Can’t imagine any issues but an M1 Mac mini starts at $699 (I got one on sale new for $550!) Intel starts at $1099 Is there something you need on Intel? Intel apps usually work on M1 under Rosetta 2 built in to translate.

I work in a kitchen and often close. Handling raw chicken and other food stuffs and oil, constantly getting up and down means I don’t want to use my fancy Sony headphones, or my truly wireless earbuds because I don’t want to touch them. So the apple earbuds are perfect because they sound good enough and they’re cheap enough that I don’t care about abusing them
The Mag Safe Duo is an awesome travel charger. Yeah it should’ve hade fast charging for the watch but the compact footprint and ability to charge both my phone and watch is what I’m looking for in a travel charger.
I work as a graphic designer and studios love the Magic Mouse and I just don’t get it. I bounce from computer to computer with my cheap Logitech mouse, it’s so much nicer to use.
Nobody loves the magic mouse. Mainly the only people that use it are the ones that feel like they need to have an Apple keyboard and an apple mouse to go with their Apple computer and their apple display.
many apps no longer work on 4 inch screen. It just igonres tapping because the icons are too small. And battery drains out very quickly on the last gen iPod touch. I thought they would update it though.
I have the Apple TV 4K, and don't even use it, it's literally sitting in a box somewhere. I got it when i signed up for Spectrum Cable, I was making payments towards it, but then I moved and had to return the Spectrum equipment but the person at the Spectrum store had no idea what to do about the Apple TV box so she just told me to keep it. So I ended up paying maybe $30 for it in total.
I feel sad now cause I got my first Apple Watch for Christmas and it it a series 3, it works really well for just what I need, now I’m upset it’s eventually not gonna have enough storage to even update 😢
There's some confusion about the magsafe battery pack. The purpose of it is to attach it to your phone so that it has a higher total capacity. It's supposed to be a pseudo-permanent addition, not a charger. The rest of the list is spot on.
I am actually still using the series 3 apple watch 3 years later... I did have the problem updating the OS , but found often if you update through the app on your phone it will work.. would I want a newer Apple watch .. yes.. but this one is still working fine.. is it worth the pricetag they want for it now when newer models are not much more? heck no.. but for what it was when it was new... it was worth it then... not now..

And they were right, I am that commenter, because its TRUE!!!!!
I actually like the cheapest Apple TV because I keep it in a closet and only use it as a HomeKit hub. It works perfectly and there is no point spending extra on something that I don’t even look at.
The Magic Mouse is actually amazing when video editing because it easily it the best horizontal scrolling mouse. However for anything else I use a regular mouse.
Remember the Mighty Mouse with the mini scroll ball in the middle? I really enjoyed the horizontal scrolling on that mouse. I think I still have it around somewhere.
I work in IT, some colleagues still request a magic mouse stating they can't use anything else. I've tried to convert them to MX Masters... But I give up.
I bought a Apple series 3 last year, I had the storage issue only once(fixed by wiping it clean and then updating) but since then every update has installed without issue soo.., but now it unsupported and just going to be a display piece alongside my iPhone se 2nd gen (i switched back to android)
Was fully expecting to see the Studio Display on this list, but then looked at the datestamp and realized this came out before many tech media outlets had a chance to drop a review on it lol 😵💫
i actually still have an apple watch series 3 that i bought in 2020 and been meaning to upgrade and will probably upgrade to the SE 2022 model soon. I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a series 3 apple watch. only reason why i kept the watch is i at least still get notifications but yeah storage sucks on it and definately need a huge upgrade
I can see why Apple are still selling some of these products. Intel Mac Mini, there may be people who still genuinely need an Intel Mac for some reason and keeping the Mac Mini on sale means those people are more likely to buy from Apple rather than buying something on the used market or something (which makes Apple more money) The wired earbuds with the headphone plug are likely aimed at people who have a Mac with a headphone jack (which includes even some current generation M1 MacBook models from the look of it) and want wired earbuds they can use with said Mac. The 5W adapter is probably still sold because its smaller than the other 2 and therefore its easier to carry with you. The Apple TV HD is probably still being sold because people are buying the HD who wouldn't have paid the extra for the 4K. The USB optical drive is probably sold just because there are still people who need to read CDs and DVDs on a Mac (and its easier to keep making the existing drive than to make something newer and faster just for that market) And for the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple probably wants a "low-end" watch (or as "low-end" as Apple gets anyway) to better compete with some of the other smartwatches on the market (there are almost certainly people who will buy a Series 3 watch for $199 instead of buying a competitor but would buy a competitor instead of a $279 Watch SE) That and some of these things are likely "we still have all this stock left so we need to keep selling them".
