Can you add the links to what you purchased on Amazon (e.g., electric fencing, plastic platform for water barrels, and float valve, etc.,)? I agree that yours is the best waterer. I'm glad I found it before cutting a hole in the top of my drum!

Sorry, taken me so long to go add the links. I added the links for the float value and the 9 conductor wire. The plastic platform came from grocery store surplus sale. It was used to make the displays at the end of the isles. I bought two of them and cut them in half. I liked them because stamped on them was "1500 pounds max". I found something similar on Amazon, but these are only 8" high. Mine are at least double that:

How do you keep the water cool in the. Hear of the day? Wouldn't it get super hot In that barrel like a hose does?

The simple solution is to add an automatic ice maker. Problem solved. You are welcome.

Look up "Rigid Watertight Hub 1/2-Inch Conduit Fitting". I also prefer 40gallon barrels with the snap ring lid.

Do you have to use something different to water in the winter with freezing temps?

We are in South Central Alabama. Don’t see a lot of weather cold enough to freeze the barrel. It occasionally gets cold enough to freeze the nipples, but it always warms up and thaws by mid-morning

We installed two nipples on a barrel. Lasted about 30 days before the pigs ripped them out of the barrel and the spigots are lost in the mud. A waste of time and money in my opinion.

Sorry to hear it didn't work for you.We have been using this successfully for all of our pigs for going on 2 years now. I think the key is that the nipples have to be above shoulder level of the pigs, or else they will pull them out. Once we figured that out, we haven't had any issues with them pulling them out. Right now, we have 5 of these out and working for our pigs. Works for our breading stick and our feeder groups.
