How is the Cat holding up on the downpipes with pops and bangs tune? im really wondering cause I prefer sound with Cat but since it could get damaged over time I don't know what to do
@IceIceGoalie It’s honestly great. From inside the car it’s not that loud but it’s really loud on the outside. I wouldn’t say it gets annoying because I don’t always drive with it on since it only works in sport or individual with the engine set to sport. I recommend it!!
I wouldn't be able to stand all of the backfiring if this was a daily driver. I installed a catback with no resonator on 11' STi hatch and yea it sounded great but on the highway damn it was a loud drone.
Hi, please can you tell me what mods have you done to have this sound ? I mean, it depends only by downpipe and exhaust ? Could I know brand and model of what have you installed ? Thanks
@@bimchers6643 how is the cat holding up with pops and bangs. Iv a sports cat to go on my golf r but the exhaust guy said pops and bangs would destroy the cat and go decat
@@Gotcha285 Hey, I'm waiting for my catback to come in the mail, im going to make a video on it and also check out the cat after about a year of the tune.
@TGSN _ • still on stock clutch. No slippage except in 4th and up when you try to floor it at 1-3.5k rpm. I’m on the 93 high torque file and if you are just cautious with how much throttle you give it in the higher gears you should be fine.
Stock clutch I assume? haha 370's should be an easy kill with a Stage 2 VII unless the Z has some bolt ons and a tune as well. It sounded pretty stock, so I'm assuming that one went against was stock. Also, should have been 1 gear lower or brake boosted. Stage 2 VII's take off like a banshee if you're sitting at 4000-5200rpm and brake boosting to 20-25lbs. Give it a shot (after you get an upgraded clutch) ;)
@@Dkvwagen thanks man! If I had an mk6 I would probably go for a time that offered launch control / no lift shifting. None of the OTS tunes that are offered in my area give those features. Apr is a solid reliable choice if you’re on the fence.
Yeah at times I can hear almost a tough sponge like sound with the clutch especially on start up. I guess it’s normal for this car after reading about it in the forums. Also yes, the sound proofing is way too good because my car is extremely loud with the new exhaust but from the inside it sounds stock.
@brenden coviello Only other supporting mods to the car is the CTS catted DP and some kind of BOV. I plan on getting full catback after the winter along with intake.
Hey just saw a comment about your clutch i drive a manual mk7 gti aswell and thats what scares me about going stage 2 is losing my clutch😂 so as long as i dont drive too aggressively you think itll be fine?
@Kris Yeah, in this video all I had was the CTS high flow catted downpipe into the stock exhaust. It could be the tune from apr that is more aggressive. My new video I installed a x-force catback and the pops are even more ridiculous.
Honestly if it was my daily and I had a “weekend car” such as a manual e46 m3 or an f80 m3 I would pick dsg on the gti for daily commutes. I live in Illinois so the traffic is pretty bad. Since it’s my only car manual all day!!! But you can’t go wrong with getting a manual even if it is your daily. It’s so much better to feel “connected” to your car. You will enjoy it much more.
awesome driving clips. I drive a 6mt as well currently getting a pro tune stage 2
Funny seeing this comment now knowing the power your car makes
What’s up Jewel!
That noise would drive me insane !
Depending on who tuned it, it should be deactivated in comfort mode
love the sound!!

So what do you think of the pop/bang tune? Does it get annoying after a while? Does it only pop in sport mode? It sounds cool but I'm on the fence.

I agree, I have the ability to shut it off whenever I want. I also got a valved full catback so I can make it sound like stock whenever my head hurts.
Hi, please can you tell me what mods have you done to have this sound ?

It only has a catted downpipe from CTS. Other than that, a tune, BOV Short throw shifter and springs.

are you running a stock clutch? all the engine mods you're running are apr 2, and downpipe?
Still stock clutch. No slipping yet, but I’m responsible with the throttle. Yes apr 2 and catted dp with full catback

Do you experience any clunking sounds when pressing/releasing clutch (like the car wouldnt have very good soundproofing )or any shifting sounds ?

what causes the pops and bangs the downpipe or the exhaust?
The tune is what makes the pops and bangs.
