The sheer relief and joy at the end mate…. So cool to see. And the proper excited wave at the old girl was class as well. Superb Mr Seabourne, just superb
It's not always guaranteed that they won't 😅 but seriously the driving standards are excellent and to see 40+ cars packed so tightly with no contact is quite something!
Well done Mike a brilliant drive through the traffic jam . Car sounds great and you could have won the race outright if you had a good starting place ?
It is a bit isn't it! 😁 there's something about home built race cars, you start out with the best of intentions of it all being very tidy and inevitably it ends up looking like something Dr Frankenstein would cook up!
Thank you. The XJS has an OEM Powerlok LSD, going to a more sophisticated ATB diff is a possibility but is almost certainly overkill for a mid-spec racing XJS!
Tom Lenthall has just started a UA-cam channel, it's new so not packed with content yet but I'm sure he'd take a suggestion- and he is a man who knows his way around a V12. Tom Barclay is also someone who knows everything there is to know about big power Jag motors.
Amazingly it's still on its original which had already been raced for a few years even before I bought it. There have been two engine changes in that time and the clutch has come out looking in great shape so has gone back in again! I did grenade one in my old car but that was not of the highest quality 😁
Hi Jamie, it's actually a 4.0 AJ16 which is the most popular race engine for an XJS- the V12s tend to require a lot more attention to go not a whole lot faster, the sixes are well developed and understood and easy to get reliable power from. This one has a completely standard bottom end, ported and skimmed head, Jaguar Sport intake manifold and tubular exhaust manifold, bigger injectors and an electronic distributor. It's somewhere approaching 300bhp.
I've had a couple of the sixes, includind a 3.6 manual saloon. very underrated engine. have you had to do much to allow for the bigger injectors... mapping etc?@@mikeseabourneracing4854
Heh, cool stuff. By one of those weird coincidences, my racing number of 24 when I raced an XJS. Fantastic battle with that XK8.
Seeing those Jaguars in the grid is just so wholesome
Nice driving , sounds great pulls great. That passenger side window is about to part company from the car!

Wow!! Great driving skills!!
Great results for starting last, awesome! ;-)
Great fun. Thanks for posting.
Bare knuckle racing! Great job!
Amazing! How in the world do all the cars not smash into each other?!

Great, thanks
cannot believe this only has 260 views
Smooth driving, as per the motor👍
What a beast! Sounds awesome to, good driving

The inside of that car was a bit of a science project.
Good drive, though.

Mega mega job pal.
I wonder how many clutches got stripped on a racing start 😮
Mega job Mike, I’ll be following all season 👍
Well done Mike.
LOVE IT
Nice driving!
Amazing
Nice drive. Adding an lsd would probably help your enjoyment and lap time. On the other hand it may enhance the chronic understory.

How come it's so hard to find tuning videos on this car? I've always wanted to know how a forged and built v12 would perform on boost.

I have to wonder, will the Jaguar V-12 fit in a Jaguar XK-8?!
Now that is a very interesting idea! It shares a lot of architecture with the XJS so who knows, maybe it will..!
How many clutches have you put in it?

Is that 5.3 or the 6.0? And how tweaked is it?
