My goodness this person has exactly described my experience too! I have the same compulsions, someone gets water, I have to get water, someone stands for a second and I can not bear sitting, someone walks upstairs to get their phone and I have to too, thank you for answering this email because is exactly what I needed to get help with too, sometimes this compulsion feels like it’s not as important to get over it’s obviously not significantly affecting weight or anything but I KNOW how unhealthy and annoying it is, I feel like sometimes my mum is the only mum in the world who’s entire day would be made if I chose to actually sit and not help with ANYTHING for a day haha, I really am trying to get over it, I’m going to try from now on to stop these compulsions as hard as possible because I know I can, it is just so so hard
Such a good example of how ED cannot allow us to be present and make people so alone and in their heads even when surrounded by people. the stress, the guilt, the shame...it is hard to be our best self this way. Just to anyone out there who feels alone: you're not.
it did for me. Prior, I was messy and disorganised. Once things started, I had everything colour coordinated and coded. For me AN was like amphetamines, I never stopped mentally or physically.
