On this Station Saturday Firefighter Teribery takes viewers on a tour of Firehouse 13, located at 6290 W. Coal Mine Ave. in Jefferson County, Colorado.
I have worked at a five engine one squad station. I have also worked at a engine one squad station. I had my better times at smaller stations. It’s just a really awesome experience. I am also impressed by his wealth of knowledge of Station history!
Stations 181 and 184 belong to a neighboring department called Franktown Fire Protection District. That department is not part of SMFR, so there probably will not be any tours of those station by SMFR. They are great neighbors, so you will hear them responding to help SMFR a lot, and SMFR will help out with their calls!
He really knew all of the history of the station from its inception to today 😎😎👍👍Also he's very well spoken *** I love the Wolfpack nickname and the story behind how Station 13 got it * ** Maybe someday Station 13 will be given an upgrade and maybe a more spacious location for all of the Crew to have a little more room to not be on top of each other 🙏🙏🙏🙏
When departments merge with South Metro does SMFR adopt anything from those departments? For example I know Littleton operated the larger commercial chassis ambulances whereas SMFR operates with van chassis ambulances. I also saw Littleton ran rear mount ladders while SMFR operates mid mount aerials. Does the SMFR just phase those out for their own stuff or do those things get evaluated to see if they could potentially be used to benefit the whole organization?
I really love the duty T-shirts worn by your firefighters on these Station Saturday episodes. Each house is different in a way and having special Ts is a way to honor history but we all do the same job, "Putting The Wet Stuff on the Red Stuff" no matter what station or department we come from. Very cool series of videos and you all do it very well. 👍
Thank you Kim Connor and Eric from your friend kyle in Springfield Missouri can’t wait for more day in the life fleet Friday station Saturday pio vlogs love and miss you my friends
You should do a fleet Friday on engine 13, it looks different than the other. Also, does smfr keep it’s reserve rigs fully stocked, or do crews transfer gear over?
Engine 13 was in reserve during this video but I believe the front line engine is similar to Engine 16 which a fleet Friday has been done on, and crews will transfer gear over to the reserve apparatus when they need to switch
Very, very nice video. I really enjoy your videos very much.I am not able to travel and your channel shows me things I would never see. Take care and God Bless you.
Thanks for the tour. Your station is small, but that just makes it more homey. I like having family and friends close, this place is perfect. Reminds me of our station
It's really amazing how well adapted to the modern requirements even this old station is. SMFR is really showing how it's done to a lot of other departements around the world. Meanwhile I'm running rescue from a station that still has three floors, connected by a non-regulation stairwell and no poles. But the district decided they'd give us an official extension to response times (2 minutes at daytime, 3 at night - as opposed to 1 minute at all times they demand of other stations) rather than remodelling/rebuilding the station after two of our buddies fell down the stairs on a pediatric resus call... :/
I feel your pain. 2 out of 3 of our stations were built before plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and OSHA were even a thought. It looks cool on the outside but spending 24hrs in them sucks, especially during winter. Freezing cold.
I've got a question I've noticed you running red and blue lights on your fire and emergency vehicles why are you running that combo I've learned police are red and blue and fire and emergency vehicles are red lights only?
In Colorado, State law allows any emergency vehicle (police, fire ems) to have any combination of red, blue, white and amber emergency lights. Each department can choose what they like best.
I love all of my family in emergency field from a former firefighter n ems how would I be able to get a shirt from fire house ps be careful to my brother and sisters 🙏 GOD BLESS
Hi team great content! With all the patches you have accumulated do you have a site or place where they are all listed out? If not that would be great!
Engine and Pumper usually mean the same thing, some regions just use different names to describe them. An Engine/Pumper carries water (500 gallons or more) a pump (usually 1,250 gallons per minute or more) and various diameter and lengths of hose. In Colorado Pumper is a vintage term and Engine is the common name now.
All Firefighters at South Metro are trained to Haz-Mat Operations level and there are opportunities to join the Haz-Mat Team where personnel are trained to Technician level. Those members staff Engines or Medic Units full-time and cross-staff a Hazardous Materials Emergency Response and Decontamination vehicle when needed. They respond district wide on large fuel spills, substance investigations or releases/spills.
Dang was really hoping to see Medic 13 in the bay. Also I have a. Couple of video and series ideas. I would love to see a follow up video of the “first day as a firefighter” video with the female firefighter from a few years ago. I would also like to see a series of day in the life of the different stations. Also a history of south metro video.
What's the next day in the life video going to be about? Do you plan on making a video about fire investigators other than just the Fleet Friday you made about them? Why have you stopped making unscripted videos and do you plan on restarting that series? Loving the videos...keep up the good work!

