to CEO's and Doctors. If you see them all sitting together you wouldn't know who was the very poor or who was the very wealthy because it's about the boats and the water. Boaters are tight group and watch over each other way more so than most neighborhoods. I worked as a Executive for a Fortune 500 company and now I help my neighbors with the repairs on their own boats and it's simply wonderful. There's our world and then there's the outside world of traffic jams wirh red lights, speed limits and stop signs and worst of all road rage. It's not a life style for everyone. Yes, like any change in life you have to adapt. I say out every 10 that dry it only about 2 decide it wasn't for them. All i can you want see me living on dry land any time soon.
i did 18 months in san diego. i quickly discovered that very few people actually use their boats. many of the boats were unoccupied and unused. and when they used them, it was weekends and holidays. i think that folks were appreciative that someone was around to keep an eye on their boats. it was very quiet in the evenings.
Can't wait to join! My dream when I retire.
sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Devon Cyrus instablaster :)
@Kamryn Finn I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Would rather live the way you're living than in a multi-million dollar apartment in Manhattan - the patter of the rain on the roof, the closeness to nature, the view of the other yachts on the moorings, and your very happy dog... you're living a wonderful life...
You are living the real dream!!!
Thank you! We are definitely trying to!!
This brings back memories...my first live-aboard was a 1975 36' Marine Trader. Had some adventures on her - and certainly learned allot about marine maintenance! Good luck to your both
Thanks Darren!!! We are certainly learning a lot!
I like it! We live on a 36' sailboat. I love sailing but am a little jealous of the room you guys have. Either way, boat life is great!
+Sailing Kona There's always a trade-off, I miss the silence and the feel of sailing when its blowing 20 knots offshore and we could be just ripping along in flat water.
I remember this video so well. This is the first time we met her 👈🏼. Obviously we knew something was very special right away. The moment she said our home, we knew it was real. My wife just chimed in and said, that’s about it.
I binge watch the progress, I’ve always loved cruisers, trawler’s especially older boats
Y’all have done a absolutely amazing job bringing her back to life
Enjoy your journey, I’ve missed out on a lot adventures , Safe travels
The sound of the rain in there is so soothing, and the view from up top is amazing. You two are going to be so psyched when you get your new trawler ship-shape.
I love your boat. Perfect to live in. Congrats.
You make boating life look so much fun. Thanks.
ha ha ha love the dog
The new one is so much nicer. This one you keep in great shape.
Bravo, we have a 28' motor cruiser that we often spend 2-3 nights on board. Most important issue is to keep tidy.
Very nice boat. I met a couple while in Savannah GA that had a trawler and said they loved more than the sailboat they used to have because it was simply more roomy and practical for traveling up and down the ICW.
Def a lot of older couples switching from sail to trawl.
I really liked your video. It's the only one I've seen by someone who actually uses their boat. If I were ever able to get a good sized boat I too would have to live on it.
I love your Neverland home! This is a dream of mine to live like this. Keep livin the dream!
You're living the dream!
You guys have alot of boards :) Thanks for the tour!
Very awesome set up. That is easily bigger than most one bedroom apartments.....
Thank you for showing us your home.
looks so comfortable and tidy.
That was awesome! A flashback 3 years ago on your 36' Trawler.... I bet you'all miss that much larger state room master suite - CHEERS
I love the rain. Best weather ever.
Revisiting your original footage for conversion pieces this coming October. Cheers.
New subscriber. Enjoyed the tour. Lucky couple! Keep living the good life! Fair winds and now that you are in a trawler, clean fuel too. :)
Nice boat. You guys are Living The Dream!
wow, a great setup you have. excuse the late comments. I just ran across your channel and watching your videos. subscribed !! keep safe you guys and have fun!! and keep sharing the awesome videos. cya!
Looking at getting a trawler after 13 more years of child support.. yes..13.. anyways, I'm wondering like others are about operating expenses.. mooring, slips.. maintenance etc. Love seeing people living their dreams whether its a tiny house, homestead, van or boat. Keep having fun living the way you want to.
We are def going to get a vid out there about finances soon! Hopefully it will give you a rough idea of what it's like.
Hahaha the dogs face is so funny
Love your sweet pup...
Really enjoyed all you videos~ Keep living the dream! Looking for a trawler myself for some extended cruising! Your information has been very helpful!
Sierra is so precious!
thank you for your sharing. Just thinking buying one.
That is awesome, I wanna live like this. Nice video.