The Magic Keybord is one of only two physical keyboards that will show up inside the Quest 2 VR environment. That alone means it should continue to exist.
8:05 So, I don't want to name the company themselves because their reasoning does kind of make sense, but I ran into this very issue at work not too long ago. Even worse, it was a stupid and common part that we needed for an item that had been discontinued a really long time ago but we needed a specific size and NO ONE ELSE sells that specific size of this part. We COULD just go pick up a normally-sized version, but then it wouldn't fit in the metal shell. The manufacturer didn't make the specific size of this part anymore because they didn't make the metal shell it came in anymore. What P-ed me off even more about this is that the device itself was clearly built so you can easily remove this part if it stops working and replace it with another.... sold by this company.... and ONLY this company... UGH!!!!! I did find it used on another site, but for some absolutely infuriating reason this site had removed any ability to "Add to cart" or "Buy it Now". WHY even list the damn part on your store if you're not going to sell it?!? I wasn't even allowed to buy from that vendor through work anyway so it didn't matter but still!
I beg to disagree on the Apple TV HD. I get it, I bought it at the SAME PRICE of $150 back in 2017, but it is still far more capable than your normal Fire TV or Chromecast, you can play games natively and intuitively on it and it has the best looking UI out of any other streaming box out there imo.
So apple charges you for shit they used to give you with a device? Apple still sells accessories that no longer work with new devices? I knew I didn't like them for good reason..
The oldest and dumbest item Apple still sells (don't know if they still manufacture any) is the 30 pin USB cable. It came out in 2003 along side the 1st USB iPod. The Super Drive was released in 2007 alongside the MacBook Air. Another dumb product Apple still sells is the VESA adapter for the iMac Pro. Who needs one now? If you needed one, you already have one.
The thing with the mouse is easily fixed by making it slightly bigger and adding a usb c to the front, and making it usable via usb c and Bluetooth whilst charging
Apple still has the Dual Sense on their website.. but nowhere in the description or fine print does it tell you that you have to be plugged in to the computer to use Haptic triggers/rumble. Just goes on about how great wireless works natively
Apple should really stop selling EVERYTHING! Sure, much of their HARDWARE is decent, but they don't make ANY of the parts that make it good. They take OLD ideas from 4+ years ago, and tell the world they invented it. Kinda like Elon Musk did with the vacuum train that was invented over 100 years ago, and he called it a hyperloop. Not a single thing Apple does is innovative. It's recycled ideas from other companies in an ugly package. That last part is just my opinion. Some people might actually like their designs, but I can't stand the majority of their designs. Their operating systems _MUST_ die ASAP! There is nothing worse than MacOS or iOS for someone who actually knows how to use a computer. The only valid use case I can even imagine for an iphone is if they are supplied by an employer to spy on their employees and keep track of their location 24/7. I would never want to work for a company like that, but I know people who have, and they were given iphones because they couldn't spoof their GPS location. Ahh, the limitations of iOS just amaze me why ANYONE would ever even consider using it. Don't even get me started on MacOS. There is just too much wrong with it to even know where to begin.
You can take any DS4 or DualSense controller, put it in pairing mode, and use it on a Mac with no cables or adapter! Great for gaming on it since it works right out of the box.
I think the iPod still has a place in the market. They just have to got back to making a pure music player instead of a smartphone without phone capabilities.
I think they should discontinue the 13“ M1 MacBook Pro. The advantages over the air are minimal: - The battery is already extremely good on the air. I can’t see why you’d need more. - The difference in the screen is barely noticeable. - Yes, the Pro is faster if you’re pushing it at 100% all the time due to cooling. But if you actually do this all the time, a 14“ MacBook Pro is a much better idea. Also, the 14“ MacBook Pro has a lot of improvements over the 13“ that you’ll actually use and notice, so if you can afford it, go for that. If you can’t, get an air.
