    I'm not even a dude and I'm not even Asian, but this advice is so straightfoward. This is a goldmine. I'm even hyping up this video to my other female friends because they struggle with social skills. My big issue is fashion and career. But I could definitely work on everything here. Thanks man.

    I agree with this list but I would say:
    1. There's a sixth pillar for more feminine things like cooking, playing the piano, being cultured, dancing. It's not as important as the other pillars though, but it's worth spending time on this after excelling at the other categories.
    2. Cold approaching people is good practice but I feel like it's not the natural way of progressing socially and can be daunting. Usually people improve their social skills through friend/work groups, parties, events, meetups for hobbies, team sports, the nature of your job. It's also a better way of integrating into society/communities.

    • @timhu69
      @timhu69  7 місяців тому +46

      Both good points, I think point #1 can be categorized similarly with career/social skills in that it adds depth to your character past physical traits. Your point about friend/work groups is also true, but with a lot of events/parties, even friends of friends are technically strangers and so being able to talk w/ strangers is important & cold approaching is like a super boost to improving that.

    • @DanielGoldaux
      @DanielGoldaux 6 місяців тому +25

      Nah, I think cold approaching gives something that none of those other things gives, it removes your sense of security, and gets you to feel comfortable doing the uncomfortable

      @@overlyfatman9722 Even dancing is more masculine than cooking lmao. Dancing is about showing off your body moving various ways to a rhythm, while cooking is ultimately servile, no matter how fancy you are about it.

    I really appreciate the last section with the life platform/pillar graphic.
    As someone with adhd tendencies it’s difficult to keep track of priorities, especially if there are no deadlines.
    This way of looking at it gives me a better sense of how to stay grounded and balanced.

Was really thinking of working on myself, for the past year I've been feeling in the dumps for a while haha, the 4th pillar is definitely hard for me covid just made an introvert, want to approach people and make new friends but it's hard irl than online but I'll try my best!! I'll most likely struggle with fashion and social skills :((

    Once I graduated college & got my first job soon after at the start of 2020, for whatever reason I started developing plenty of cystic acne around my chin, jaw & cheek areas. I mean I've had cystic acne before, but it was never this bad. Idk what caused it, maybe it was because that was my first 1st shift job ever, or since it was my first IT job, it was the stress, or maybe it was depression because me & some girl stopped talking, but It was super downbad about going to work everyday like that. That was right before the pandemic hit too, so they started requiring mask, which I think also contributed to my acne. I was a bit relieved when the pandemic hit & we were fully remote then. During that time, I decided to give up soda, even when I go to a fast food, I would just ask for bottled water with my meal. And I also started using La Roche Posay, & I think it helped. My facial skin isn't amazing, but I'm content with it. I'll get a pimp here & there, but it'll never be that bad & I don't think I had a cyst in a while. At first I was doing the full La Roche Posay routine, but got lazy & now I just use the face watch. I'll use the other products from the routine every now & then when I see a pimple or feel like I'm breaking out, & it works for me.

Im a tall mixed black white guy but a lot of the points in this, while "obvious" are important and I like how you made it actionable. I def know a few ppl who desperately need these tips. ngl im doing these 5 things and have been on like 70ish dates in the past year in NYC but still havent had much success finding a S.O
    Im 5'11", 28 y.o AM make top 1% in America, 0.1% for my age group, 6.75" down under, went to a top 20 school and have masters, I would say I have top 5 percentile skin, above average in looks, naturally ISTJ so that hurts my odds as I sometimes have trouble making conversations more smooth and less awkward but have worked on that quite a bit (alc helps!), I would say top 25% in terms of body/fitness? im definetely not a casual lifter anymore having worked out consistently for 10+yrs, and definetely spent a lot on researching fashion and upgrading my wardrobe, also I take high quality DSLR pics so its easy to get matches and go on dates.
    personality seems to be a huge thing holding me back, also it hurts since i have high standards haha
    Also its not easy looking for something serious in NYC with so many options

    And most importantly, have confidence. No matter if your the Adonis amongst men or just human. A man who can laugh at himself and look up at the sky and say “F*ck it.” Is if not the most charming and human things someone can do, flawed but still human. Be yourself, away from stereotypes, mental health, insecurities and impurities, once you realize that you’re truly are your own individual, everything, and everyone seems to make sense.

    To all asians, from an asian, remember the most important thing when you're trying to get a good personality is being a nice person overall.
    1. People cater to nice people, cool and uncool people alike and connections you make age better.
    2. Remember that you represent all us asians, the ones that came before and comes after.
    3. You give asians in the west a good role modell of an asian person actually living in the west. Most of our role modells growing upp were probably jackie chan, goku or buakaw whom all didn't live in the west.
    You might have had a great interaction with someone but if you're not a nice person, that's going to rot your social life.

