What Black Trail Is Best At Coed Y Brenin? Tarw Du Vs MBR Trail

- I compare 2 of the most popular trails at the Coed Y Brenin trail centre and find out which is the best one for you! Coed Y Brenin is situated in the Snowdonia national park in North Wales which has buckets of trail networks and bike parks to choose from.
We stop and look at some of the fun features and highlight the good and bad bits from the Tarw Du (Black Bull) and the MBR Trail.
Both trails are great trail centre rides which will take you roughly 2hrs per trail. On paper they are very similar in distance and climbing elevation but they have a different feel whilst riding.
Tarw Du is very much big climbs with big descents whilst the MBR Trail has a lot more traversing. Both trails cover around 20km loops with 450-500mts of climbing.

Both good trail centre loops tbh, I've been thinking about doing a Wales weekend next spring for Trail Hubs 5th birthday...... watch this space!

the beast is a combination of the mbr and dragons back, it's not a separate trail.
you're right, the mbr and dragons back share a beginning and end. it gives people the impression that there's a lot more trail than there actually is.
btw, your pronunciation of welsh names i.e. tarw du, antur and coed y brenin is quite frankly insulting. it always amazes me why english people can't be bothered to pronounce welsh names properly. you even called y du (the black) at antur 'why do', rofl!
