As a kid I went straight from X1 to X5. I was mind blown going into X5, let me tell you. Heart broken at the end. And my God was that theme song so sick.

Imagine if you had Zero alive by the end, the game played as it is, but if you had lost Zero to the virus, you face Sigma BEFORE fighting Zero as the final boss! When you defeat him, he comes back to his senses, but Sigma reveals to be just barely alive and pierces X and Zero, but Zero manages to land the final blow on Sigma, thus leading to the "good ending", where X takes on Zero's saber.
It would feel so much more organic. It feels like the battle in the good ending (where Zero doesn't become Awakened) is basically the equivalent of a lover's quarrel.
Fun fact: Spike Rosered / Axl The Rose is referenced from Kakyoin from Jojo Part 3. Red hair with one lock on the front, green attire, fights using a whip which Hierophant Green also does. So he's a JOJO REFERENCE!
I'll do X6 when I hit 1,000 subs. *EDIT:* Well shit. *EDIT AGAIN:* So the next video I'll be making right after X5 will be Doom (1993 Original), and that would lead to a Half Life video since I wanna get that done before Black Mesa releases HOPEFULLY this year. I think the part that throws me about the "Zero saves X with a final parting shot" ending is that the skull being referred to as just "question marks" and a specifically-shaped mark on his forehead implies that that's not Sigma shooting at them. That's Wily's AI, possibly the last trace of him since he's burned through so many resources using Sigma.
I wouldn't know, I've just recently started playing the X series. Though, I guess Signas does somewhat resemble the Colonel. But, if that were the case, would that mean Alia would've been a rebuilt Iris?
I really, really hate the change to the Life and Ammo gauges being smooth gradients instead of pips. You can't really tell how close you or the boss is away from dying/running out of ammo/life when it's a smooth gauge (you can only estimate).
I'm always fascinated to see how younger folks got into games. I've seen variants on the stories of my generation dozens of times over, so hearing other generation's gaming origin stories is refreshing.
Good review, I can tell you put a lot of heart into this one. X5 might not be my favorite X game but I still enjoy it. God damn do I love its soundtrack though. X vs. Zero is my favorite boss theme in anything ever.
Despite its flaws, X5 is one of my absolute favorite games of all time, alongside X2 and X8. Heck, like you with X5, X8 was one of my first games, and my first Mega Man game. My opinion, fite me, purists
While you just missed it in the footage for your video, Zero does charge X using the Soul Body ability from X4 in the flash before the screen flashes to white and comes back to both of them battered on the floor. It's not an oversight, it just happens so quickly that it's easy to miss. X was taken off guard by Zero using an ability he didn't know he had, since X is presumably the only one able to copy the weapons from other reploids.
Actually, I'm x5 zero can learn soul body by defeating axle the red (spike rosered) which is called twin dream. But I feel like both outcomes can be Canon.
Finally someone who shares my love of X5. The game is all over the place but it's oddly a very comfortable experience even after all these years. Ahhhh the power of nostalgia
X6 is that game for me. I recognise the Zero portals, level design and boss design aren't phenomenal. But I unironically love the rest of it's game mechanics and it was the highlight of LC2 for me.
I think the US title screen is based on X's buster which is still pretty cool 7:25 I think the part of where it says how fast you complete a stage is for what item parts you get. There's a strange system how to get parts or something. Gamefaqs covers this.
27:58 I don't know how many nerds have told you this over the last 3 years but Zero and X DO INDEED hit each other with Soul Body ironically enough. Look very closely at what happens when Zero or X explode during their final battle and you'll see that while X or Zero stand still while their enemy explodes, the counterpart immediately fires a Soul Body attack to hit them. It's nearly unnoticeable but it happens.
For X, it makes sense. He uses it during his boss fight. Zero never got Soul Body in X4. Closest things to that are the W Shredder and Twin Dream in X5, which you can miss.
Hey, I just found out about your channel because of the SomeCallMeJohnny shoutout. I REALLY enjoyed your review, and it shows you put a lot of effort into making these videos. You captured a lot of what I like about MMX5, I can't really say that people are wrong about its flaws, but for me everything is forgiveable because of how much of a great game it still is. In my opinion, its the best level design and soundtrack in the entire series, and the best X story for sure. Playing it as a kid was so beautiful and haunting (X and Zero Torsos used to scare the shit out of me lol), and I never felt something like it with any other MM game.
