#Volcon #volcongrunt - Авто та транспорт
I’ve had a Grunt since March, and it’s a blast. Engineering and build are top drawer. I bought mine for $6000 direct from Volcon before they had a dealership network, so I’m thinking that a buyer should be able to get some movement off of the MSRP. A combustion engine bike wasn’t an option for me - I wanted to ride the horse trails on my farm, and I didn’t want to deal with the noise spooking the horses and chickens and shattering the quite of the woods. This thing is just Ninja - the deer don’t even notice. A bonus is that it’s pretty much maintenance free. I just spray some lube on the chain, and check tire pressure, and that’s it. The motor is permanently lubed, so no oil changes. And no stinking gas can to haul around, either. Range is not an issue for me, so I only have one battery - I just ram around the trails for a while, and plug in the battery when I get back. With no shifting and no noise, there’s pretty much no learning curve, so fun for friends and family to trail ride - it’s not intimidating at all. Love the innovation in this space, and glad it’s American innovation from Texas. Dig it.
Charging = 2.5 hours.... refilling a gas tank = 40 seconds. The industry needs to shrink that gap.
Now compare the price and enviromental damage
they are seriously ripping you off w that battery pack
Where's the mud! Run the hard course like the Trail 70's did. Maybe a side by side comparison of old tech versus new tech.
Based on my experience with fat tire mountain bikes, I think that would do a lot better in many places with much lower tire pressure. Tires become suspension, soak up bumps, and get more contact.
So glad you finally got to ride one!
I thought this was a Coleman or a Trailmaster from the thumbnail 😅 was not expecting electric…or that price tag 😬
I like these videos. It's interesting to see what everyone is coming up with.
pretty neat, would love to see a comparison test between this and the ubco 2x2
The reverse function is great. More big bikes need that for awkward exits from parking lots.
I've been seeing these pop up in sponsored ads on the socials. I think it looks cool and I like the concept of a modernized EV version of a Honda FatCat or Yamaha BW, but $8k to start and another $2k to have decent range seems a bit much, but I am not the target customer. Someone who owns a few acres of land probably has a bigger bank account than me and looks at a $10k purchase the way I look at spending a few hundred bucks. For me to spend $8-10k on a motorcycle, it needs to be street legal for me to get that much value out of it.
Not everyone is poor
@@wayne_3791 you are a penis
@@wayne_3791 not worth the price in any sense
Enjoyed the video. Looks like fun. Thank you
Excellent bike.. Hats off gentlemen
I love guys ur so young but very mature on your reviews keep it up👍👍👍
Would love to see the volcon vs a mb200x mini bike on y’alls ranch!!! Gas vs electric 🤘maybe do all the ranch courses!?🤔 awesome video y’all!
Needs to be tested in houston tx @ xtreme park.
Volcon goes far west, north, far east but can't manage to drive a few hrs from Austin to houston to test the ride in xtreme park and beach
Because of this video I got a Volcon Brat, and I am waiting for the Volcon Enduro to come out, so I can buy that one. The Brat is solid. I am sure the Grunt and the other products that they sell are too.
I remember way back when we had the Fat Cat and Big Wheels and man they were fun.
Cool and defiantly a sign of good things to come but like with all eBikes the price is just ridiculous. Excellent review however. You two make a great team and I always enjoy your videos.
can The Grunt be driven on smooth pavement, instead of Off road?
No front e-hub option. Hunter Rokon??
It first started at 5k, then bump it up 3 months after it's released date.
Warning, this bike takes forever to get to your home. Looking at 6 months to a year and must pay up front first before ordering
Ride time, depending how u ride. Think it's about 1hr, sport mode down to 30 mins
Should get a 2x2 Rokon and a dirt bike rider to compare this too. Take it where the trial 70's went. ;)
If just for running around, a dirt bike would be right, for seriuos off roading you need a 2 Whl Drive, Speed isn't an issue
@@WillyK51 I think it depends on what you mean by serious off roading. Maybe slowly over really rough terrain 2WD might be better but I wouldn't want to be at any kind of speed and any kind of lean and hit the throttle. The front end would wash out in an instant.
@@VTRex Having Fun with my dirt bike is a blast. But A 2WD bike shines when hunting where a 4 WD ATW won't fit. A trail👍And wouldn't mind a 2WD Electric. Silent. Not a Electric wehicle fan. But usefull sometime. Sad day when the sound of a V8 or Harley go silent
@@WillyK51 Honestly, I can't wait for the sound of Harleys to go silent. To me, Harleys just sound like the loud fart of male insecurity. Back in the 70's they may have been cool, but these days anytime I hear a Harley, I look up and see a middle-aged man having a midlife crisis desperately searching for an excuse to wear a denim jacket.