I love your vids and lifestyle. Very envious. Keep up the great work it's really appreciated. By for now in the Adirondacks of NYS!
Always like this I hope for you guys . Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!!!!
Looks like summer ain't endless after all ;D
Subscribed for inspiration! :D Cheers
Freedom - man i wish that was me....
Your trawler looks very nice. I like your choice of fabric on the seat cushions. I wish you had put your location in the description box.
Awesome! Live how you want. I'm not yet but working on it. My baby is a 30' Sea Ray. has two 351 ford's right now but am Goin all electric with wind ,solar and water .
Cool that looks fun!
I like the doggy most of all.
I love Neverland.
super nice boat! lots of potential gr. from Holland :)
+Frits van der Pol Thank you!!!
+Tula's Endless Summer sweet boat that would cost a fortune over here :) you should get a cover on those surf boards or the sun will make them turn yellow
+razzorbladz You're right man! We got a few covers but need some more for the rest of them.
Brilliant!
I think that's very cool. And I'm about to turn 70. 😁
So nice to like and see 2.1 change to 2.2k likes.
Great vid. Stay safe
Sierra is so young here that she reminds me of her younger sister.
Looks cozy... :)
Go Tula!
love watching the video's. thanks
i could totally do this. but would have a hard time giving up my motorcycle.
I have a friend that lives on his house boat. Keeps his Harley on the boat. Rides and cruises.
is that a Boston Whaler Squall? I learned to sail in our BW Squall in Shelter Island at the Kona Marina, San Diego, CA. Learned to sail before I had a bike...things were a lot different in the sixties! now days the Harbor Patrol would pick up a 5 year old cruising in the dingy with his 3 year old bother!
haha yes, Boston whaler squall. We sold it but the thing was awesome. I miss rowing!
Wow... Very cool!!
There is lot of space there. Where are yall anchored? We have a 28 foot cabin cruiser for a family of five. We dream of sailing the caribbean but for now will cruise around and hike lakes and close by islands.
yes def a lot of space especially for just us 3. We anchor all over the place!
Man you two have been at the UA-cam game for a while, I just found your channel, I live down in Lake Worth. So cool that you lived on a trawler, it's something I always dreamed about but I know nothing about about boats except I love being on them. Some of your videography shots like your trip down in the Keys where you drop the anchor with the GoPro were just awesome. I plan to check out more videos. 🌴🛹😎
nice I have a 36 Californian myself,, dont live on it,, but it is in my back yard,,lol nice boat, and beautiful girl by the way,,, I love the hair
Ah. I figured I was watching them out of order. Thanks!
That is cool. I am glad I found this channel. I learned that you call it a "trawler" This is what I want if I take to the sea. What is the range of the boat with filled up diesel fuel? I have so many questions but I will search them out. Good luck in your travels and thanks for the inspiration.
Our range is about 375 miles at 5 knots. Please feel free to let us know any questions, it will help us make more videos to help answer them!
Thank you very very much like a good time
I grew up on a powerboat. All the sailors hated us until they were stuck on a reef ,then it was always Bigmack come save our boat
hahaha we laughed at that one. Our sailor friends said "don't worry, when your engine breaks at sea we'll come find ya and give ya a tow..."
Wow pretty cool.
I'm so jealous
beautiful
Wow you guys are amazing I watched your recent video about your sailboat and going over your power systems batteries and so forth I have so many questions for you.
- do you prefer a powerboat or sailboat? Why?
- what was the number one reason why you chose to live on your boat? Adventure?
- i’ve seen many people discourage others from buying a boat to expensive money pit they’re dirty all the time the constant maintenance and upkeep should any of those really deter someone from doing this?
I am a sailboat type..but you have a very nice boat... Have you thought about doing the Great Loop?
Def. Thought about it, probably some day. We're just concerned about the lack of surf on the Great Loop :-/
That's a nice little trawler! Are those house kitchen cabinets in your galley? If so, did you go for all plywood? Thanks in advance.
...The dog was at the stern...
..eyeing the dingy...thinking....
...lets get off this thing so I can run and play....etc...LoL....;--),,,,,,,,,,,
Did you take Neverland from Stuart, FL to the Bahamas? If yes, how long did it take you to get there? How much fuel consumption did you go through to get there?
love you 2.))
Thanks.
I just checked out your videos and would like some feedback. First of all, we have been thinking about doing the same thing, boat life. We are sick of the urban life and want to explore and see what the world has to offer. The question I have is about your dog. What do you do when your dog has to go to the bathroom?
Great video and nice boat, does the fish tank slosh around when you are out of port?