The cyberspace permiating in the world gets referenced and used again in Zero3. With Omega returning to the planet his very presence and power causes this phenomenon. It's like an early tell of who, or what, Omega truly is.
The green color scheme was actually from comics that were drawn during world War 2. Thats why the incredible hulk was green, to metaphorically depict the American army in world War 2.
I know this is a old comment but I will respond. Hulk was colored green due was due to the company never using green on any of the characters. He was grey. Just like Gokus black hair, It wasted so my ink that he was changed to green.
I feel like the completionist/analytical mindset we develop as adults can be quite hazardous when playing video games. As a child, Megaman x5 was one of the first video games I played, and for many years was by far my favorite. Since I didn't have many options for games, I would play X5 again and again. Sometimes I would get stuck on the black blob boss and other times at Sigma; keep in mind I didn't have a memory card, so I had to run through it without saving. The thing is, while frustrated for not being able to defeat the bosses, I would still have a blast at every playthrough. One fine day I randomly found Dr. Light's capsule that upgraded Zero into his Black armor; my mind was blown! I was finally able to beat Sigma after approximately 1-2 years without being able to (I'm that bad); the end of the journey was so satisfying! My heart was broken after finding out Zero's destiny; as a child, I was attached and would always draw him when I had the chance. I had no idea how to get chips; I only knew that I sometimes randomly got some. Nowadays feel pushed to die again and again on the first stages just to reduce the hours and get as many as possible. About Zero's possible death mid-game, I find it to this day, genius! The game only takes about one to two hours to beat, so I never feel like I ''have to beat it every time''; it isn't like games nowadays that games take hours and hours to beat; the stakes are always annoyingly high. The cutscene in which Zero might die makes my heart beat fast to this day, if he does, I'll just accept and try to beat as X or play it again some other time; it makes the eventual victory that more meaningful. The conclusion is, I probably wouldn't love this game as much as I do if I first played it as an adult since my child version would play the game considerably differently. That's probably one of the reasons I'm feeling more and more disconnected from games as I age, mostly playing as a means to learn new languages. Growing up sucks.
So after your X6 video I decided to go through your back catalog, and holy shit, Trav, you have summed up what I have been saying about this game for years. Like you, this game was my Mega Man X gateway drug, and I FUCKING LOVE IT. To see a reviewer that, despite all of this game's flaws, genuinely likes this game for what it is and what it tried to do, is fantastic. Thank you for the dissection and discussion, and I'm really looking forward to seeing all the other things you have in store!
i went into X5 knowing how awful Squid Adler's stage is so i decided to do it first to get it out of the way and let me just say i wish the Vita had savestates
This is my favorite MMX game, and i rather have the zero sacrifising hinself on the final figth (also i Aways pick Megaman for the First Stage and zero for everything else)
In a really bizarre way, I almost share a carbon copy of your childhood. My brother started me off with X1 on an emulator, but shortly after that, X5 came to pc and it absolutely blew my head off. I have massive nostalgia vision for X5, but I can see the flaws in gameplay, and even remark how atleast aesthetically there was always something off about it compared to X4, but the game really left its mark on me. Quality content, Trav. I see alot of potential going for you and your content. Also have you seen the July 28 2000 build that was leaked a few months ago? There's a metric ton of interesting content to check out. It was compiled shortly before release and full of never before seen shit like old renders of cutscenes, unfinished sketches and ms paint fill in's, a robust debug menu. Maybe in a follow up video if need be.
I actually didn't have nearly as hard of a time with the Shadow Devil as I did with the original yellow devil. As a matter of fact, every devil I ever fought after the yellow devil Mark 1 was piss easy compared to Mark 1.
I hate the RNG in this game. The cannon can be fired right at the start of the game and it has a chance of working. You dont always have to use the shuttle. Theres so many different ways this game can play out. I love the Falcon and Gaea Armors but god the RNG of the shuttle and enigma cannon are annoying lol
I would say Megaman X5 was the beginning of the end. The game itself, while still solid, but clearly not as strong as past games in the series. After X5, the games just took a really steep nosedive and got really bad with no gradation. It was until we got X8 that the X series started to get good again, but Megaman X8 is really just another prime example of "too little too late". Is X8 as strong as 1 or 4? Clearly not, but it felt like a leap in the right direction especially in comparison to Megaman X6 and X7. I just got done playing through those games again on the legacy collection, and the only fun I was having was saying "Look at how janky this bullshit is" whenever something royally stupid happened. Most of these things that happened didn't feel like it was really my fault as a player but more the fault of poor design choices.
