  • Although Omarion has admitted to being a baritone, his range surely exceeds that; with 3 octaves, 4 notes and a semitone under his belt.

    Yasss, u betta wurk! I been waitin for this. I love his lower register too. His F2 in Speedin SLAYED! But, what about the belts he did in that song too, I thought he did some pretty good belts in there too. That was like his best song vocally to me. He punched that F5 in the background too, beautiful.

    Omarion is a true tenor, his tessitura is too high to be a baritone, although he said it, there ain't no way his type voice be classified as baritone

      Based on his tessitura in this video, he's definitely a Baritone. Specifically a "Lyric Baritone" which means his range lies between a "Bass Baritone & Dramatic Tenor". He's the only Baritone in R&B today, everyone in R&B are Tenors it seems (Trey, August, Chris, Ne-yo, Miguel, ). The only other Baritone I'm aware of is Usher, but he would be considered a Baritenor because of his head voice abilities. Either way, I like Omarion's voice, he stands out from the rest of the heavily Tenor run R&B artist today! :)

    I came here ready to debunk Omarions range when I seen he went as low as F2 and as high as C6#, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I underestimated. He has range. First, he is a lyric tenor. Second, his range is more F2-G5#. Other notes were screeches. 3.1 octaves is impressive for a male. Also, his tessitura is more C3-Bb4. I am a lyric tenor and I can go as low as Eb2 and even hit a F2, but those are rare and I can only hit those notes when I am sick (due to the lowered tessitura) or on a very good day. Hes a great singer nontheless. thanks for making this video!!

      What’s your opinion if you compare him with usher or Chris brown ? In my opinion Omarion’s voice , sounds rare to me , unique

    • @musicallychallenged2848
      @musicallychallenged2848 3 роки тому +3

      @@nunomart2 Chris Brown has a lighter brighter tone. Chris has more agility in the upper register i comparison to Omarion. Omarion has a stronger and thicker tone and timbre in the middle voice than Chris however. Usher has a tenorish voice but he sits in more of the baritone or high baritone range for me. Of the 3 vocalist Usher is definitely number 3. Omarion and Chris can go tit for tat on range as both of them can go and dance. hmm. I'll just say that Chris is stronger in upper range while Omarion is stronger than middle range. No one today sounds like Omarion thought while there are alot of Chris Brown imitations out there, so yes Omarion sound is rarer than Chris to me as well.

To keep things simple and short I simply put them all together, but they are STILL organized by chest voice (including belts), mix and finally head.

    @Snackay Classical singers use head voice. Which is like falsetto except for the fact that head voice carries a lot more weight. I don't know if you know but falsetto is Italian for false voice.
    They do rely on auto-tune a lot...but Omarion is a rarity...well, at least when it comes to his low notes. Exclamations don't count as a part of your range. So, you can stop at G#5...

    @cynnthemanevolant the thing is head voice is different from falsetto. He is in full head voice from F4. I know this because i am a baritone. His head voice stops at A4 and you can so easily tell this because from B4 onwards its squeaky like a woman, thats how you know its falsetto. Falsetto and head voice are two different things. Go on wikipedia for explanation.

  • @freddiestorm
    @freddiestorm 13 років тому

    @Dubble015 That's truth the falsetto is an extension but is part of your range, one thing is register other is vocal range, the register is your natural chest voice without any extensions like falsetto or whistle register. (called this because is other register) The vocal range is the complete extension of your voice.

  • @SirDave
    @SirDave 14 років тому +2

    @iWurk Oh.. lol. I thought he belted a few notes higher on that song, guess not. & I agree those 2 songs do show off his range/vocals the best. Do you mind doing a vocal range video of Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry) & or Monica (including live & studio notes)? because they hit some notes in studio, but some of their range is shown more live.

  • @Snackay
    @Snackay 14 років тому

    @BlackLightning20101 The only way to really tell is to hear him sing live, with no amplification. There is so much studio manipulation these days, with computers, you can't tell much from a CD. His f4 sounds weak, but the G4 sounds strong. This must be because of the way it has been engineered.

  • @iWurk
    @iWurk  13 років тому

    @Dubble015 And sir, you have that backwards. Falsetto notes are airy. The only falsetto notes in this video is B4, C5 and part of the D5. The rest are pure head voice which is basically compressing the throat to allow less air through so it sounds "squeaky" as you said.

    @iWurk falsetto is not a component of head voice they are totally different due to the fact that to produce head voice you need chord closure whereas in falsetto there is no chord closure therefore it can't really be considered part of your range anyone can go really high in falsetto

    @iWurk All im saying is with no disrespect it's a pretty cool video but if you're really gonna do vocal range, categorise them properly. Chest Voice, Head Voice, Falsetto and Whistle. You can see for yourself that the tone of his A4 and B4 are quite different in sound. Baritones CANT drag chest voice up there its impossible it's just his head voice. Baritones have strong powerful voices so it doesn't sound light but it is their head voice. I'm a baritone who is trained.