+Will's Gills nah, we drain it half way when we aren't going to be in any rough stuff and all the way when we are.
What do you do when the dog has to go out if you’re not at a marina? If you’re at anchor close to shore you’d be able to take the dinghy but what about when you’re underway? Do you have some potty pads? Or just deal with the mess and hose off the deck?
We aren’t often underway for more than 8 hours but when we are she’ll go eventually. We tried fake grass and real sod with no luck..
Great boat. Btw, what is the range?
About ~375 NM at 5 knots for us.
hi guys, just found you, and I'm loving your lifestyle and your trawler is pretty cool, but I noticed you don't have a shower, how do you cope with that?
Where are u in FL where you can live on a boat full time still? Seems many areas in FL have been trying to end that (sad.)
Just found your channel, Very cool channel. We have an eight year plan to move onto a boat. Hopefully in six years we will have sold most of our material stuff, move into an apartment, the last 2 years will be finding a boat and getting it ready. I want a trawler, my wife wants an express cruiser. We'll see who wins..;). Anyways, 2 questions, are you running diesels and are they the original engines?
yes original 1973 ford Lehman 120hp diesel :-) Never past 3/4 throttle... Just one engine...
Check it out +the inertia The ultimate surf shack!
+Tula's Endless Summer Which anchorage is this?
This is just a spot we hooked for the day off the ICW in Stuart. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone in a big boat. Strong current and shallow sandbars on both sides.
This is in Manatee Pocket in Stuart, FL
love your uploads. If you ever come to Australia please come stay with us :) you both seem so down to earth.
Fishtank looked so dirty haha
how/where does the dog go to the bathroom..? I mean there's no grass or anywhere to get trash picked up, do you have to ride to shore for that stuff?
Very roomy. Love the afternoon cabin. How many gallons per hour dies she Burn? What engine Size? cheers!
Is this your old one you're knowing new 1
Where does the dog make potty?
Is Manatee Pocket where you usually park?
Love all you guys video's. Very informative for someone like me wanting to move over to that lifestyle. Some questions. The black water tanks do you have to go in to port to drain them often or are how large are the tanks. Im looking at a 77 Marine Trader 36 ft as a full time live aboard in FL. Also how do you do about internet and can you get internet while on a mooring ball or anchor? Do you like living on Neverland or Adrenalin better?
How did you solve the "what happens if the motor dies thing>"
It's not " If " , it's when the motor dies .It will eventually
where does the dog go to the bathroom when you are on the water?
we are never away from land for more than a few hours
shara hernandez that was my question!
shara hernandez Dunk him in the water with the leash until he's done. ;)
I was going to say, "The poop deck". 😂😂😂
You could always buy some puppy pads if necessary.
awesome!!
Hey guys! I live in South Florida and I am considering buying a houseboat. Where are some places in Palm Beach/Broward (Delray/Boca/Deerfield) you suggest for live aboard docking?
Interesting but you should also show the engine room.
I have just stumbled into your channel, subscribed and getting cought up. I have so many questions what size engine does your boat have? what is top speed? how many gallons of fuel will she hold? what is the range on a full tank of fuel? how many gallons per hour does she burn at a efficient speed? I would love to see a video with some of this info or I would be happy to read the answers here. cheers and BIG thumbs up.
125 HP Ford Lehman, Top speed about 7 knots, 150 gallons, about 375 NM at 5 Knots, about 2GPH at efficient speed (5 knots). I'll be glad to get a vid out on all this. Thanks for the questions!
+Tula's Endless Summer Cool I'm considering the possibility of selling our express cruiser and getting a trawler with liveaboard potential. it's a big leap I would do it in a second but I have a wife and 9 year old daughter to think about as well. thanks for the reply and feel free to check out my channel.
Great!
So which boat do you actually live on? I’ve counted 3 so far. Tula, the Catermaran and now this trawler
Currently we are on the catamaran. You can see our videos in order by going to our channel page, clicking videos in the top menus bar, and sort by time published toward the top right of the screen.
How much should I spend on my first trawler? Is yours diesel? Thanks!
Yes, diesel. You can probably spend anywhere from 2k-40k on an older trawler. Just depends how much work you want to do...
Where do u take showers
How do you make the money to live like this? Is youtube you're only source of income? Sorry if it's rude to ask I'm just very curious. Thanks!
What would you say it costs you monthly to live on your trawler? I’m assuming the boat is owned and not on a loan. I’m a simple person, so I don’t care for extravagances.