X5 still holds a special place in my heart, too since this was the first 32bit MMX5 adventure I played. I used to drive my mom nuts with this games ending theme. (It didn't really bother her she just would count how long it take for the song to end) I always played the hell outta this and X2 and the original mmx collection for PS2. It was fun to come up with new ways to get around the fact that this game tries it's absolute hardest to rob the player of SOMETHING.... Your armor, your Z-BuSTeR and even one of your player characters. Trying to figure out the best order to murder the bosses in was fun too.... And trying to evenly distribute power ups amongst these two was an interesting and unique challenge.
19:14 there's a background for the hunter base that shows up for the dynamo boss, but you'd have to have some shuttle bosses and enigma bosses left over. It'll be purple at first because of the virus then normal colors later on. The dynamo boss only has the Enigma, Shuttle or Hunter Base as backgrounds, sadly... There should have been more.
I have a Zero file that I'll never overwrite. It has the colony destroyed right off the bat so you can play the whole game with no timer. I got really lucky with the RNG. This gives me the freedom to enjoy the game at my own pace, and I always skip the battle with Skiver so his learned technique doesn't disable my ability to dash cancel with my saber. 😎
Seems like a lot of people myself included have nostalgic attachments to this game as I too was introduced to this series through this game as a child. Great stuff.
It probably would have made for a more interesting story in the Zero Series too. I mean I definitely like the Zero games as they exist now, but if the Zero series had picked up from X5's ending where Zero had gone Maverick, (I'm assuming that was the intention given how much the series had built up to it before this point) it could have been SO GOOD! Imagine if Zero woke up to learn that his betrayal, intentional or not, broke his best friend so completely that he had to be mind wiped only to later end up going Maverick himself. Then Zero would have to put X down with his own hands, (a plot point that had been foreshadowed in X4) possibly before allowing himself to die so that Wily's legacy would be destroyed for good...it just would have made for a much more impactful narrative I think. Story has never been a focus for Megaman of course, and the stuff we have now with The Elf Wars and X sacrificing himself for the future of the world, only for a corrupt copy of himself to trample over everything he worked for is still good. Inafune clearly did the best he could with what X6 gave him. I just can't help but imagine the story that might have been had Inafune been allowed to end the X series where he wanted to.
The reference of Pegasus, if you wait until the colony crashes or is destroyed, he will mention the General (with X) or Iris (with Zero) instead of the Colonel, yeah, some dialogues against the 8 mavericks are slighty different once you destroy the colony or let it crash. Funny you went to the intended canon route with the colony crashing and waking Zero's dark-side. The worst part of X5 was the RNG shenanigans for the ending, also, at least on the original Ps1 release you could manipulate the RNG in your favor... yeah, you can manipulate the RNG to have the Enigma always 100% success odds EVEN without defeating the 4 intended mavericks, the other versions (Ps2/Gamecube and Legacy Collection 2) I know you can also do that, but is harder to do that consistenlty as the RNG values are managed in a very diferent way (at least you can apply a mod to the Ps1 version to have 100% odds with the Shuttle if you have all 4 pieces, have 0% chance to destroy the colony if you have no parts of the Enigma (EVEN with the RNG manipulation) that you don't feel you have to rush and stuff... except dealing with the loading times. Edit: By the way, I still like this game too, despite it's flaws... just like with X6 and EVEN to some extend X7.
One things that needs to be said is if you take too long to defeat Maverick Zero, he will become invincible and will start launching at you giant blades that will kill you in 1 hit.