I think the mouse is fine as I guarantee that it’s for a more sleek look and I think it takes 30 seconds of charging for an hour of use I don’t use them but have one with old iMac I got and I feel like that’s not really that bad for 30 seconds
Yeah, I prefer and use the five watt adapter because I always charge the phone overnight and it slowly charge the phone and the battery health is still at 100% even now after 9 months of use

Can’t imagine any issues but an M1 Mac mini starts at $699 (I got one on sale new for $550!) Intel starts at $1099
Is there something you need on Intel? Intel apps usually work on M1 under Rosetta 2 built in to translate.
I almost spit my drink when Matt called the Apple TV 4th Gen “Amish Technology” 😂😂😂
lol same!
The call out at 10:50 really got me. I was like. "Ah... I... I do that..." Clearly this is a personal attack :D
They still sell a lot of 30 Pin adapters (for some god forsaken reason) and a lot of adapters to standards we just don't use anymore. 30 pin to camera accessories (USB 1.0 I'm pretty sure) and obviously their VGA adapters (not dead port I guess but increasingly disused)
My first apple device was the iPod Touch 6. still have it now and it still works. That thing was good and still works pretty well.
I still have my iPhone 7 and my series 3 Apple Watch. Both still work fine.
I work in a kitchen and often close. Handling raw chicken and other food stuffs and oil, constantly getting up and down means I don’t want to use my fancy Sony headphones, or my truly wireless earbuds because I don’t want to touch them. So the apple earbuds are perfect because they sound good enough and they’re cheap enough that I don’t care about abusing them
Never stop please this has been my favorite this is serious so far
I used an Apple double a battery charger at my IT job in college 😂 Classic!
Yeah I prefer the 5w adapter because when I leave it on to charge overnight, it trickle charges it so that way the battery stays
many apps no longer work on 4 inch screen. It just igonres tapping because the icons are too small. And battery drains out very quickly on the last gen iPod touch. I thought they would update it though.
That's a terrible excuse. That is a non issue
Oh the timing on this could not have been any worse regarding Buffalo.
The dualsense makes sense I think apple and playstation got a bit of a marketing deal going on
The Mac mini Intel is a good option if you want to connect to an eGPU. that's probably the only reason to get one.
I did have the problem updating the OS , but found often if you update through the app on your phone it will work.. would I want a newer Apple watch .. yes.. but this one is still working fine.. is it worth the pricetag they want for it now when newer models are not much more? heck no.. but for what it was when it was new... it was worth it then... not now..
Same I used it until march of 2022
I'm surprised the 30-pin to VGA adapter wasn't on the list.
Hey does anyone know what the name of the robot T-Rex is called behind Austin? I remember seeing one of these in the mall windows when I was a little kid and I really wanted one.
That laugh was scary.
Yes the 5 Watt brick is a little ridiculous, BUT it is GREAT if you are wanting to prolong your Batteries' life.... Fast charging kills batteries WAY faster............... I'm on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I still rocking the 5 Watt brick. I want my phone to be functional for as long as possible! Honestly these things are still great!
And they were right, I am that commenter, because its TRUE!!!!!
I actually like the cheapest Apple TV because I keep it in a closet and only use it as a HomeKit hub. It works perfectly and there is no point spending extra on something that I don’t even look at.
I have zero issues with my Apple Watch series 3 I’ve had it for two years & it’s still updating & got enough storage
“It is the least ergonomical mouse ever.” *laughs in hockey puck mouse*
The comment impersonations by Matt were top-notch!😂
WOW, Duncan had so many stories and some weren't in fact stories. Still enjoyable.
You guys and New After Dark "The 'Management'" are my favorite duos, thanks!
fun fact, the dvd drice adapter doesnt even work on the modern macos versions, my macbook on monterey doesnt recognise it as a legitimate device
I’m confused. The keyboard with a Touch ID is a thing, right?
i actually still have an apple watch series 3 that i bought in 2020 and been meaning to upgrade and will probably upgrade to the SE 2022 model soon. I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a series 3 apple watch. only reason why i kept the watch is i at least still get notifications but yeah storage sucks on it and definately need a huge upgrade
I am sad. Know why? Because they discontinued the ipod.
