I have a pickup that measures to spec ( Suzuki 68 ohms ) but does not generate enough voltage ( installed at the correct distance from the magnet ).
Replaced it with another ( same resistance ) and twice the output voltage. So resistance test alone is not enough.

Can you ground that green/white wire to battery negetive? Because I found it going to the cdi as a positive ground joining the second ground on the cdi via a 1.6-ohm resistence.... I was thinking why doesn't this green/white wire have any continuety to battery negetive like a single wire pick up which only has a blue/white wire.😮

I have a Kawasaki KZ440 that has a bad pickup coil...no spark when the engine warms up. Can't find a replacement anywhere. I was going to try to make it work by buying a pickup coil for another bike and do some work to mount it in the same position. My wires are black and blue on the original. The coil I want to buy that looks like it will fit has wires that are white and white with a red tracer. Does the polarity matter on the coil? My coil tests out a 480 ohms...each way of course. How do you tell if polarity matters. Thank you.

If the pickup coil has 2 wires, usually both go to the CDI. One is likely internally grounded inside the CDI, but not externally.

Your stator is shorting out my boss had the same issue.. it's a very common issue on the raptor 660 specifically the wires inside the case for the stator short out on each other causing no spark... I found it in a forum after doing everything new coil new this new that you know... anyways there's a few wires coming out if the case from the stator I know you just need to cut 1 of them and it will start I do not remember what color it was red or yellow it fired up instantly after that.. his quad sat for 2 years because of that issue and I just searched a few forums and found it was a very common issue. His battery did not charge afterwards but it did run for a few hours on a good battery and was able to troubleshoot the issue we put a new stator in it later. You could even cut 1 at a time and put connectors on them so you know wich wore it is or just search raptor 660 stator shorting out quick fix you'll find the same post on the forums I'm sure

On ThumperTalk forums there's an article I follow regarding pulse generators on a XR650L being the culprit for the bike not wanting to start after its been ridding awhile. I've been having the same problem with my XR650L, I'll go on a ride, do my business, get back on my bike and no start. It turns over but its not firing up, not until it cools down about half an hour later then it'll start up again. I get lucky on occasions it'll start up right away if I don't let sit too long but most times it needs to cool down awhile before it will fire up. Some say valves, others say turn off gas ahead of where you're stopping, but I'd like to think pulse generator because others have had success, your recommendations?