    Great job covering a majority of these issues; very foundational and informational.
    I'm Thai/Viet, this is what I've learned: just as Asian women, who are fetishized, so are Asian men. Stereotypically, we're seen as nerdy, smart etc but also as a sexy and skilled race of people. Take advantage of these positives and exceed expectations; be excellent in everything you do.
    Since most of us here are Asian, I'll just be blunt: women love our 'chinky' eyes & soft yet sharp features. We're the perfect balance of masculine and feminine, the ying and yang. Redirect their gaze & attention to your face: groom your brows, have a skin care routine as stated in the video: cleanser and moisturizer should suffice (my dermatologist recommends to include retinol and sunscreen. I personally include an eye cream as well, everything Cerave). If you got acne, don't let it affect your confidence but do something about it: see a dermatologist, exercise, diet, minimize your vices. Also have a cool hairstyle. Our culture has anime and edginess, take inspiration from this haha.
    Physique: Genetically, a lot of us are gifted with broad shoulders and decent shape; work with what God gave you! Build a nice chest and shoulders. Pullups have helped me obtained an absolutely SLUTTY physique. with my back being my strongest feature. The vtaper wide back, broad shoulder, & small waist is undefeated when it comes to the female gaze. Also, have decent arms, the bigger the better. An aesthetic, lean, muscular build caters to a majority of men & women. Most of us naturally look like this so capitalize on what you have. If you're blessed with more muscle mass, you can NEVER, EVER go wrong with being a swoledier boi, let's be real gang.
    Style: Tim goes over this well. At first, you may feel awkward wearing something you're not used to but the more you incorporate it into your wardrobe, the more natural it will be. Learn to accessorize. For me, I use a cheap old money Casio watch, a hair tie, a red string "Asian" bracelet, an "Asian" beaded bracelet, and a gold chain that my mother gave me that I tuck in my shirt. I think the more subtle and simple you can be, the sexier you'll look. The thing about accessories is that it doesn't have to be quality. I use H&M and it's cheaaap. A night out look for me is a fitted shirt to highlight my build tucked into some jeans/slacks, belt and boots. I thrift so my look is probably under $100 every time. Personally, it's my biggest flex the cheaper my fit is haha but If you don't know where to start, think of the typical Kevin Nguyen / Li Shang meme with the fitted black tee, chain, and tatts. A good starter and generally sexy look on men of any race but of course, the goal is to add more individuality into your look. This will happen over time.
    Skills: We've all had comments that Asians do some sort of kung-fu karate, etc implying people view us as people who are SKILLED. I've gotten comments like these multiple times in the past few weeks because of my physique, style, and how I carry myself (I don't do any martial arts haha): use this stereotype to your advantage! The more physical the skill is the better in my opinion; it plays on the whole stereotype of being a "ninja" and athletic. Being good in the arts such as playing an instrument (typical in our culture; piano, guitar, etc) is very sexy. Kpop/BTS has had a huuuuge influence globally, please thank Junglekock daily.
    Finally have some standards and be different. Ditch the drugs, alcohol, vapes, etc. Everyone and their mother does that nowadays. Be the black sheep like Cloud Strife yadigg (iykyk). Other races generally see us in a positive light so take advantage of this. Like I said before, minimize your vices, capitalize on your strengths, play on your stereotypes, be self aware, and build your confidence and money. PEACE&LOVE.

    Im just a minute in and you've already pretty much hit the nail on the head.
    As a gay dude whose primarily attracted to Asian guys, everything you said pretty much lines up with what I think too. Especially with what you said about most of your "competition" being guys who are skinny fat -- its actually not as hard as people think to slim down and "be more attractive". As you said, eating clean protein is a surefire way to slimming down. People dont realize how satiating eating JUST protein can be, which can lead to less calories, while supplying the necessary building blocks for the muscles. It might not be "easy" but its WAAYY simpler than it looks.
    Overall great advice haha! My gay ass approves

    You can stand out as a lone wolf or a sigma male also. It invokes alot of curiosity in people especially when you wear fancy but dark clothing all the time.

    • @inuhundchien6041
      @inuhundchien6041 4 місяці тому

      Doesn't work if you don't have the face. If you are a moody depressive looking person (from the outside the loners all look like this) nobody cares to look into the 'real' you if you look like any other mob.
      But if you have an outgoing personality having a passerby face is fine since your personality will already be imprinted on others even if your face is forgettable.

    • @Gin81593
      @Gin81593 4 місяці тому

      @@inuhundchien6041 Wtf are you talking about. Youre basically referencing a depressed person with his head down and and outgoing person with and outgoing personality. This isnt even introvert vs extrovert....its just depressed vs extrovert. An example of a sigma male is a lonewolf who wears a leatherjacket and even though hes not the life of the party, hes a "wolverine" type character who doesnt care what others thinks......Doesnt care to be alpha but isnt a beta either.

    Those five things are correct. But I would prefer talking with people who make sense, which is completely different from having good "social skills".
    A warm, intelligent and polite person impresses me. I don't care how they look but it would be a plus if they are attractive physically.
    The person who is talking is a bit shy, I think. I can be wrong but there is some shyness in him.
    He is probably the type of person who is shy at first but once he got comfortable, you will really enjoy his company.

    To every Asian dude who’s skeptical about following this videos principals, you DO NOT need to change your core personality and aspirations to achieve this. That being said you should aim to strike something of a balance between all 5 in some way while also forming your own little nuance. For example, i’m a British-Filipino bloke (raised in Essex, England) and I live in NYC.
    A year ago after a particular nasty breakup that did a number on my mental health and self esteem for a few minutes I went through a bona fide villain era (fucking hate saying that unironically 😂 ), I started investing in my fitness and physique again (through a clean and lean diet, Boxing, Muay Thai and daily 1 hour cardio), switched my aesthetic by virtue of two small silver piercings, experimenting with jewelry and a wavy/loose curly perm to my grown out hair, invested in skincare products me and i adopted a quiet luxury/pretty boy wardrobe, and wear quarter zips and khaki trousers/pants now, and of course the British Accent was nothing short of a piece de resistance when it came to dating here in the states lmao.
    In terms of my career I’m currently aiming for a switch up towards the public sector.
    The point is, it was only a year ago I was like all the skeptics and neighsayers when it came to switching up my brand for the sake glowing up.
    It’s been a year since and stepping out of my proverbial comfort zone and changing up my looks, aesthetics, values and priorities has honestly changed my life for the better
    All the while I’m still the same homesick essex boy from Wickford, now living in America, who watches premier league football on Sundays and craves nandos 24/7, I’m just riding the high of emerging Asian male aesthetics and leveraging every aspect of my roots to my advantage.
