Hi Rodney, I am taking my family next week. It's first time for my nephew and niece. Could you elaborate on what setup was your friend using in this video? She mentioned that she switched to chironomid. Thank you.
Howard Santos You are going to have a great time! The resort has a pretty big playground where your nephew and niece will burn off all their energy. ;) Fishing is very good there right now. You're going to have to use flies which resemble the big chironomids called "bombers" which are hatching right now. They are size 10, 12 chironomid flies. If you head into Berry's and ask them for those, they should be able to show you some. If not, the resort has them for sale as well. The setup is pretty simple with the spinning rod. Just set up your float like the way you would when fishing with bait, except attach the fly to the end of the line. You want to set your float depth (from the float to the fly) a few feet shorter than the actual depth where you are fishing. The fish usually hook themselves when they grab the fly, so hold on to your rod. :)
Thank you for such a quick response. We will "keep an eye" on the rod just like what we've learned from your other video. :) Thanks the tip and for the great videos!
Nisar Yousouf At Tunkwa Lake? The bottom of Tunkwa Lake, like many other lakes in the region, can be weedy so you want to be suspending your bait with a float instead of anchoring it on the bottom with a big weight.
Andrew Nassar The fly setup is a 4wt setup, with Scientific Angler GPX floating line. The leader is around 20 feet long tapering from 12lb to 6lb, with a short 4lb test tippet. An indicator is used to suspend the fly, which is basically a chironomid pattern.
Great vid Rod . Thanks
Awesome video! I loved it!

Bob Felling Wait until you watch the ocean features we are releasing later this summer lol.. ;) Thanks!

Howard Santos We'll be at the resort on August 5th to 8th by the way. If you're there at that time I'll show you the setup. ;)
***** Awesome!!!!!! See you!!!
Do you think casting as far as I can with 3/8 ounce weights, I can still land trout in the summer of no?

What fly and setup, did you use on your fly rod?
