My interpretation of the lyrics is that she is singing to the fans. They are back after this long time, more mature but with a will to continue the amazing work from one of the greatest pop bands in history.
A few years ago, ABBA decided to reunite to create a new show (digital avatars of their younger selves) called ABBA Voyage. First, they recorded two new songs, but the show got delayed and they decided to record a few more, and later a full album also called ABBA Voyage was released in 2021. ✌️
It's like ABBA appeared one day again in our lives after 40 years, after overcoming all the frustration and tantrums that left them having been at the absolute peak of success worldwide. They ask for a new opportunity since in this time they learned a lot.
The whole "Voyage" album is great and very much ABBA, It's always kinda crazy with them Bjorn wrote these lyrics for Agnetha to sing. Frida's single is "I Still Have Faith In You". The girls do more harmony's on it and even Bjorn doe's some. It's a very touching song and you get to see the ABBAtars at the end.
When I heard this song for the first time I cried soo much...Its clear a sorry for being alway for so long from Abba...40 years after and they still absolutely amazing..My favorite band in the whole world. I was so.lucky to see Abba Voyage concert 3x..Can't wait to go again.
Gosh you are late to the ABBA party! I went 200 miles across southern UK to see the astonishing, unique, revolutionary 'concert' in the hall they built in East London, to celebrate my 70th birthday almost two years ago. Almost 3 years since the unexpected, historic final album was released to the world. If you can beg, steal or borrow go to it. Perhaps they might set it up in Las Vegas or Japan some time also. Like you I was definitely not originally an ABBA fan, more Led Z. etc. in the 1970's, but I have later come to appreciate the clever excellence of the music, lyrics and performance of this group. Quality will out, as proved by over 2 years of the 'concert' twice a day, every day in London; a knowledgeable, worldwide audience which does not suffer fools. Just do not ever watch the universally slated pair of films!
willswomble. I acknowledge that the Mamma Mia films were corny and some of the singing was below par, but they did serve to expose their audience to many songs that the general public had never heard. Those films and the stage show piqued my interest enough to explore ABBA's catalogue in depth, leading me to now consider them the best band I've ever heard - even surpassing the FabFour in production, arrangement, performance, and above all, songwriting.
I cried like a baby when I first heard it. Definitely a love letter to the fans. Still bring a tear to my eye and I've heard it a hundred times. You might also like to check out "I still have faith in you" and "Just a notion" as new releases on the same album
you mean the other release? because there are like TEN songs on the album LOL They also released a music video for :Little THings at Christmas that year.
@@ZakhadWOW I should have said "an other song" and not "the other song..". I mentioned it because both songs of the album are the most popular.. but the other releases are really beautiful. Little things is amazing as well. BTW thee is an official video for "I still have faith in you".
This song is basically is about the whole Voyage project, the lyrics are about combining their old and their new personas (“in this shape and form I appear now” the digital abbatars) and they told us they are here to stay (the Voyage live concerts can go forever), like they are singing to the fans
I'm so happy you've found out about their new album. There's 9 more new songs and endlessamounts of new ABBA content around their digital avatar show that's been running twice daily in London for 2 years now.
Love how speechless you were afterwards. ABBA's Voyage album made me fall in love with them more than ever. I second the recommendations of "I Still Have Faith in You" and "I Can Be That Woman". Very moving.
Oh! They sound similar to more than 40 years ago. I was just a baby when they were successful all over the world, especially in Europe but also in many other countries. I hadn't heard this song so far and it was good, so thanks for that Charlene. Greetings from across the ocean again, take care 👋
Both songs were presented by BBC via live streaming Sept.'21.Twas a longawaited event since anounced in 2018. Multiple video shots of people who got captured on camera crying from a flood of emotions got in utube since then.Album was a no1 chartbuster in Nov.'21.
They kept concealed what is the meaning of the song is all about. But Bjorn used to make a lyrics base on real life situation of what they are going through as a band as a former couple and friend. That is why Agnetha can put that story in a way she is the first person whom she is emphasizing. You can feel the emotions of the four of them after all those years they were living separately. But the bond to keep their treasured moments together were essentialy cherished in their heart which only the four of them knew.
As someone else has commented, this song came out at the same time as "I Still Have Faith In You' as the lead singles from their last album 'Voyager'. The key thing to recognise about this song is that it was tied in with their virtual ABBAtars and the subsequent virtual concert experience that is still running. When they're talking about being 'uploaded' and 'now and then combined', yes they're talking about life experience and how that could impact the relationship mentioned in the song (whether that be with another person or with ABBA's audience) as well as referring to the fact that they're about to appear in a new form to their audience as ABBAtars. I've seen the Voyager experience in London when I was there last and, like everyone else who has seen it, my mind was blown. You actually forget that you're watching virtual versions of the band and just get sucked into the experience, walking away feeling like you've just truly seen ABBA. It's also worth noting that their music is written by the two guys; Bjorn and Benny. In fact, all of their hits were like that... which is kind of sadistic when you think of songs like 'The Winner Takes It All' and then getting your ex-wife to sing it.
The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop quartet ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came" in 1982) and the edition of new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack" in 1982 too) and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors" in 1981) Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid "Don't shut me down" (2021) it's another surprise from ABBA A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice. Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us. and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits And it ends, like the begining, with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music") now we have the new album "Voyage" since last November 2021, with four nominations to Grammys awards 2023 (two for album and two for these song) and one more nomination the year before to the other single "i still have faith in You" that you should react to the official video is so emotional and the new ABBA Concert in the new ABBA Arena at London (with ABBAtars of Themselfes) Thank for your great reaction and for Your respect to ABBA music see in next ABBA vídeo GOD bless You my best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South América

this song is a message to all ABBA fans, that they are back.
ABBA forever
Nominated for record of the year and best pop vocal performance by a duo/group at the 2023 grammy ceremony.
I’m envious of anyone hearing an ABBA song for the first time.
My interpretation of the lyrics is that she is singing to the fans. They are back after this long time, more mature but with a will to continue the amazing work from one of the greatest pop bands in history.
They were in their 80's producing this, and designing the concert in London, so treasure the album, it IS the final one.

it's another surprise from ABBA
A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be
(and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age)
And we find a magnificent work
The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice.
Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us.

now we have the new album "Voyage" since last November 2021, with four nominations to Grammys awards 2023
(two for album and two for these song)
and one more nomination the year before

No, there were no romantic reunions. Agnetha and Bjorn have children together so their lives are/were always entwined, but the romance ended way back.
