"Part of learning is acknowledging that you don't know everything, but you are capable of learning." Well said! With everything you reflected on, you'll be a great pilot!
You really did a great video here! I liked the whole journey described from the sim, through the soldering and BF and then to the real world. This whole path + also the building the drone makes this hobby a real cool experience. Have fun and don't give up! 😊
What a great video. Never thought about how much i learned about fpv, and in still learning. This video represents perfectly the feeling that we get, the process and all. Keep it on
One of the better FPV Journey videos I have seen. Im at almost 300 hours in Velocidrone and still learning. And that mid skill plateau you mentioned is a real thing. Ended up altering my rates and cam angle to get me over that hump.
FPV taught me how to learn, im a teenager and i've always felt like learning is impossible for me, i've never found anything i've been that interested in and school had given me a sour taste for almost everything, but fpv has taught me how to get myself to learn, FPV is more than just a hobby.
I like the video. What I find interesting is that I think everyone learns different. I usually don't learn about something and say "This is a lot more complicated than I thought", it's almost always the opposite. Someone makes something out to be rocket science, and when you have the time to actually get your hands dirty, you realize it's not as complex as they led you to believe. At least in my experience. Cheers and keep flying.
Dude you opened my eyes and blew my mind, you made me look at the process of learning all over and belive me im old i should be your elder but......thank you back to acro flying tomm.
Great video! Very well said! Glad you are enjoying the hobby and the process... 😎🤘 A newbie replied to a post I made on a channel and asked how he could fly FPV quick, without doing much. It was like, how is it possible to answer something that he has no clue about, to not turn him off to the hobby and the inevitable process REQUIRED to do FPV? I simply encouraged him to watch videos, learn, and understand that there's no short cut to FPV. Fly in the simulators and enjoy the process and you can do it.
Reminded me of everything I went through getting started in FPV. I did find myself going 'oh no he's got a cinewhoop style quad! That's not going to fly much like the sim'. Good work though.
best description of this specific learning curve.. ;-) i´m in this hobby for 10 years, but there is always something to learn (sometimes by pain) lol Thanks
Great speak on the universal experience of learning to fly fpv qwads. The curve is steep when you’re a total noob but you get that yearning when you see what’s possible from a few good freestyle and flow pilots flinging these bricks around thru space and time with precision and finesse. It ain’t easy but invest a little time practice desire (a simulator is critical) and you’ll be power looping and split S-ing before you know it. Joshua Bardwell’s probably the best online source IMO. Anyway enjoyed the perspective and good luck.
WouW, Dude, you're back 🤙🍻🌻! Great!!! Grrrreeeeeetings from germany! Love your Clips....they always bring the Sun and fun, direkt to my brain. Thank you so, so much for your work and your spirit, bro! But i never heard about FP dingsbums drones....maybe i'm to old and too oldschool for that hot, new shit 😉! Greetz and a big hug to the Titan 🤙
Can totally relate to what you said about how the drone you feel when you get that birds eye view and also see your self from a different perspective and also about the learning process 👍. Trying to get into FPV myself for the very same reasons, it was Mr. Steele and Black Sheep fpv videos that blew my mind away completely. Trying to start small as of now getting into the cine whoop 2 inch cine whoops.
This is awesome content. I’m just 2 hours in with my FPV and already on my 2nd quad (don’t ask). Everything you talked about is on point, except I went digital. Keep it coming.
Everything you described in this video is the difference between being a fast learner and not. Someone who is a fast learner understands that they have to pace themselves and not just dive in head first. Honestly you have described the learning process better than any teacher I've ever had. Although I've always been a natural learner, I've never been a very good teacher. I think another attribute about being a quick learner is knowing when it's time to take a risk. Without taking risks you can plateau much faster, and delay your development of that skill. That is not to say it should be a risk to individuals but a risk to yourself.
Awesome! I would suggest getting a better power to weight ratio quad. The whoops are great, but not for acro freestyle. Get yourself a BNF King Kong ET125, you'll learn acro flight much faster with that quad, and learn to fly it LOS (line of sight) as well!
everyone that says that is full of shit. Its not going to burn up your VTX.. your antenna is a open circuit itself unless its a cloverleaf and most transmitters has a set transmission power so its not gonna try harder if its not connected
Nice story. Touched on a lot of things all very true thanks for your work. Oh now that you're not longer a noob start calling it a transmitter instead of a remote 😂
Most cinewhoops are harder to fly then non ducted drones. I’ve never done a simulator I started with an iflight megabee and now it’s a year and a half later and I have two 5” a 3” and a 2.5” all dji fpv and I love it. I finally got over the fear of soldering lol
do you pinch or thumbs? I just started lift off with my.TX12.. I got my whole family doing the simulation program.. The next day I did better with my Eachine Novice IV .
Man, I custom built my first FPV drone with medium high end parts and started in horizon mode. 2 Weeks later in a windy park, I went sideways in acro. I punched out completely upside down driving the drone into the pavement. I found parts scattered for 30-50 yards. One motor and the transmitter were salvageable. I went to rebuild and THEN decided on the simulator. It saved me hundreds of dollars. I still wreck but nothing like I did before. Mostly lose it for 30 - 200 minutes at worst now, heh.
@@tomeaston2962 same bought a mob6 and eachine 5 inch at the same time luckily flew the whoop first on second frame at the minute I was ignorant to most things coming from dji a lot to learn but also a lot of fun
Very similar to my journey, started with phantom 4 then bought the dji goggles and got the bug ordering a mobula6 tiny whoop then a 5 inch eachine wizard x220 I have not flown the 5 inch yet as I’m trying to master the whoop first I have not seen the sim so maybe that would save me money swapping out crashed frames etc. where do I get liftoff anyone? Thanks
Liftoff is on Steam. Definitely try the SIM. I have a tiny whoop now too and I love flying that thing but if I fly that for a while and switch back to my 5inch, it’s like flying a bucking bronco. But the tiny is so much fun.
at first he powered the Kwad up without antenna attached and already damaged his Vtx bevor doing anything. it seems it works still after that. if its a few sec. does nothing but not good. it could also work after but its still damaged, not like new. Maybe not clearly on supposed channels anymore. might cause problems wenn flying with others and such things. Antenna must alway be installed wenn you plug in a lipo. he could not know i did the same stuff wenn i was new to the hobby.
Check out joshua Bardwells channel. Everything you need to know he has. 👍👍
Finally a sailing channel does FPV. Can't wait to see the shots from all the remote places you can get to. Good luck!
"Part of learning is acknowledging that you don't know everything, but you are capable of learning." Well said! With everything you reflected on, you'll be a great pilot!
Excellent explanation about the stages and difficulties required for FPV.
Love the humbleness of your voice and explanation of learning. WTG!