I personally love Mega Man X5, and i'm very glad to hear others do too, thank you for making this. Also the soundtrack is easily in my top 3 soundtracks period, maybe even my top 1, it, as I believe the kids say, "slaps"
What if the Mega Man Zero series is an alternate timeline from X5 and another timeline ending from X5 leads up to X6 And x 8 makes sense that there is a hunter medal in leagcy collection vol 2 called time paradox
I've beaten X5 a few weeks ago, and personally, I really enjoyed it, although I'll wait for my 2nd playthrough to actually solidify my opinion of this game, for now I just wanted to say: I'd really like to know what they were planning to do to lead into the MMZ games, since in literally both endings it feels like this game was meant to be a finale that would lead into nothing, besides X stating that he wants to build a new sanctuary which doesn't even have a name similar to "Neo Arcadia" I can't really tell what they were trying to do to tie into the Zero games, I know that the story in those game was changed when they discovered that X5 wasn't the final game in the X series, but in that sense, I'd like to know, what WAS planned? Other than the fact that the real X was the villain, we don't know much about the original story, I guess what they probably wanted to do was follow up the bad ending where X doesn't remember Zero and showcase how his personality changed overtime and became so obsessed with his ultimate goal that he basically became what copy X is in the Zero games and have Dr wily somehow revive Zero in a similar way light did it. I don't know, I'd really like to know.
Throughout my years I've seen nothing but praise for X5....to hear you say you seen others out right hate it is crazy..it's not my favorite but I love this game and would definitely replay it. Has some of my favorite tracks....but fuck those insta kill lasers in the first Zero stage..
The good ending is the canon ending because X remembers Zero and gave him back his saber in the Zero series. Plus, X5 was suppose to be the finale that leads up to the Zero series.
I understand what you're saying, but X6 treats both endings canon (though that makes no sense) lol. The colony still crashes like the bad ending, but X remembers Zero and keeps his saber like the good ending. They clearly had no idea what they were doing.
I'm not going to lie. If this game focused on that depressing ending with Zero's sacrifice and Megaman's amnesia regarding his friend and mentor, and the next game was actually Megaman Zero, that would have hit so much more differently opening with that one chick and her soldiers running into that ruined chamber and finding Zero in stasis there.
31:20 these aren't even the worst ones. But worst yoku block patterns EVAR come from Mega Man's 5 and 6. And if I can get through the yoku blocks in the first three games without needing the magnet beam, any of the items, or rush jet, I know you can.
For me, X5 was the last good X game (havent played x6,7,and 8). It wasnt as good as 4 and some new things that they added in werent great (fucking rng for good ending) but I still liked it. While defeating the Reploid Masters, i thought the game was ok but the moment that the game really picked up for me was when Zero could actually acquire the Black Zero Armor from Dr.Light and the next boss right after getting it was X himself.
VentusHero351 lol it’s comments like this why I always read the comments. I didn’t read your whole comment and I’m not going to. But your first sentence was enough for me to get a good lol and elicited a response. You say this is the LAST GOOD X Game then immediately say you haven’t played any of the games afterwards. That is all
@@photosynthesis69 Well...X6 was mediocre, but still much better than X7(which isnt a hard feat to accomplish) And X8 finall did thing right again. A pity that at that point X series lost alot of it's fanbase(or Crapcom just didnt care) Atleast with Megaman 11 out of the way, and Megaman X DiVe out there, there's hope that maybe we will see X9 or Legends 3 in the future.
Can’t you actually stop the space colony from hitting the earth? I seem to remember being able to pull that off somehow. And getting the black armor with zero legit as well. Just a couple things I didn’t notice you mention.
I actually really like using the Gaea Armor for the remainder of the game once I get it. Yes, that includes the Quick Man death-beam level. Yes, I hate the Shadow Devil that much.
Back when I was a kid I didn't know who MegaMan was beyond "that really cool robot from Marvel vs Capcom" so when I saw a game with him in the store I got it. That game was X5, my very first MegaMan game, and alongside Resident Evil 3, my first introduction to the whole schtick of your actions and speed affecting the story (or at least that's how I thought X5 worked). This game holds a very special place in my heart and I'm happy I played it back when I did since I went to play all the others (rarely finishing them because I kinda sucked at them). It's funny how I still find "the worst" to be my favorites as the ones I like the most are X5, X6 and X8.
