  • Jeeps are hot, Pickups are hot, Patina is hot and a Jeep Pickup with Patina, well I don't know if it gets any better than that if you're into one or the other. Or all of the above! But all good things come to an end and so it is with this J-Series, so please join us for a walkaround of the outside, a look under the hood, and also inside the cab and help us figure out exactly which year, model, and engine this one is! Yes, we are interactive here and comments are always welcome, especially if you Subscribe and Like and turn on your Notifications so that we can keep making these videos of all kinds of cars, trucks, vans, and sometimes even tractors and other stuff from all over the world that we find in the junkyard!

I just picked up a pair of these a 68 j3000 swb with the olds 350/auto distributor in the rear. The 71 long bed with the amc 360/4 spd distributor in the front.

It is a J-300 Gladiator. 1963-1965. At 3:57, the top badge would have said 4-wheel drive and under it would have been the J-300 badge.
Paint Code 225 is Spruce Tip Green, which appears to be the main patina color. Trim Code 208 is for an Amber Interior.
The VIN plate is missing and would fill in some details, you can see where it was attached on the drivers side door pillar at 5:47, where the four holes are.
The original engine would have been a 230 Tornado OHC in-line 6. These were swapped out quite frequently by owner's wanting more power.

      Agree. No backup lights either.

Would be '63-64 as Jeep switched model series to J-2000/J-3000 from J-200/J-300 in the 1965 model year.

I have a 1966 Jeep J - 2000 Gladiator pickup and from what I see of the badging your subject vehicle appears to be between 1963 to 1965. The gas tank in the cab is a custom installation and I believe the engine should be a Vigilante 327 AMC V8.

Thanks! And thanks for watching! The gas tank really threw me, that's interesting if a bit odd, makes sense though.

Thats defiitley pre- 1971 Gladiator pickup. Probobly a J3000 You can tell by the post mount style leaf springs which were switched to frame under with shackle mounts in '71. Not sure what motor is in it. Possibly a Buick 350 which would have been standard equipment on some of these trucks.

Its probably a 69/70 depending on the big rear window and no side markers on the front fenders

@@jimmythejunkyarddawg sorry man don't know how I d instead of k ,but it looks not that bad a lot of the car's in U-PULL-IT here in Australia because the engine stops, Crank angle sensor, some just because they need bushes in the suspension, anything over 5 year's old most get a new one, the other sits until they send to the wreckers, people have just started to rebuild the old Holden and Ford because their now collectors items, all the best to you and your loved ones

I'm guessing it's a J-300 because of the beefier rear spring pack then my 64 J-200. It also looks like a small block chevy engine, if I was guessing the year I would say 65, 66, 67,

Interesting, thank you! The front is what threw me initially, in the meantime I realized they used the same four-light radiator support panel even behind the horizontal grille that only used the outer two headlights and just kept the inners open. I had assumed that this one had used the upright older grille. J-300 makes a lot of sense based on the passenger side (missing) badge, it just didn't all add up at the time!

I'd love to get that truck and completely rebuild it. Where is it at?

It's at Andersen's Salvage in Greeley, CO but I don't think they let whole vehicles go...Maybe in pieces? It was very cool, I did not intentionally hide or downplay anything in the video, but I have no idea of how bad it may really be and I have no affiliation with the yard. Thanks for watching!

Long gone, but there is a J-2000 more or less complete along with some other older Jeeps including a '66? Wagoneer and a Jeepster at Cheyenne Auto and Metal in Cheyenne, WY.