Tim Cook better be signing the $20 polishing cloth in order for me to get it for it’s $20.
“Why would Apple only sell PlayStation controller and not Xbox?”
Forgets that Apple competes with Microsoft 😂
I can see why Apple are still selling some of these products.
Intel Mac Mini, there may be people who still genuinely need an Intel Mac for some reason and keeping the Mac Mini on sale means those people are more likely to buy from Apple rather than buying something on the used market or something (which makes Apple more money)
The wired earbuds with the headphone plug are likely aimed at people who have a Mac with a headphone jack (which includes even some current generation M1 MacBook models from the look of it) and want wired earbuds they can use with said Mac.
The 5W adapter is probably still sold because its smaller than the other 2 and therefore its easier to carry with you.
The Apple TV HD is probably still being sold because people are buying the HD who wouldn't have paid the extra for the 4K.
The USB optical drive is probably sold just because there are still people who need to read CDs and DVDs on a Mac (and its easier to keep making the existing drive than to make something newer and faster just for that market)
And for the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple probably wants a "low-end" watch (or as "low-end" as Apple gets anyway) to better compete with some of the other smartwatches on the market (there are almost certainly people who will buy a Series 3 watch for $199 instead of buying a competitor but would buy a competitor instead of a $279 Watch SE)
That and some of these things are likely "we still have all this stock left so we need to keep selling them".
The Magic Keybord is one of only two physical keyboards that will show up inside the Quest 2 VR environment. That alone means it should continue to exist.
i actually quite like the lightning standard earpods . they have decent sound, can wear them for hours and have an Excellent microphone on it
What about the 30-pin to USB cable that hasn't been used since the iPhone 4s?
I didn't even know you could buy a PS5 controller from Apple, and of course it's the most expensive brand new one that I've seen
There's no point in buying one now though - it's less powerful, and will go out of support sooner too.
Ⅱ thing that's a problem for the iPod is if you try to stream IT does not allow you to save the audio
So apple charges you for shit they used to give you with a device?
Apple still sells accessories that no longer work with new devices?
I knew I didn't like them for good reason..
Apple still sells 30 pin connectors for $30 if I’m right.
You’re wrong about the earphones, as an iPod user is very reassuring to know that if/when my pods die, I can get new ones
they still sell the 30 pin
There's 2 different kinds of people in the world, those that like offset analog sticks and smart people.
14:55 "Ergonomically this makes more sense to me" he said that he has to extend his fingers to show the position
Apple still sells SO-DIMM and full-length DDR4 memory from their site (but you have to use their search function).
I mean, as long as there are still Intel Macs for sale, they need to keep selling the non-Touch ID Magic Keyboard
the magic mouse rocks! the charge lasts so long and charges so quickly the charge port is not an issue. not using a port on my laptop is nice as well.
I actually want a Ipod and now its discontinued. WHY TIM WHY
I remember having a relative that had the 11 pro max and the apple charging case. He was also a brain surgeon, but that isnt the point.
Matt not giving a single F in this video is much appreciated.
Where did Austin get that Pokemon shirt with Korean letters of Pokemon on it?
what about the thunderbolt to firewire adapter thats also uselles
I’ve got the iPod touch 4th and 7th gen, I’m getting an iPod shuffle 2nd gen, iPod touch 2nd and 3rd gen
You can take any DS4 or DualSense controller, put it in pairing mode, and use it on a Mac with no cables or adapter! Great for gaming on it since it works right out of the box.
Apple really should just discontinue the Magic Mouse and only bother with the Magic Trackpad (which is HEAVILY underrated imo)
I think the iPod still has a place in the market. They just have to got back to making a pure music player instead of a smartphone without phone capabilities.
I think they should discontinue the 13“ M1 MacBook Pro.
The advantages over the air are minimal:
- The battery is already extremely good on the air.
I think the mouse is fine as I guarantee that it’s for a more sleek look and I think it takes 30 seconds of charging for an hour of use
I don’t use them but have one with old iMac I got and I feel like that’s not really that bad for 30 seconds
Matt has the best evil laughter lol
Yeah, I prefer and use the five watt adapter because I always charge the phone overnight and it slowly charge the phone and the battery health is still at 100% even now after 9 months of use