Saw this video reccomended to me on Google, so glad I found your channel man. Love the content
What a great video. Never thought about how much i learned about fpv, and in still learning. This video represents perfectly the feeling that we get, the process and all. Keep it on
You've done it again, much respect my friend

Great video. I like the way your explanation of the experience. It's frustrating at times but once you get it. You get it. Thanks for sharing
Nice video and a good walk-through. I just started FPV 2 months ago and I am loving it. Nice channel too.

Oh hell yeah. I'm subbed to FLORB and now to see you in FPV is awesome.
That's coool. Alwais trying new things, exploring and living 🤙🤙👍🏻
Right on man! Congratulations!
This is great! I am hyped for you, as i am also getting into FPV at the moment.
You got the sub m8
You got it way faster than me . I went out flying after 40h on sim . Real content 🙌
Yes same here, I too didn't want to rush.
probably the best fpv drone learners vid. a whole bunch of wisdom and insight.
What an amazing inspiring video!! Cheers
About to hit my first year of fpv and it's such a fun/heartbreaking journey. Excited to see your content!
Yes, appreciate the time in learning!!
Great video, inspiring.
Thanks.
But doesn’t it feel so gratifying after you pass all these obstacles and you finally get it to fly. It’s such a great feeling!!!
LOL, cannot wait to see the evolution of your droning skills!
Excellent explanation of how to - practice. On a sim first for a long time.

nice storyline and some wise words. Finally the FPV community diversify.

Nice work dude!
Good luck on your new found fpv journey. It took me a month before I got the courage to soldier.
Awesome! This makes me want to trade in my DJI
I specialize in helping new people get into fpv. I can help you. I've been building fpv drones for a living for almost 4 years now.
Do it

great contents. I'm on the same path right now. Subbed.
Watch a pilot who fly's everyday. Will help ya out. God bless
has anybody else noticed that in the initial stages he was plugging in the quad with out the vtx antenna attached?

TIP argh, try not to power on your quad unless your antennae is screwed on, it could burn up your video transmitter quickly

Seeing you plug an analog quad in without the VTX antenna on had me so upset hahah. But that’s how ya learn- from mistakes hahah
Me too, I was literally grinding my teeth :D
I like you😂
Cool video!!!
When all else fails, just shake the shit out of the tree. You need one of those machines that knock the olives down! Lol
4:59 OH GOD F*** F*** PLUG IN NO ANTENNA WTF
6:33 OH S*** NOT AGAIN
7:10 finally got an antenna, good thing vtx didn't burn
The things we learn when it’s too late usually!

드론을 직접제작도하시는가요 대박입니다
For everybody who thinks you can fly a fpv drone because you can fly a dji drone, a dji drone basically flies itself xD
@JMB yes, but even there the full manual mode is way different from the stabilizing modes

Pls when you power on the drone put an antenna bcs you can burn your vtx
I try not to correct people’s spelling, but shouldn’t it be MegaSTAR?

Mr Steele is king if you haven't seen his channel
nooo you powered up your quad without a vtx antenna

Cool hobby!