You should be happy that shadow devil has being nerfed in the final ver. since in beta, he has two outline on each side making avoiding him is almost impossible without falcon armor
X5 is my favorite Megaman Games... Ever. I got the Legacy Collection 2 ALONE because it had X5. And then i proced to get all the archivments on that game. I played it, no joke, 5 TIMES IN A ROW, Trying diferent set ups and diferent armor pieces, an X run, a Zero run and a Bad ending run, doing a only megabuster run, I'm not exagerating I love this game to death. After that I tried X6 for the first time..... and then drop it inmediatly because it made me depress.... so I skip to X7 and end up liking the dumpster fire only because it was diferent and bad enough to be good to made fun while also beeing playable, after that I tried X8 and I got depress again because it was soo good is a shame the series died on it. I love X5 and Even if it wasn't the finale I still love this game to dead and I consider it the ending of the series... I wish you showed the Zero ending that is SUPER DEPRESING AND SAD, It always makes me cry.
I pretty much exclusively play as Zero in the Mega Man X games. i've never done an X playthrough of 4, I unlocked Zero as early as I could in X6 just to play as much of the game as my boy as possible, I only switched to Axl once in X7, and in X8 I only ever entered a level without Zero when it was mandatory to have X and Axl together. Naturally, I played X5 as Zero. I'd heard people complain about how heart tanks are character exclusive, and I thought "Whatever, I'm never going to play as X anyway!". So I picked up all but 3 heart tanks as Zero, because the other 3 needed X's armor. And then I made it to the end of the game. And the shuttle failed. And I couldn't play as Zero. And I had to fight the Shadow Devil with an upgradeless X. That was when this game earned a special seat in hell.
To me what matters most in games in general is gameplay and difficulty...I think X5 was the best from that point of view of any X game. The rest is actually arguable. X6 and X4 have a killer OST. X1 and X4 have a good storyline.
X5 was the first mega man game I ever played, a friend's house since I only owned a Sega Genesis until eventually get a PS2 much, much later. My earliest memory of Mega Man is fighting *that damn black blob*. Me and my friend would fight that boss over and over and over and over again struggling to get through it. We would often make the colony crash early just to get the visually epic cinematic of Zero going evil and the challenge of fighting him as X and experiencing the cyberspace overlap which was just *fucking beautiful* to us. We didn't know about the mega man nostalgia at all, we just loved it. The comments of continuity and lack of delving deep into the story makes me want a small remaster of these games, not just a legacy collection, but something that improves the story of the games and retroactively adds characters that have history with X and Zero (like Iris and the Colonel from X4) to add more weight to their involvement.
Well X7 is the worst of all o.o. People think Gaea is the worst armor. Bruh X7 Glide is the worst of all. Just gliding XD buster upgrade is like nothing…. Gaea armor is really good in fighting bosses.
Mega Man X5 could have great gameplay and a great (or greatest) story to finish the X series. That would have been a Swan Song, a perfect way to finish the series. But what we got is an undercooked game that didn't look like it had enough time to refine its ideas. As a matter of fact, what were they thinking while making this game? Mega Man X5 is certainly the weakest game in the X series. That is if X5 was really the last entry. God dammit Capcom. Now That Trav Guy has mentioned it, I do imagine that there were disagreements or worse, potential infighting among development staff on how Mega Man X5 should have been. All in all, the reason why Mega Man X5 is the way it is it's either the infighting among development staff, the lack of time to refine the ideas and concepts, or both. But hey, if you want the best Mega Man X5 experience, I recommend Mega Man X5 The Improvements Project.
Secret code at start: for X: (dpad) up2 times, down 9 times. For zero: its reverse like: down 2 times and up 9 times. Op: ult armor+quick charge... (literaly thats the ult armor), falcon armor+speedster=fast flying+quick charge. The geae armor is not worth it!
I played each game in order. And no, Sigma didn't come into contact with Wily so much as he punched Zero's head gem and the Maverick Virus transferred to him. Beating X4 with Zero shows the whole sequence...
"Watch out X!!!! There is some lava over there!!!!" X instantly dies after being interrupted..... Thanks Alia, if you didn't interrupted me i would have that extra second to hide myself....
Oh hey, another person who got introduced to the Mega Man series by mistaking a game for a Mario game. I had that happen to me once, but instead of a rom site it was the actual wii shop channel because someone showed me a looney tunes romhack and told me it was super mario bros 4. Kinda odd to know that other people ended up stumbling upon Mega Man 4 in a similar way!
You hit the nail on the head for the story, it's such a huge missed opportunity. In general, the X games could've told really good stories, but most of them just rely on implications (except for maybe X4).
