    Nice man, I usually use a mix of rapid set cement and gravel which is cured in about an hour.. but it is $25 a bag so your method is a lot more economical and I am going to try it

    you should make a small vibrating table and make your mix a bit wetter ..i usto use soapy water to coat the latex before pouring the mix.make a bath of soapy water and dip them in ..then pour and put on vibrating table and add waste blocks ..we used the fast concrete setting mix mainly in the winter ..we manufactured tonnes of the stuff daily ..and paving stones then moved onto manufacturing block paving for drives and walkways

      I try not to mix too runny, if you mix too runny, the concrete loses its strength. I thought about getting a vibrating table. The problem with a vibrating table for me is, i like to pour a dozen statues at a time. I have found shaking the molds after pouring is helping get rid of most of the air bubble.

    Your videos are my favorite. I use the yellow bags but I think I am going to pick up some red and try them out. How is the cure time before you paint with the red bags? With the yellow I normally have to wait 1-2 weeks and it really hampers my ability to produce and sell.

    • @victoria653
      @victoria653  4 роки тому +1

      Hey, thanks for the comment. With the red bags, I paint them the same day! No issues or maybe the next day if the weather is cold and curing is slower. I use Watered down acrylic black paint, when that dries, then I dry brush over top of that with gold/silver or grey. once that dries then a clear coat spray can over top to seal it. Going to make a video on how i paint my statues sometime this week.

    • @jrgjrg5097

      Johnathon Wheeler That’s also how I paint mine I just wait a week or two because I am always worried that they aren’t cured all the way. What do you like to use to patch air holes? I just use straight Portland cement and mix it into a paste but didn’t know if you had found anything that worked better.

      I have seen all your videos on statues and I think this is my favorite. I know you mentioned the red bag in a previous video about pouring during the winter. I’m down in New Jersey and once it gets too cold I don’t pour at all. But I bought a couple bags of the red today and I can believe that I can pour a statue even my large mother Mary at noon and have a solid statue at 4. I was wondering how you sell yours if you mostly do Facebook and Craig’s list or if you have any in local stores? I have a couple stores I sell in and I prefer that because I like being removed from the actual sale but I also do Facebook and just wanted your perspective.

      Hey Jonathan, kind of an emergency question. Hoping you can respond asap... 😬
      I cut a seam along the back of one of my rubber molds. Now, when I poured the concrete, concrete water has leaked out of the seam and into my fiberglass mother mold. I'm conflicted because I don't want to start over but I'm worried the leaked concrete will destroy my mold... Do you think it will be okay? Have you dealt with water leaks from a mold and how so?
      Thanks in advance!

      Took me a few attempts and lots of trail and error. A bit of advice, do not mix too wet, the statues will be brittle and corrode later on. @Moloch1038 Рік тому

      I know this is 2 years late and you most likely figured it out but it's most likely due to the cement getting moisture while still in the bag. This will cause the chemical reaxtion to start and basically render it useless. If you get a bag of cement and there are clumps in it that can be broken (not stone) then this is what happened. I had this happen and when I went to remove the casting it broke apart like it was hard compacted sand. The cement should be a powder only. No clumps.
