- Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel and another foray into the world of medieval wargaming. In this video, I'm looking at the Medieval Knights by Victrix. I was very fortunate that Victrix sent me a set of the new Medieval Knights to paint up and show on the channel.
I have really enjoyed my recent journey into painting and was looking forward to having a look at this set and stepping outside of my hobby comfort zone by painting some cavalry! In the video, I'll show you what you get in the set and what is on the sprues. I will also show you the first five knights that I've painted up so far.
If you liked the video, consider leaving a comment and subscribing, I always enjoy chatting to fellow gamers about the hobby.

Hi dude may I say that they look superb a great range of colours
Cheers Justin, much appreciated! I'm a lot more comfortable painting brighter colours these days and really happy with these turned out in the end 😃👍
Lovely work, ste, really nice mix of colours. I'm definitely going to get these
Thank you! I wanted to have a mix of different colours but with something like the blues and reds to tie them together. It's a lovely kit to work with 😃👍
Lovely to see you flexing your historical painting muscle!
Cheers Tony! I think I've painted more medieval miniatures over the past six weeks than in over 30 years. Got a real inspiration for the period at the moment 😃👍
Brilliant work great pant work looks fantastic 🤠🤠🤠👍👍
Thank you, much appreciated! I thought that I was going to struggle painting these but actually found them to be really pretty enjoyable to paint 😃👍
Loverly work Ste next you will be doing tutonic knights just so you can get some Germans in there, and lots of spare bits to turnip things up in the future
Cheers buddy! I'm really not sure where I'm going next with these. I'm tempted by painting up a unit of Templars but all that white paint may drive me a little funny 😅👍
Great stuff. I appreciate the look at the sprues.
Thanks dude! Aye, hopefully it showed what you get on each sprue but also demonstrated just how crisp the sculpts are. Very impressed with the whole kit 😃👍
amazing painting Ste, welcome to the world of painting knights.
Thanks Graham, much appreciated! I'm really enjoying my recent foray into all things medieval 😃👍
@@OnPointHQ welcome to my world Ste. Lion Rampant rules are simple and give a nice game. Also don’t need masses.I remember your Longbowmen, you are halfway there.:-)
Great work
Thank you! As I mentioned in the video, I'm not a big painter of cavalry so I thought these would be a bit of a challenge to paint. However, I enjoyed painting them and super happy with how they turned out 😃👍
Beautifully done! Keep at it!
Thank you, much appreciated! I have a few more to paint up and may even consider stepping outside of my comfort zone further by trying yellow and white 😃👍
Superb knights, impressive heraldy work...and nice touch with the mud effects, big like!
Cheers Phil! I'm always a bit hesitant in adding weathering, such as mud, to nicely painted miniatures in case it ruins them but with the medieval miniatures I've painted so far, I think it adds a lot of character to them 😃👍
I like them a lot. You're right about them being full of movement. The lovely smooth paint job makes them look very realistic. I can imagine these thundering along like it's the medieval Grand National! 😆
Cheers Jimbo! I think the poses on both the horses and knights are brilliant and definitely give a sense of charging at the enemy 😃👍
They look very nice indeed!
Cheers Shaun! I'm really pretty chuffed with how they turned out as I was very much outside my comfort zone painting cavalry. Looking forward to adding some more 😃👍
Beautiful work!
Thank you, much appreciated! A really enjoyable kit to work with and I'm looking forward to painting more of them soon 😃👍
Well done, man. Victrix stuff is so much fun to do. Not too plain and not too over detailed.
Cheers James! This is the first time I've worked on a full Victrix kit outside of butchering spares for Turnip28. Very impressed with the the sculpts. A range I'll definitely be investing more in moving forward 😃👍
Nice paint jobs. I plan on getting these to use as proxies in a certain fantasy game
Thank you! Yes, I can see quite a few people opting to use these in that other certain fantasy game. Not sure if it's been released yet bit Victrix have a fantasy add on for these with fantasy themed helmets 😃👍
@@OnPointHQ The fantasy add on has been released, but I'm waiting on the foot knights to be released to order
Great work, they're really nice minis. How do the riders size up against the Wargames Atlantic foot knights?
Thanks Andrew, much appreciated! I would say that the Victrix knights are slightly more chunkier than those from Wargames Atlantic but nothing overly noticeable from three feet. I think they'll work together pretty well 😃👍
very poor assembly and painting, also - decals on the shields are shiny.