X4 is a mostly contained story aside from the X1 designs of Zero and Sigma in the flashback, but that sorta isolation works when you introduce such an important new faction like the repliforce. X5 just felt like a continuation of X4 but without actually being a continuation!
That Trav Guy I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that the Eurasia space colony was the final weapon thing from x4 after kind of almost being destroyed and when you think about it, it makes a whole lot of sense. After sigma’s defeat in x4 not only had the final weapon been destroyed, but sigma’s explosion(similar to this game) spread the virus all over the space colony making it a very logical continuation of x4.
I was really disappointed going in because I assumed MMX would have a deeper story. Or maybe it does have deeper lore but the writing is so crap that you have to go on forums to find key story elements like I did. At least the games are great. (Mostly)
All very mysterious. Capcom has a long history of Guns n Roses references, going back to Final Fight (and maybe even before that). Being the 2000's I thought that 'McWhalen' might have been a reference to Scott Weiland as well, and therefore actually a Velvet Revolver reference...but no, he actually joined that band two years after this game came out. So...did this game predict that? Hmm.
Since way back then, may head canon for X5's Endings are that, "The Bad Ending" was the one that led to Megaman Zero, while the "Good Ending" led to X6. I know that they retconned it to oblivion, but you can't say that it wasn't what they had planed when they made the first MMZ. - Zero was destroyed and had to have his body reawakened by some cyber magic thing. - X on a questionable state of mind, building some kind of "Arcadia". - The whole world destroyed by some shit.
As a kid I went straight from X1 to X5. I was mind blown going into X5, let me tell you. Heart broken at the end. And my God was that theme song so sick.
Which one? From what game?
You saw Zero die twice?
I can see why you were heartbroken
wait if they went from one to 5 does that mean you didnt know how zero was revived dang that must of been confusing
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?

Imagine if you had Zero alive by the end, the game played as it is, but if you had lost Zero to the virus, you face Sigma BEFORE fighting Zero as the final boss!

Was I the only person who thought Signas was a rebuilt Colonel from X4 as a kid.
I got them confused as a kid, yeah, i was like "ISN'T THIS GUY DEAD???!!1"
would have made alot more sense, while also being Sigma in disguise xD
I wouldn't know, I've just recently started playing the X series. Though, I guess Signas does somewhat resemble the Colonel. But, if that were the case, would that mean Alia would've been a rebuilt Iris?
I really, really hate the change to the Life and Ammo gauges being smooth gradients instead of pips. You can't really tell how close you or the boss is away from dying/running out of ammo/life when it's a smooth gauge (you can only estimate).

I like both, but I really enjoy the word pip... pip pip pip :3!

I could never understand why people hated X5. It was my favorite of the 3 PSX titles. Used to speedrun it too lol
I need to say that X Vs Zero is one of if not the best music in X5 or even the entire series
"This game has a terrible reputation online but I still love it" me with X7
wait wut
@@matiosmenta I like X7. Axl is Babey
same
X7 is bad in my opinion but I love how bad it is
X6 is that game for me. I recognise the Zero portals, level design and boss design aren't phenomenal. But I unironically love the rest of it's game mechanics and it was the highlight of LC2 for me.
17:22 you can actually get that Gaea part with Zero up there, it takes a lot of effort and as well the jumper part
I love those real life skits you did for this, they’re really funny
I think the US title screen is based on X's buster which is still pretty cool
7:25 I think the part of where it says how fast you complete a stage is for what item parts you get. There's a strange system how to get parts or something. Gamefaqs covers this.
I remember how I felt the last time I played X5...
"Hey Inafune, thanks I hate it."
Me in the squid addler stage be like:
9 MONTHS waiting for this and its finally out.
God, that opening still gives me all the happy brain chemicals.
Hey I'm from somecallmejohnny's twitter. You seem really cool tbh so here's a sub.
Just realized rosered is based on kakyoin
16:15 He went Maverick right in front of us because he was infected with the sigma virus.
You make me feel so old...I had x5 and x6 for ps1 when i was 5 or 6 ...that x5 opening theme melody will forever be glued into my brain
Mr. Somecallmejohnny sent me. Your content is absolutely awesome Mr. Trav Guy
You mean that guy that just complains?
@@Marsuru1 You’re gonna tell me the complaints aren’t justified?
@@Marsuru1 why would you call him that?