There is a 2x2 electric/gas coming in the spring. Less than 8K I cant wait. I ordered 2 of them. I guess I can make a quad out of them. The guys I ride with do wheely’s up the logs. I want to see Tommy and old Andree try it while doing a wheely.
I was riding my grunt on a dirt road and stopped when I heard a pack of coyotes nearby. I didn’t have my gun but it gives you a sense of what riding silent into a hunting area means. Anyone hunting can understand the advantages. I used it successfully last year in archery hunt. It’s a game changer for me.
EDub! For now I will Keep my TW200. Looks promising though!!
7:10 those thin metal posts sticking out of the ground seem like a really bad idea. If you fall wrong that impale city.
Neat!
Is this a better alternative to a Sur Ron?
it’s the most rock n roll thing ever
Try one of those Ariel Grizzly 2 wheel drive electric ⚡️ bikes on the ranch. They may lend you one.
I wish it was cheaper. But it’s a very cool rig
I challenge polaris to come out with something like this. I have the greenworks fat tire minibike, and it's stupid fun.
Does it come in gas?
got to get Roman on video riding it
Reminds me of an electric Rokon. I bought a Sur Ron while I waited for these to come out and the. I couldn’t find them. I did find one near me for $20k…those people were on crack.
Next challenge should be Tin Cup Pass!
Volcon grunt " yeah over the price 😂 i vulcan grunted 😮 3, 4 k $ yup"
How many miles out of a charge ? How is it in Mud ?
A Sur ron X, Segway or Talaria at $4000 and 110 pounds is about as good as you can get for a dual sport electric bike. I own the Sur ron X and it's an amazing value. Nimble, somewhat quick wirh factory battery/esc, lots of upgrades, parts availability and looks like a Batman vehicle.
Ive ridden both Surron and Taleria. They are very cool. My friend has both modified w/ full size dirtbike wheels/tires.
Very fun to ride in the woods.
More like $5000 delivered
Whoa. Off-road, I’ll just stick to the fuel mini-bike to pull my deer out.
Would it work on the beach and dunes ?
This vs Surron X?
My local motorcycle shop is a dealer for this brand and says the price has come down to 6K. Which is still expensive.
Kase 😍
I would pay $1200 for that
a street version would be nice
chuck a 185cc two stroke in there with high and low range and you'd have a decent little farm bike.
I’ve been considering an electric dirt bike for getting back a little further public land hunting in the west. Has anyone leveraged specific models for this and have feedback on noise levels as well as power/range concerns when carrying an additional 80 lbs pack?
I haven't yet seen any electric dirt bike that is capable of more than about an hour of riding time. Otherwise I would consider one. Until the solid-state batteries are available, I'm just sticking with a standard dual sport motorcycle.
That's reminds me of "MotoZodiaco" motorbike
I'd drive it around the block just to show off
Was that 75 mile range with one or two batteries and in what mode?
A 50 pound e-bike (bicycle) might get 75 miles (throttle only) from 2kwh, so that number must be for two batteries, and even then it’s very optimistic. (Compare it to the Zero FX with 7.2kwh)
Grunt and keep on walking by to the tw200 at the Yamaha dealer lol
City slicker ride
This looks like some high school engineer students designed this for a senior project then gave it to the art department to make look more sexy. Then business department said "mark it up 150% over material cost and sell them".
Yamaha TW 200 (3 grand less and 5 times more capable 78mpg )
With 30+ years of proven reliability.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
And street legal.
First thing I thought about. Electric vehicles are cool but for the cost of the batteries and the bike a TW 200 will offer you a lifetime of use. I think a lot of people don’t think about charge cycles what happens in a few years of steady use you need to replace a $2000 battery
@@maxpsi01 or when the battery is dead and they bury them in a landfill.
looks like my baja warrior
Looks like my $650 mini bike from Rural King electrified. Too bad it's so pricey! My mini bike goes anywhere!
Can it sit 2?
How the price?
Put an engine on it and I'd be a player.
No engine, no dice.
Heavier springs/more travel, little lower price, faster top speed and i might be in. 40 mph aint gonna cut it for me.
