I don’t hate new stuff but do hate the screen 8k curved Samsung monitors we have now instead of a proper well designed and crafted dash. - Now with the challenger the best muscle car ever made + designed it’s sad to see how it’s so soapy and buttery now
@barrak2k059 Mercedes with that screen's debut in the A-Class (Previously the G Wagon and prev gen S-Class) really set everyone else for major interior failure cos they (merc) integrated them so well and still kept the necessary and important buttons physical. They have a high emission fleet average, so they can pay the fines or buy credits from ev companies, or they can improve their fleet average by selling Evs and hybrids
Pressure from over-regulation by the federal government. If those regulations are cut back, automakers will be more comfortable and able to make vehicles that customers actually want and not artificially inflating the EV/hybrid market Hopefully our future president will be able to help with that

The number 1 spot goes to China, however China is not forcing their companies to make EV's or cut down on pollution. Honestly if they just reingeneered the chassis (not use the 300c one) and kept the old body on top. They would still sell like crazy. You don't need to fix what isn't broken. Even if the design is 20 yo it just doesn't show its age with how different it is and the fact that it doesn't follow current design trends

I’m glad he left, but boy does Stellantis have a long road ahead of them. I hate it for everyone involved because there’s no getting around the fact that things could have been better for the company. I can understand wanting to be greener, but there are far better compromises than completely killing off your best selling car, along with your best engine. If Tavares really wanted the Challengers and Chargers to be “green”, I’m sure they could have gone hybrid. Controversial, but it would be better than killing off their best selling line up in exchange for EVs. Especially in today’s market, we’re global EV sales have slumped lately. My hope is that, going forward, they make better decisions for their buyers and the company at large.

The Gen.3 Gemi needed to end, same with the Challenger and Charger. Given the political outlook 4 years ago, a v8 in a car just would not work. There was no prospect of a V8 in Europe, and a v8 would not pass emissions for cars in the US after 2026. Now that is no longer the political outlook, so Stellantis is changing their story. There is now an opportunity to develop a new generation cross-plane V8, which I think Stellantis should take. A smaller 4.0L v8 will fit into the new Chargers with front end modifications. It makes more sense for the Charger to have a v8 given its low hood height. Hopefully Stellantis purges themselves of Euro ideas and bring out a cross-plane V8 opposed to a flat-plane.

If its engineered with an inline 6, a V8 will fit. GM did it with the Trailblazer/Envoy platform. 4.2 I6, 5.3 and LS2 V8s. Whats unclear if Stellantis allowed DCJR design a next gen V8. Is it a Hemi? Pushrod? Modular to create a V6, or V10? A pushrod V8 would allow that platform to accept a V8
Correction, it is designed for a v8 because the engineers knew that if the EV/i6 idea failed. It’s a simple bolt in. Mind you from the look of the body, it’s just a modified chassis of the current charger

They actually can fit a v8 in it and are already working on it. The 5.7 fits but at worst they'd only be moving the strut towers. They are also working on a non hemi v8
My main dream car I have always wanted is a B5 blue 392 SCAT PACK manual Challenger (non-widebody) with the basic interior and shaker hood. I dont think I could ever enjoy driving an EV version of that. The 392 is just such a good sounding V8.
In my opinion the most OEMs are struggling with their design language these days. In the past you could clearly differ Italian design from the German, the British from the French and Japanese from the US American... Today, it's a mess. If there is no logo on the front or a specific known design element, it's very difficult to say where that car is from. So, the most Designers can't addopt to the company and the heritage, to create an evolution... Everyone is trying to create a revolution, that won't last for longer than 5 years... It's very disappointing sometimes.

Like British Leyland, the quality issues had existed before the merger, and reliability requires reforms and time that no CEO will likely to have. And like British Leyland, the union will try to stop you from doing anything, the accountants will want you to cut everything, and the investors will demand bonuses from every quarter. So technically, Stellantis will be another British Leyland.
Having an EV muscle car is fine, as long as you still have the V8 option. Going green is fine, but having a V8 option would not have had that much of an impact. Carlos did more damage to the "green market" by not making the V8 because now people will hate "Green vehicles" more. And as someone who majored in environmental science, if you really want to go green, support public transportations.
I don't mind the new design of the charger; I like the design, and the interior is a step up. But you got to have an option for a V8. I understand customers who want a 6-cylinder but have a V8 option. Even if you have to put an electric motor to meet regulations, do it like the C8 E-Ray. Companies that go straight to all-electric and do not take the time and engineering to make it work is disappointing. My dream build is a widebody pink panther challenger scat pack with a shaker hood.

Its the excess demand and production of such iconic beasts (v8s) that dodge is "not allowed" anymore to lead the lineups with insane v8s engines. While ford an mustang where filling gaps with charged 4 pots, dodge was ofering a v6 a TWO v8s before the hellcat. Dodge ran itself out of options.

Forcing Chrysler to sell crap rather than producing their own goods for the market doesn't make sense to me. Let the European cars fail on US soil with a European badge. They have had a vehicle in development since Stellantis was formed which should be hitting the market in 2025.

The destination - car companies have to get cleaner or die - is correct but the question is what is the best way to get there. A pity the new charger EV is apparently not the home run it needs to be. I would have retro fitted the 300 as an EV. Chrysler really should be rebadging Stellantis euro product urgently.
Chrysler should make a Chrysler. Only one of the European cars brought to the US sold well. The 500x. Forcing Chrysler to sell crap rather than producing their own goods for the market doesn't make sense to me. Let the European cars fail on US soil with a European badge. Chrysler right now outsells all the Italian brands put together on US soil with 1 vehicle. They have had a vehicle in development since Stellantis was formed which should be hitting the market in 2025.
@ the Stellantis EV’s are all fine like solid 7/10 models not exciting or class leading but generally well reviewed. A rebadged Pug 5008 EV would make a great Chrysler product given their minivan history. In fact anything from Euro Stellantis would be the best car Chrysler have sold since the OG 80’s minivan or the horniest 300’s