So funny story.... I was able to destroy the Eurasia space colony with the enigma right after the intro stage
The RNG for this game was on your side that day!
Your not alone with taking manuals to school. I used to take my Metroid Fusion and Pokemon Silver game manuals with me on short car trips to read.
2:37 *I KNEW I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE THAT THOUGHT ABOUT THE DAMN MATTRESS*
It took me years to figure out that ZeR0 died in the "bad ending". I thought he just like fell over and passed out or something.
He was taking a nap.
@@_V.Va_ He went to the Reploid Factory upstate.
😂😂🤣
He hid to repair himself.
This was the first Megaman game I ever played. And even though I can see its weaknesses, I still love this game
Nice job Trav. I'm proud you expanded on why you love this game. Keep your head up high sir.
This was actually one of the few mega man x5 I had much more easier time with , and I sort enjoyed it for that reason .
This game with the improvement project is such a blast
It probably would've been better for x's reputation if mega man x5 was the last x game.
The most bothersome thing of this game is Alia. She really annoys me and her contacting got me killed most times, ESPECIALLY in Mattrex's stage.
“HI, X! :D”
*fucking dies*
I personally love Mega Man X5, and i'm very glad to hear others do too, thank you for making this.
Also the soundtrack is easily in my top 3 soundtracks period, maybe even my top 1, it, as I believe the kids say, "slaps"
X5 is also my first Megaman game and also my favorite you're not alone brother
F the haters. X5 was a great game I just wish they went all in with Wily in the story
Throughout my years I've seen nothing but praise for X5....to hear you say you seen others out right hate it is crazy..it's not my favorite but I love this game and would definitely replay it. Has some of my favorite tracks....but fuck those insta kill lasers in the first Zero stage..
Either that Mug isn't actually filled with Coffee, or Trav just gets high off of caffeine easily
“This is why Mom fucking hates you!”
ICONIC
How can you dislike this game?! This game was everything to me when I was 11. Thanks for this!
SAME!!
That is all
@@photosynthesis69 Well...X6 was mediocre, but still much better than X7(which isnt a hard feat to accomplish)
And X8 finall did thing right again. A pity that at that point X series lost alot of it's fanbase(or Crapcom just didnt care)
Atleast with Megaman 11 out of the way, and Megaman X DiVe out there, there's hope that maybe we will see X9 or Legends 3 in the future.
@@photosynthesis69 well in a way, he’s right
Can’t you actually stop the space colony from hitting the earth? I seem to remember being able to pull that off somehow. And getting the black armor with zero legit as well. Just a couple things I didn’t notice you mention.
J's Reviews sent me (good live stream)! Subscribed!
I actually really like using the Gaea Armor for the remainder of the game once I get it. Yes, that includes the Quick Man death-beam level. Yes, I hate the Shadow Devil that much.
This is the video that made me sub to this channel. Finally someone talking about something THEY like when no1 else likes it, cool
I was happy Zero/ZX collection became a thing but now I’d like to see another ZX game. Even more than another regular X game
You should be happy that shadow devil has being nerfed in the final ver. since in beta, he has two outline on each side making avoiding him is almost impossible without falcon armor
"What's the deal of the Eurasia?"
No idea, WHY NOT USE THE THING FROM X4
If you look closely Zero throws a red soul body at X as he's exploding
Which I don't understand.
How did he get Soul Body?
He gets Kuuenbu and Kuuenzan (Double Jump and Spin Slash) from Split Mushroom.
@@HarbingerYT I believe it's a reference to his Twin Dream ability that he gets in this game.
I can’t stop thinking about “JET HAND”
23:46 Somebody's played Megaman Network Transmission.
That beginning gag was pure gold
The final form of sigma in X5 is a call back to Gamma from megaman 3, a giant robot DR. Light and DR. Wily made together.
I personally think that X5 was the best game in X series
I gotta love that SpongeBob reference in which he founds out that he was the Window-Breaking Maniac, am I right? LOL
Why oh why did they have to remove the individual armor parts feature.. that would had been so dope to be able to combine different armors parts...
Hmm.
You deserve way more subs! This content quality is great!
You forgot to mention that the woman who named all the mavericks after Guns N’ Roses characters also played the clown girl on The Big Comfy Couch
When you said that bolt kracken was friends w/ launch octopus I was in his stage.
