Also there was a widow so flying between the dps and tank is not safe. If this was a higher ranked lobby, the dps would have taken up very different positions and mercy could have helped them then.

you can still slingshot/SJ up using any other beam target on the ground. using this trick is how many mercys can reach a target who is stubborn to peek or cannot risk moving position. typically mercy will have more heals than other supports due to the auto lock that does not break away unless LoS is broken or enough distance is put between her and the target. regardless, going up there was definitely not the play with the widow in plain sight. no one was even contesting them so they just had to wait a few seconds to regen health lol edit: i have realized you meant the tank pushed up to their spawn, which also was not the play lol. i don't understand why she couldn't just do that on moira? moira has an escape ability and higher healing. she could have definitely pushed up with her duo to support him instead of complain... low elo is so silly

She was complaining about the dps nothing doing anything, which was me, but then I got on her and said that she was doing a terrible job counter picking since the enemy had flankers and she was mercy/moira. I see that she still hasn’t learned from her mistakes and will stay in plat while I just hit diamond 3 days ago.
You can tell she knew you were a good mercy near the end of the first round, but was too stubborn to admit it so she keeps finding things to call you out on. I hate people who are petty and stubborn like her, you handled it well, something I personally couldn't do.

Personally. As a mercy main myself. Who sometimes plays ranked. If someone chose mercy. I would just say "oh damn you went mercy" and then just choose like zenyatta or any other support in that matter. And plus, usually i dont worry about mercy being taken as the only times i play ranked is with my friends. They usually pick support in role queue alongside me. And so.. yea. I dont have that many hours on mercy but if i choose mercy and i hear something like this. I would just simply avoid teammate them or mute them. Or sometimes, when they are just going too far in voice chat. I would just begin roasting the absolute hell out of them. If they mention something that strongly offends me or just are being plain rude. Obviously. And also if i dont go support when i am playing with my friends.. everything just basically goes downhill as im one of 3-4 people in my friend group that plays support. Out of the 14 people. So... yea! Thats all i think..

He already one shots at point blank, and with how close he has to be to the enemy to do damage, just healing him and making him unkillable with his own lifesteal is more important than damage boosting him seeing as the damage boost hardly makes a difference for reaper specifically, and because of how big his hitbox is (the larger healthpool seriously means nothing sometimes). My husband is a gm reaper player and I duo with him, and this is what we found to be the most effective in high rank lobbies. There are times where you can damage boost of course, just not nearly as much as you'd damage boost an ashe soldier or cass. You just can't sustain it for long because he's a damage magnet. But I doubt the mercy and reaper you ran into put that much thought into their strategy, I'm sure she was just healbotting because she's bad, but in that case it is the right call

It’s honestly frustrating because I want to tell them that our teammates are actually pulling their weight and shes the one causing problems, but I usually just stay quiet because I’d rather just not get into all that during a round.

And plus, usually i dont worry about mercy being taken as the only times i play ranked is with my friends. They usually pick support in role queue alongside me. And so.. yea. I dont have that many hours on mercy but if i choose mercy and i hear something like this. I would just simply avoid teammate them or mute them. Or sometimes, when they are just going too far in voice chat. I would just begin roasting the absolute hell out of them. If they mention something that strongly offends me or just are being plain rude. Obviously. And also if i dont go support when i am playing with my friends.. everything just basically goes downhill as im one of 3-4 people in my friend group that plays support. Out of the 14 people. So... yea! Thats all i think..

I encountered only one time this type of Mercy, when I got filled in an ending game and I picked Mercy, then the other person was upset I didn't wanna swap out of it 💀
The next match I got her and her duo in my team, Mercy Reaper and she was 90% of the time using the heal on full hp Reaper 😂😂😂

He already one shots at point blank, and with how close he has to be to the enemy to do damage, just healing him and making him unkillable with his own lifesteal is more important than damage boosting him seeing as the damage boost hardly makes a difference for reaper specifically, and because of how big his hitbox is (the larger healthpool seriously means nothing sometimes). My husband is a gm reaper player and I duo with him, and this is what we found to be the most effective in high rank lobbies.
There are times where you can damage boost of course, just not nearly as much as you'd damage boost an ashe soldier or cass. You just can't sustain it for long because he's a damage magnet.
But I doubt the mercy and reaper you ran into put that much thought into their strategy, I'm sure she was just healbotting because she's bad, but in that case it is the right call

She’s obviously boosted by the tank. She pushes up with the tank in the open. The gameplay is almost more cringe than her attitude.

I have a duo that I play with who will constantly never take the blame themselves and will always point fingers at people in our team. It’s honestly frustrating because I want to tell them that our teammates are actually pulling their weight and shes the one causing problems, but I usually just stay quiet because I’d rather just not get into all that during a round.