This guy really did his homework on the history of the station.
Great tour of an awesome older building; looks great! Love the history and stories.
Awesome video! Thank you and God Bless you all🙏🏼❤️
what a cool little station
@SouthMetroFireRescue - Centennial, Colorado is engine 13 at station 13 a front line engine or a spare engine?
Thats a reserve apparatus
Hmmm can a day in a Life at Station 184 and 181 occur and the Fleet friday
Stations 181 and 184 belong to a neighboring department called Franktown Fire Protection District. That department is not part of SMFR, so there probably will not be any tours of those station by SMFR. They are great neighbors, so you will hear them responding to help SMFR a lot, and SMFR will help out with their calls!
Do Station 34 please!!!

He knows his history, and was very well spoken. Loved it!
I love how each station carries on the legacies of each department prior to their merger with SMFR
South Metro adapted the Littleton design "black over red" for example.
@@schnemannfilms oh. Is the black over red going to be department wide now? I wasn't aware of that.
@@nicholasyoung8017 Yes. It's also been said that the International crew cab ambulances will be replaced with standard ambulances when the time comes.
I love south metro fire department
U guys make my day

You spelt Saturday wrong. You spelt it Staturday

@@centralcofirebuff7830 that’s what I thought. Would still be neat to get a fleet Friday on some of the reserve rigs.
@@MB12116 I believe they will eventually do some on the reserves
Basically a station 14 copy but great history explanation
When is the next day in the life and pio vlog coming out?
It’s nice but sad to see these stations turn into south metro. I know it’s just a name change it’s just firefighters hate change 😂.
Very, very nice video. I really enjoy your videos very much.I am not able to travel and your channel shows me things I would never see. Take care and God Bless you.

Like how the South Metro Fire Fighters doing the station tours explain the history of the station and the apparatus. Enjoy these videos a lot!
Very well done, Takes his pride of the past very seriously. Stay safe station 13.
The station is in the station is in in Colorado and is very nice Chief Matt
Great Job. He really knew the history of this station and did a great job presenting it
Surpised they havent done station 37 yet
Station 13 is called the Wolf Pack with Engine Medic
Sounds like it’s time to build a new station
I've got a question I've noticed you running red and blue lights on your fire and emergency vehicles why are you running that combo I've learned police are red and blue and fire and emergency vehicles are red lights only?

Woooohoooo love these. Watched every single one. I need a hoodie from this department
Was that a reserve engine in the station? Saw a picture at the end of video, with a black over red engine 13?
Yes that was a reserve in the station
Any bets for the next station Saturday, I’m saying station 43
34

In south metros departments how many “parade only” rigs do you guys have
I absolutely love the history, need more history tied to these type of videos. Awesome job everyone 👏
When is the next video coming out?
We should have a PIO Vlog up this Friday and the Fleet Day in the Life is being filmed next week!
QUESTION HERE! What’s the difference between a “Engine” & a “Pumper”?
Engine and Pumper usually mean the same thing, some regions just use different names to describe them. An Engine/Pumper carries water (500 gallons or more) a pump (usually 1,250 gallons per minute or more) and various diameter and lengths of hose. I know you guys are busy, but I've watched every video and need more 😂 when's the next one? And what's the ETA for the day in the life at Fleet?
Thanks for watching! There should be a new Vlog up this Friday and the Fleet video is being filmed next week!
So just looking at jobs post-army, what types of things are there for hazmat in firefighting especially in South Metro FD
That was a fantastic tour
