It has good sound, does it have the side white markers? Does it stay in-tune? Why do you recommend fluorocarabon or just nylon? Do you use low G? If so, what string brand? Does it come with case that is worth salt? So many questions unanswered. I think you're review is half-ass.
Reviews with acoustic instruments should be done without microphones and in rooms set up to capture all the natural characteristics of the sound. Nevertheless, this is a good review.

just brought one for £10 red one local charity shop good condition, already have a more expensive tenor but did want a soprano, love it already

Most of mahalo uke are made of good quality wood, bone saddle, ebony bridge and same used too sometime on fretboard. The sound is correct, some more than other depending on the model (and so the wood which it was made of) and most of the models hold the tuning after less than seven days, and come with Aquila Nylgut strings.
Conclusion, nope it's not cheesy at all lmao. They are very good, especially at this price range, the only one who can beat them on this price range are the Flight brand ukes, which make very good songs and hold greatly the tune, but outside that are more with ABS than wood.
