I bought it and it's worth every penny, truly. The whole story of point and click games, stuffed with true interviews, insights, lots and lots of images.
You guys just dont get it. Its a meta point and click adventure he was making where you have to figure out where everything he stole assets of originated from.
2:57 Imagine my shock as I tune into this video and see my pixel art from Halloween 2015 was stolen and used in this Kickstarter scam! I've never heard of this person and certainly never gave anyone permission to put my fanart into their own project. I've had others sell my fanart commercially without permission from me or the rights holders in the past, but never in a con like this! lol Thanks for actually sharing link to the original, which was a celebration of my favorite spooky characters, anyway! I'm still available to legit projects and paid commissions, too!

I'll just say this - for what it's worth: a Ghostbusters adventure game in the style of the old LucasFilm Games MS-DOS games would've been so, so good. This particular person's attempt is... admirable, to say the least, but something like this would be better handled by people who know what they're doing, haha.
First came the unlicensed AI-written Wonka experience, and now an unlicensed Lucasfilm game using AI as the backbone for its kickstarter campaign. I can already tell this year's rogues gallery is going to be full of prospective AI users/swindlers. Btw, your team did a nice job spotting a hot one.

Not that I'm offended, but I never thought the whole "manchild" thing makes sense just because you still enjoy things from your childhood. My grandfather loved westerns, movies and tv shows, as a child and no one ever called him a manchild for still watching them today. Same goes for kids from any era who grew up playing sports and now enjoys them on tv as an adult. Aren't they manchildren? Honest question.

yeeaaaa recaps and old clips just scream "dead channel" or "I'm running out of content". absolutely one of the most laziest ways to keep a channel alive and revenue stream going. if I want to watch old clips I will go watch them.
Yeah, I unsubscribed and only recently saw that there was some new content on the channel and re-subscribed. (my line of thinking is, if I still remember your channel down the line I'll randomly think of it and check out if it's worth subscribing to again)

Ignore that it can only ever be a guess anyway. And if like he said it was translated from Italian to English it's more likely to appear as AI if the translation is poor.
There was a guy that wanted to make 'original' video games but he didn't know much coding so he would only make asset flips games and sell them for top dollar. People ridiculed him for it. he said yes none of it is mine but I took the time and effort to put it all together so you could enjoy it. He was half honest. I felt bad for him. I feel like some people want to give you something the cheapest way possible including cutting corners but at the end of the day you have to decide scam or not cause at least it exists even if it isn't what they promised.

I think I saw this pop up on my facebook feed two years ago, I think, through an adventure game group. From my understanding at the time, it was supposed to be a basic fan project.
Although I know I saw a fan project for a GhostBusters Adventure game, I can't tell for sure if it's this one, because I can't seem to find the posts.
Could someone please explain to me how the LR “Loom” cover art and the “Beyond the CliIck” cover supposedly resemble each other (I.e., the latter stolen from the former)? I’ve had the screen with both side by side (~10:19) but just don’t see it.

Absoutely disagree. AI art is not to blame, it's the fault of the people that abuse it. It absoutely has it's uses and like any tool it can be abused. But it very much has a place and has legitimate uses.

they're not, they just make you check a checkbox on the game page to have a note on the side that the game uses AI assets, that was only a rule for a few weeks while they worked out the system for it.
It's not against the rules to use AI but Steam does require devs to clearly disclose the game uses AI

Kickstarters has always stolen old ideas is a fact . What new kickstarters do as same errors since these last 15 years is 1) Stupid nonsense packaging for their products they sell/promote which isn't ecological nor cheap for the buyer . 2) Everything needs to be connected like seriously !!? will a kitchen knife be connected too on how to slice ...really at some point the future isn't now and for awhile . We have advanced way too fast only to make certain new rich families lazy that doesn't know how to life their live right . 3) Many toys and video games etc... got stolen by ideas some worse than others ( even movies had their "blockbusters" copied by B or Z category of movies but some doesn't know that some blockbusters were copies from other movies biggest example is Indiana Jones is nothing original which the idea was found from the charachter Allan Quatermain : And the Solomon Mines ) 4) Why does everything made by kickstarters needs to be bland and soulless ? ( similar with people not liking to own physical stuff like dvd's, VHS, books , etc... because they're simply too lazy to clean their homes which is the real fact behind it ) Many people seem to not be able to use mathemitics since all the streaming Disney+, Netflix, Apple-TV cost way too much alltogether every month with a zero content as catalogue as many older movies, shows, cartoons are constantly censored ... Best to get original DVD'S whatsoever .

@@slopesgameroom Yes but the problem is that you upload more compilation videos than original content. Your previous uploads of Kickscammers, for instance, has been nothing more than "taking a look back at previous campaigns". I get it you're a busy guy and such and you got to "get the bag" or something, but as expressed by many people in the comments who are not bots blindly praising the content, regurgitating old content is not the way to go.
I think you may be exaggerating a little. I just checked as I don't want my channel to become that.

you criticize this guy for using stock images (thats what they are for) yet you use copyrighted background music in your own videos
He was sourcing where _everything_ was from and listed a couple things as stock images. That wasn't criticizing their use. On the map and compass image he even states that the guy may have paid for it, he doesn't know, so he's not even calling it stolen. He's just sourcing it as a stock image. You're reading the criticism into it.
A lot of creators use retro videogame music in their videos because while it IS copyrighted, it's basically a given that it's okay to use like this. It doesn't get flagged, and rights owners don't typically go after anybody who uses it so it's deemed "safe". He's not using it and representing it as his own creation.
He even stated that if the Ghostbusters game was this dude's first attempt at game creation it was fair play, not too shabby of a job. The money is where the problem comes in. There's nothing wrong with using stock assets so long as you have the _right_ to use those assets, whether it's because they're free to use or you've paid for the licensing to use them. This guy hasn't, and then he's wanting €10,000 for it.

Asking the viewer to like the video at the start of it has become a standard technique for a lot of creators - because they know that however illogical and patronising it is, it renders better results than doing so at the appropriate point (when the video concludes). Also, surely if he meant “Please like the video if, having watched it, you enjoyed the content” the request _would be at the end._

I could be speaking from a place of ignorance, but sprite comic authors never seem to get hit with copyright using them. If there's something else you mean though please explain.

If the copyright owners of those ripped sprites have a problem then they can take it up with the website. Nintendo would likely be the prime targeter there. But I have never heard of ripped sprites being the center of any massive lawsuit. Companies usually go after the big guns like unauthorized remakes.