40mph is fine. I rarely go faster than that.
But I agree about suspension and price.
The one I bought had no static rear sag until I backed the shock spring collar off by 1.5 turns, which left no further upward turns but did allow for just a bit of static sag and mostly stopped the chain from contacting the lower swingarm guard.
I bought one to use for exploring, not raising dust.
It looks like a lot of fun, but $8,000 is maybe a bit steep
我会把他做到2000USD
Respectfully, that looked painful to ride. Too heavy for the suspension. And you can hear it in Alex's voice as he talks and ride. Just because this bike is electric doesn't mean we can't compare it to the existing dirt bikes. The 80's called and they want their Yamaha Big Wheel dirt bikes back.
can The Grunt be driven on smooth pavement, instead of Off road?
Yamaha still makes the TW200 big wheel dual sport bike, and it's still a great buy.
Reminds me of a Yamaha BW200 I had. The big tires are great in the sand. You can ride over the sand like a quad or ATC. If I were ever going to buy an electric motorcycle it would have to be similar or the same as this one.
$2k for a battery! That is nuts
If this was street legal, I might consider it. Even Rokon has a street legal version.
From the thumbnail I was expecting an updated Rokon with 2 wheel drive. :/ Oh well.
Rides like a hobby horse with tires at recommended 8 PSI, same as a Rokon.
Where can I buy one now??
Hey David, Volcon currently has set up 110 dealers in the US check out their dealer locator on the app. Dealers are currently receiving inventory now.
Cuando llega a peru
Hola Arnold, nosotros estamos buscando distribuidores en Peru actualmente. Pero estamos en Mexico, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Guatemala, y Panama.
Be careful if that is rebar at 7:17. Impalement hazard
At that price I’m guessing they don’t want to sell any
Seems that they have come to realize that as they just (10/8/22) put a $2K rebate on it. I bought one & wish that I hadn't; good idea, poor execution & customer support.
Pretty concerning that it struggles on a tiny hill. E power can produce lots of torque. Why would they have such a lame power curve?
8-10k and steel rims included WTF
Giant power Bank, all it's good for huh?
The talaria and the sur Ron are way more capable and half the price of this
Instead of describing what we can hear, why not let us hear it?
There is a lot of chain noise. It needs a larger front sprocket and a swingarm that isn't so thick vertically to keep the chain from slapping the hard plastic swingarm guard.
You wouldnt have ANY lag you said you had going up tge hill in sport mode. Sport mode better performance all around explore is just a word for more battery battery preservation why you got the lag.
Not sure it's worth it over something like a Sur Ron
New yamaha bw350 except not enough power for $6k
7K for an electric scooter!! I’ll pass.😄
That's a motorcycle...
Why talk about the sound but not let us hear it?! It makes me angry, I can't find a video were you hear the Grunt.
Air down
Not street legal? WTF were they thinking? Lol
Would it kill you to take Roman’s personal use Aprilia for comparison?
No thanks, all everyone that watched this is still thinking. Now let's go get a tw200
No way.. 10 grand with the extra battery. I'd rather buy a grom
7k+? nah, e bikes are years from realistic priced options, comparatively, thats just a quiet coleman ct200u-ex, and not worth over 1500, ever.
I’d rather have a TW200.
If they hadn't been so scare lately, I'm sure I'd have been happier with one than I am with the Grunt.
Nope, tnx.
dumb lcd screens piss me off dude so much
Price, too much,...range, too little, and where I go in the woods, I'd have to carry a gas generator to recharge it, so it's a "No" for me.
hear me out, supermoto it >:)
Paid 300 bucks for my Coleman needed a better seat pan so I could add suspension for the seat using parts I had at home if you think this is simple let me show you what 300 bucks can do
There's literally nothing to like about it. The suspension, top speed, price, street ability, everything is just meh. 😆
Who wants to pay for that?
And yet another overpriced overpromised under delivered electric vehicle!?😳🙄🤦🏼
Ya toy for fun. I’m an e moto owner and I get it but it’s not practical at all for cost It’s a big loser Coleman mini bike smoke this thing for 600 bucks
ca a l'Aire d'être bien de la merde qualités des matériaux non?
This bike seems like a kickstarter scam than actually ended up making a bike. A terrible, poorly designed electric minibike that is priced 2x what it should cost. 😆 This thing is a joke! 🤡
Boi bye
Waste of money 💰 🤑 💸
Gee thx Daniel for your insight - go kick rocks
