I got approved for my complete hysterectomy, scheduled June 25th!!! I'm 33, have no kids, and am so excited to never have to deal with them or all this nonsense ever again. It's so much better.) So we got to see how my period affects my chronic illness and it absolutely destroyed me. That was the selling point to insurance. I'm so glad to hear yours went well! Congrats on not having a uterus and friends
If you've never tried a heat pad, those can be incredibly helpful. I also found caffeinated sodas made cramps worse (but not always tea or coffee, weirdly). Lastly, if your period pain keeps you from being able to do regular activities, or you have pain when not on your period, please try to get evaluated for conditions like adenomyosis, endometriosis, fibroids and PCOS. I'm 38 and only recently learned periods should not be so painful you can't function. Don't be me lol.

If you have periods where the pain keeps you from doing things you want to do, look into getting evaluated because they shouldn't be this way. I only learned this recently at age 38 after being diagnosed with endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids.

I was kind of immediately put off because her behaviour to me was like i am acting or something, yk faking the pain since the scan came out normal. So I did book an appointment for a different doctor.
Her ability to communicate sounds pretty bad so I’m glad you’re seeing someone else - I hope they’ll have a better “bedside manner”. Your last gynaecologist at least took your pain seriously enough to give you prescription-strength medication - what was it? Sounds like she was focused on life-threatening things, like tumours, so in that sense you’re fine but she didn’t mention what it ‘could’ be. That’s frustrating, and I hope you find the new doctor a lot more compatible with your needs. I’m so sorry you’re suffering.

The day I lost my uterus and everything else at 32 was the best decision I ever made. I'm 60 now and after many years suffering with agonizing endometriosis, it was a blessing ❤
I was also on my period on my wedding day. Yuck. But it's only recently, at age 38, that I learned periods shouldn't be so painful you can't do normal things, thanks to a new diagnosis of endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids.
